Three acrylic copolymers containing tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (AlQ3) pendant group (25 wt%), acrylateco-HEMA-$AlQ_3$ (25 wt%), were successfully synthesized by free radical polymerization from acrylates [methyl methacrylate (MMA), acrylonitrile (AN) or 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA)] with HEMA functionalized with AlQ3 pendant groups (HEMA-p-$AlQ_3$). The glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of MMA-co-HEMA-p-$AlQ_3$ (copolymer 1), AN-co-HEMA-p-$AlQ_3$ (copolymer 2) and HEMA-co-HEMA-p-$AlQ_3$ (copolymer 3) were found to be 158, 150 and $126^{\circ}C$, respectively. They have good thermal stability: a very desirable feature for the stability of OLEDs. Their solubility, thermal properties, UV-visible absorption and photoluminescence behaviors were investigated. They were found to be soluble in various organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), dimethylformamide (DMF), toluene and chloroform. It was also found that the UV-visible absorption and photoluminescence behaviors of these copolymers were similar to those of pristine $AlQ_3$. Green organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have also been fabricated using these copolymers as light emission/electron transport components obtained easily by spin coating, and their current density voltage (J-V) curves were compared. The OLED device of the copolymer 3 had the lowest turn-on voltage of about 2 V compared to other copolymer types devices.

According to the World Water Development Report 2015 released by the United Nations, drinking water is expected to decrease by 40% by 2030. This does not mean that the amount of water decreases, but rather that the water source is contaminated due to environmental pollution. Because microbes are deeply related to water quality, the analysis of microbe is very important for water quality management. While the most common method currently used for microbial analysis is microscopic examination of the shape and feature after cell culture, as the gene analysis technology advances, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) can be applied to the microscopic microbiological analysis, and the application method has been studied. Among them, a reverse transcription (RT) step enables the analysis of RNA by RT-PCR. Integrated cell culture (ICC)-qPCR shortens the test time by using it with microbial culture analysis, and viability qPCR can reduce the false positive errors of samples collected from natural water source. Multiplex qPCR for improved throughput, and microfluidic qPCR for analysis with limited amount of sample has been developed In this paper, we introduce the case, principle and development direction of the qPCR method applied to the analysis of microorganisms.

Reinforcement learning is considered as an important tool for robotic learning in unknown/uncertain environments. In this paper, we propose an evaluation function expressed in a vector form to realize multi-dimensional reinforcement learning. The novel feature of the proposed method is that learning one behavior induces parallel learning of other behaviors though the objectives of each behavior are different. In brief, all behaviors watch other behaviors from a critical point of view. Therefore, in the proposed method, there is cross-criticism and parallel learning that make the multi-dimensional learning process more efficient. By ap-plying the proposed learning method, we carried out multi-dimensional evaluation (reward) and multi-dimensional learning simultaneously in one trial. A special neural network (Q-net), in which the weights and the output are represented by vectors, is proposed to realize a critic net-work for Q-learning. The proposed learning method is applied for behavior planning of mobile robots.
This paper proposes a stereo vision-based forward obstacle detection and distance measurement method. In general, stereo vision-based obstacle detection methods in automotive applications can be classified into two categories: IPM (Inverse Perspective Mapping)-based and disparity histogram-based. The existing disparity histogram-based method was developed for stop-and-go applications. The proposed method extends the scope of the disparity histogram-based method to highway applications by 1) replacing the fixed rectangular ROI (Region Of Interest) with the traveling lane-based ROI, and 2) replacing the peak detection with a constant threshold with peak detection using the threshold-line and peakness evaluation. In order to increase the true positive rate while decreasing the false positive rate, multiple candidate peaks were generated and then verified by the edge feature correlation method. By testing the proposed method with images captured on the highway, it was shown that the proposed method was able to overcome problems in previous implementations while being applied successfully to highway collision warning/avoidance conditions, In addition, comparisons with laser radar showed that vision sensors with a wider FOV (Field Of View) provided faster responses to cutting-in vehicles. Finally, we integrated the proposed method into a longitudinal collision avoidance system. Experimental results showed that activated braking by risk assessment using the state of the ego-vehicle and measuring the distance to upcoming obstacles could successfully prevent collisions.
This study analyzes the attitudes of users who use the automatic-play function of mobile-games. It also observes changes in different emotions to enjoyment. For the analysis, the Q methodology appropriate for the subjectivity study was used, and it classified two types of attitudes based on the analysis. After the classification, it defined the characteristic of each type based on Lazzaro's theory on classification of fun. Types with high rate of convenience feature dependency utilize automatic-play feature to play games for collecting and growth, and they prefer managing the game outdoors. Another type enjoyed the experience of problem solving through games. They want the process to be a good skill to possess in game-play. There was also a tendency to perceive oneself as the game's character. Both types were responded positively to using automatic-play to play mobile-games. This is expected to be used as important data for game production, leading to usability evaluation for analyzing the emotional sensitivity of mobile game users.

As electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are generally sampled with a frequency of over 200 Hz, a method to compress diagnostic information without losing data is required to store and transmit them efficiently on a wireless personal area network (WPAN). In this paper, an ECG signal compression method for communications onWPAN, which uses feature points based on curvature, is proposed. The feature points of P, Q, R, S, and T waves, which are critical components of the ECG signal, have large curvature values compared to other vertexes. Thus, these vertexes were extracted with the proposed method, which uses local extrema of curvatures. Furthermore, in order to minimize reconstruction errors of the ECG signal, extra vertexes were added according to the iterative vertex selectionmethod. Through the experimental results on the ECG signals from Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Beth Israel hospital arrhythmia database, it was concluded that the vertexes selected by the proposed method preserved all feature points of the ECG signals. In addition, it was more efficient than the amplitude zone time epoch coding method.
Background: Males have a higher prevalence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) than females in general, but the reasons for the sex disparity are still obscure. DNA copy number alteration (CNA) is a major feature of solid tumors including HCC, but whether CNA plays a role in sex-related differences in HCC development has never been evaluated. Methods: High-resolution array comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was used to examine 17 female and 46 male HCC patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in Shanghai, China. Two-tailed Fisher's exact or ${\chi}^2$ tests was used to compare CNAs between females and males. Results: The overall frequencies and patterns of CNAs in female and male cases were similar. However, female HCC tumors presented more copy number gains compared to those in males on 1q21.3-q22 (76.5% vs. 37.0%, P = 0.009), 11q11 (35.3% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.0002) and 19q13.31-q13.32 (23.5% vs. 0.0%, P = 0.004), and loss on 16p11.2 (35.3% vs. 6.5%, P = 0.009). Relative to females, male cases had greater copy number loss on 11q11 (63.0% vs. 17.6%, P = 0.002). Further analyses showed that 11q11 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.042), 11q11 loss (P = 0.011) and 16p11.2 loss (P = 0.033), while 1q21.3-q22 gain correlated with 19q13.31-q13.32 gain (P = 0.046). Conclusions: These findings suggest that CNAs may play a role in sex-related differences in HBVassociated HCC development.
Utilizing Q methodology, this study explored typology on journalists' barriers to science reporting. Two research issues were raised: First, what are the subjectivity factors and characteristic feature of journalist's barriers to science reporting; Second, what are the commonalities and differences among them. 20 science journalists were interviewed in-depth to find out their subjectivity factors. Korean journalists' type of barriers to science reporting could be classified into 4 groups as follows: Type I(N=8) is "reporting tendency barrier" type. Type II(N=3) is named for "institutional and systematic framework barrier". Type 3(N=5) belongs to "situational barrier" type. Type 4(N=3) is "scientific knowledge barrier" type.

This study aims to analysis the types of features of confucian values of China normal university students. To achieve this purpose, Q methodology is applied. This study was conducted at Sichuan Normal University in China. Total 42 students and 47 statements collected through literature research. The implementation were formed in four types, statism, traditionalism, nominalism, and naturalism. Through this study, from the perspective of international relations, family relations, and friendship, all four type of features were presented intellectualized intelligentiae. The common feature of the four types is gender role, and the cognition of gender role is changing, and women will becoming an independent individual. Although confucian values had made great contribution for the development of Chinese traditional culture, it is an undeniable fact that some ideas not according with the modern social demand for development are hidden in the back. And we should look at and appreciate confucian values from a comprehensive and dialectic view.
Korean is a wh-in-situ language where the wh-expression stays in situ with an obligatory Q-particle marking its interrogative scope. This paper briefly reviews some basic properties of the wh-question construction in Korean and shows how a typed feature structure grammar, HPSG (Pollard and Sag 1994, Sag et al. 2003), together with the notions of 'type hierarchy' and 'constructions', can provide a robust basis for parsing the wh-construction in the language. We show that this system induces robust syntactic structures as well as enriched semantic representations for real-time applications such as machine translation, which require deep processing of the phenomena concerned.
