  • With growth of Internet, real time multimedia application services require guarantee of QoS (Quality of Service). However, the existing Internet based on best-effort service is not enough to support those services, so MARS model to support IP multicast over ATM networks and RSVP to provide heterogeneous QoS by resource reservation scheme are proposed. As a simulation result, it is proved that processing delay of MARS is increased and success of resource reservation is decreased as a number of QoS change request of a receiver is increased. Therefore, it is important to provide heterogeneous QoS that distribute a load of MARS caused by convergence of messages and efficiently manage the resource of network as to find out scale of receivers and frequency of QoS change request.

  • Intensive studies have been made in the area of VOD server. Multimedia files in the VOD sever are characterized with the large volume of data, the requirements of synchronization and real-time playback of streams. The basic goal of the study is to find an efficient mechanism to allow maximum number of users under the limited resources such as Bu11er size and disk bandwidth. we propose a efficient user-grouping policy for multi-casting services with dynamic monitoring and management of VOD sever resources. Simulation results show that the rate of buffer usage and QOS change of proposed scheme are about 23% performance improved than that of traditional methods. This implies that our method can allow much more users for given resources.

  • Internet networks consisting of existing routers show the limits in efficiency of traffic managements. In order to overcome the limits, MPLS System is high speed switching technology and is not based on IP address but based on label was designed. However MPLS system being based on ATM has the difficulties of supporting Qos(Quality of Service). This paper suggested the way to consist a service-assured-network using CR-LDP protocol which was designed for guaranteeing QoS in MPLS system being based on ATM switch and using qGSMP protocol, and the way to implicitly establish LSP by implementing QoS Translation and QoS Mapping in LER System.

  • As Information society has expanded in large scale. In order to improve the reliability and Qos(Qualify of service), domestic IDC(Internet Data Center) has adopted or will adopt the SLAs(Service Level Agreements). The power quality of internet hosting server unit, power system and UPS is very important for better internet service. Therefore, the higher reliability of power system is imperative for satisfying SLAs. This paper presents the status measurement of domestic IDCs harmonics and illustrates the reduction effect of harmonics through the multi-phase.

  • In this thesis, we have proposed an extended resource management mechanism that optimizes the QoS of multimedia service by complementing the existing resource management mechanism used in IP networks. The proposed resource management mechanism is composed of traffic Scheduler which was designed based on statistic analysis of the distribution of user traffic occurrence, Traffic Monitor Unit, Bandwidth Allocation Unit, queue Controller, and Traffic Classifier In order to confirm the validity of the proposed resource management mechanism, its performance was analyzed by using computer simulation. As a result of performance analysis, its availability was proved.

  • 네트워크 서비스에 있어서 품질을 정확히 측정하고 품질지수를 도출하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 종래의 네트워크 서비스에 대한 품질지수는 QoS(Quality of Service)로서 많은 연구가 있어왔다. 하지만 QosS를 통한 사용자 품질지수는 실제 사용자의 서비스 만족도를 효과적으로 표현해 주지 못하였다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 QoE(Quality of Experience)라는 개념을 도입하여, 사용자가 실제로 느낀 서비스의 만족도를 도출하고자 하였다. 사용자의 서비스 만족도를 잘 표현해주는 QoE를 도출하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 QoE Framework를 제안한다. QoE Framework는 framework를 위해 동작하는 agent들로 구성된다. QoE Framework의 agent는 크게 서비스 제공자측과 서비스 사용자 측으로 나눌 수 있는데, 서비스 사용자 측의 agent는 서비스를 이용하다가 사용자가 서비스 불만족을 감지하였을 때, 서비스 제공자측 agent는 사용자측 agent로부터 받은 서비스 불만족에 대한 feedback으로부터 QoE도출 알고리즘을 사용하여 최적의 QoE를 도출하는 기능을 한다. 서비스 제공자측 agent의 QoE도출 알고리즘으로 GA(Genetic Algorithm)을 사용하여 최적의 값을 구하게 된다. QoE framework의 알고리즘에서는 불만족 feedbaek을 이루는 QoS 파라미터들간의 중요도와 관계를 도출하여, 주어진 서비스 개선 비용으로 최적의 QoE를 도출함으로써, 네트워크 서비스에 대한 사용자의 만족도를 최대로 높이는 결과를 도출하게 된다.

  • In this paper, we proposed cell priority control with 2-level thresholds, which was considered cell loss and cell delay requirement, in ATM switch with output buffer. Priority control mechanism presented in this paper improved cell loss rate for cell loss censitive cell and cell delay for delay censitive cell. In this mechanism cell loss rate and mean cell delay of cell priority control mechanism were obtained theoretically. The results show that cell loss rate and mean cell delay improvement become better by adjusting two thresholds according to QOS characteristics.

  • The capacity of the cell varies with the load of the home and neighboring cells. But most call admission control (CAC) algorithms do not consider the cell loading. In this paper a dynamic call admission control is proposed in a WCDMA system with traffic asymmetry. The proposed algorithm changes the CAC thresholds of new call and handoff call based on channel condition. The blocking and dropping probabilities can be controlled by adjusting these thresholds. The proposed algorithm guarantees the Qos of call class and priority between new call and handoff call. In addition, it can minimize the grade of service (GOS) value with the system throughput maintained.

  • We propose a beam selection algorithm that improves inter sector SIR using a code-book of a circular array antenna in multi-sector wireless mesh network environments. The proposed method improves SIR using a combination of fed back code-book and guarantees QoS of all nodes. Computer simulation exhibits the proposed scheme demonstrates 4.42dB higher SIR than that of the conventional code-book method, QoS with proportional fair is improved by 1.70dB and fact that all nodes are satisfied Qos is also shown.

A Novel SDN-based System for Provisioning of Smart Hybrid Media Services

  • In recent years, technology is rapidly changing to support new service consumption and distribution models in multimedia service systems and hybrid delivery of media services is a key factor for enabling next generation multimedia services. This phenomenon can lead to rapidly increasing network traffic and ultimately has a direct and aggravating effect on the user's quality of service (QOS). To address the issue, we propose a novel system architecture to provide smart hybrid media services efficiently. The architecture is designed to apply the software-defined networking (SDN) method, detect changes in traffic, and combine the data, including user data, service features, and computation node status, to provide a service schedule that is suitable for the current state. To this end, the proposed architecture is based on 2-level scheduling, where Level-1 scheduling is responsible for the best network path and a computation node for processing the user request, whereas Level-2 scheduling deals with individual service requests that arrived at the computation node. This paper describes the overall concept of the architecture, as well as the functions of each component. In addition, this paper describes potential scenarios that demonstrate how this architecture could provide services more efficiently than current media-service architectures.
