Safety, High Quality, Confidence of Kaneka CoQ10

  • Kaneka Corporation (Kaneka) has been manufacturing CoQ10 under GMP regulation since 1977. Kaneka has a sophisticated quality control system and has been supplying high quality CoQ10 materials to the worldwide customers (Kaneka CoQ10) for about 30 years. Kaneka CoQ10 is characterized by a lot of safety data, which are derived from clinical trials with healthy volunteers (single-dose and 4-week multi-dose safety studies), animal studies (13-week sub-chronic study in dogs and 52-week chronic study in rats), three types of mutagenicity test, six type of skin irritation test (for cosmetics), and others. The risk assessment of CoQ10 was performed by Council for Responsible Nutrition (USA). They reviewed many of available clinical data including clinical trials using Kaneka Q10, and concluded that the upper level for supplements (ULS) of CoQ10 is 1,200mg/day (Hathcock and Shao. 2006, Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, $\underline{45}$, 282 - 288).

Recognition on Suicidal Intent of the Elderly among Caregivers: A Q-Methodological Application (노인 자살의도에 대한 주부양자의 인식: Q-방법론 적용)

  • Purpose: This study's purpose is to classify and analyze caregivers' recognition of the elderly suicidal intents. Methods: This study uses applied Q-methodology to measure human subjectivity in depth. Concretely, 35 statements are composed in depth interviews and literature investigation. Then, Q-cards and distributive chart of Q-sampling were given to 25 caregivers randomly-selected, who were asked to arrange them on a 7-score based. After coding Q-factor analysis is carried out with the PC-QUANL program. Results: Four types of indicators of the elderly suicidal intents were identified by the caregivers. These are Knowledge-based recognition, Behavioral measure based recognition, Negative comprehension and Sympathy. Conclusion: In this study, four types of recognition were yielded among the caregivers and the characteristics of each type were analyzed. These findings may be useful in assessing suicidal potential and nursing interventions.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to introduce a new type of $q$-Euler numbers and polynomials with weak weight (${\alpha}$,${\omega}$): $\tilde{E}^{({\alpha},{\omega})}_{n,q}$ and $\tilde{E}^{({\alpha},{\omega})}_{n,q}(x)$, respectively. By using the fermionic $p$-adic $q$-integral on $\mathbb{Z}_p$, we can obtain some results and derive some recurrence identities for the $q$-Euler numbers and polynomials with weak weight (${\alpha}$,${\omega}$).

  • In this paper, we introduce and study a new class containing absolutely summing multilinear mappings and polynomials, which we call multiple weakly summing multilinear mappings and polynomials. We investigate some interesting properties about multiple weakly ($p$; $q_1$, ${\cdots}$, $q_k$)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials defined on Banach spaces: In particular, we prove a kind of Dvoretzky-Rogers' Theorem and an ideal property for multiple weakly ($p$; $q_1$, ${\cdots}$, $q_k$)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials. We also prove that the Aron-Berner extensions of multiple weakly ($p$; $q_1$, ${\cdots}$, $q_k$)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials are also multiple weakly ($p$; $q_1$, ${\cdots}$, $q_k$)-summing.

  • In this paper, the effect of absolute values on the behavior of functions f in the spaces $\mathcal{Q}_K$ is investigated. It is clear that $g{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}}){\Rightarrow}{\mid}g{\mid}{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}})$, but the converse is not always true. For f in the Hardy space $H^2$, we give a condition involving the modulus of the function only, such that the condition together with ${\mid}f{\mid}{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}})$ is equivalent to $f{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K$. As an application, a new criterion for inner-outer factorisation of $\mathcal{Q}_K$ spaces is given. These results are also new for $Q_p$ spaces.

Deletion or Duplication Syndromes of Chromosome 22: Review

  • Chromosome 22 is an acrocentric chromosome containing 500-600 genes, representing 1.5%-2% of the total DNA in cells. It was the first human chromosome to be fully sequenced by the Human Genome Project. Several syndromes involving the partial deletion or duplication of chromosome 22 are well descibed, including 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, 22q11.2 duplication syndrome, 22q11.2 distal deletion syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome caused by a 22q13 deletion or pathogenic variant in SHANK3, and cat-eye syndrome caused by a 22 pter-q11 duplication. This review aims to provide concise information on the clinical characteristics of these syndromes. In particular, the similarities in features among these syndromes, genetic basis, and standard detection techniques are described, providing guidance for diagnosis and genetic counselling.

A Study on the Correlation between Standard Penetration Resistance Value and Static Cone Penetration Resistance Value of the Soft Ground Subsurface of Yongdong Area (표준관입저항치와 정적콘관입저항치의 상관성에 관한 연구 - 영동지역의 연약지반을 중심으로 -)

  • We have conducted standard penetration tests and static cone penetration tests that are widely used the land base examination on the soft ground subsurface of Yongdong area, and examined the correlation between them. We have also made a comparative analysis of the correlation between the indoor tests on the materials collected on the site and on-the-spot penetration tests. The results are as follows : The relationship between Standard Penetration Test N-value and Dutch Cone Tset show $Q_c=1.93N+0.29$ for organic soil, $Q_c=2.19N+0.20$ for clay, $Q_c=2.34N+1.06$ for silt, $Q_c=3.02N+0.54$ for silty sand, and $Q_c=3.47N+0.46$ for sand. In this case of sand $Q_c/N$ increases when the soil particles are larger. The relationship between standard penetration test N-value and Unconfined Compression Strength $q_u$ show $q_u=0.11N+0.03$ for organic soil, $q_u=0.11N+0.25$ for clay, and $q_u=0.18N-0.03$ for silt.

  • Consider a Sobolev inner product on the space of polynomials such as $$ \phi(p,q) = \lambda p(c)q(c) + <\tau,p'(x)q'(x)> $$ where $\tau$ is a moment functional and c and $\lambda$ are real constants. We investigate properties of orthogonal polynomials relative to $\phi(\cdot,\cdot)$ and give necessary and sufficient conditions under which such Sobolev orthogonal polynomials satisfy a spectral type differential equation with polynomial coefficients.

  • In this paper, we prove that $x^{1+\frac{q-1}{5}} + ax (a \neq 0)$ is not a permutation polynomial over $F_{q^r} (r \geq 2)$ and we show some properties of $x^{1+\frac{q-1}{m}} + ax (a \neq 0)$ over $F_{q^r} (r \geq 2)$.

  • Using more general form of the notion of quasi-coincidence of a fuzzy point with a fuzzy subset, the notion of ($({\in},{\in}{\bigvee}q_{\kappa})$)-fuzzy BCK-filters is introduced, and related properties are investigated. Many characterizations of ($({\in},{\in}{\bigvee}q_{\kappa})$)-fuzzy BCK-filters are provided. Relations between an ($({\in},{\in}{\bigvee}q_{\kappa})$)-fuzzy BCK-filter and a fuzzy BCK-filter are established.
