현재 알려진 피타고라스의 정리의 증명은 370여 가지가 될 정도로 다양한 증명 방법이 소개되고 있으며 이를 통해 증명 방법의 분석에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 피타고라스의 정리의 일반화에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유클리드 '원론'의 1권 명제47에 제시된 내용을 바탕으로 수학적 자료 즉, 데이터(길이, 넓이, 각의 크기 등)를 추출하여 학교수학 및 문헌 연구를 통해 피타고라스 정리의 일반화에 관한 다양한 방법을 고찰하였다.

본 논문에서는 평면 다항식 피타고리안 호도그라프 곡선을 그 근들의 관점에서 특별한 기하학적 재 매개화하는 것에 관하여 연구한다. 피타고라스 호도그라프 곡선들은 그 호도그라프의 근들에 의하여 완전히 결정된다. 피타고라스 호도그라프 곡선들의 근들의 자취는 아주 흥미로운 기하학적 성질들을 만족함을 보인다.

Pythagorean thoerem exists in several equivalent forms in the Euclidean plane, that is, the Hilbert plane which in addition satisfies the parallel axiom. In this article, we investigate the truthness and mutual relationships of those propositions in various non-Hilbert planes which satisfy the parallel axiom and all the Hilbert axioms except the SAS axiom.

Rational parameterization of curves and surfaces is one of the main topics in computer-aided geometric design because of their computational advantages. Pythagorean hodograph (PH) curves and Minkowski Pythagorean hodograph (MPH) curves have attracted many researcher's interest because they provide for rational representation of their offset curves in Euclidean space and Minkowski space, respectively. In [10], Kim presented the characterization of the PH curves in the Euclidean space and analyzed the relation between the class of PH curves and the class of rational curves. In this paper, we extend the characterization of PH curves in [10] into that of MPH curves in the general Minkowski space and consider some generalized MPH curves satisfying this characterization.

This paper aims to apply the concept of Pythagorean fuzzy soft sets (PFSSs) to UP-algebras. Then we introduce five types of PFSSs over UP-algebras, study their generalization, and provide illustrative examples. In addition, we study the results of four operations of two PFSSs over UP-algebras, namely, the union, the restricted union, the intersection, and the extended intersection. Finally, we will also discuss t-level subsets of PFSSs over UP-algebras to study the relationships between PFSSs and special subsets of UP-algebras.

In this paper, we investigate the origin of Euclid's fifth postulate. For this we analyze the Euclid's proof of the Pythagorean theorem, so form a hypothesis "The Euclid's fifth postulate originated from the Pythagorean theorem." And we test our hypothesis by some historical evidences.evidences.

In this paper, we demonstrate the Pythagorean Theorem by using the computer geometric software, Geometer's Skechpad(GSP) in stead of Eucliean logical proof. Also, we show that two applications of Pythagorean Theorem. The one is constructed by the fact that $ka^2+kb^2=kc^2$, where k is a constant, the other is made by the fractal.

We invoke the characterization of Pythagorean-hodograph polynomial curves and prove that it is impossible to parameterize any real curves, other than a straight line, by rational functions of its arc length.

한국프로야구에서 팀의 승률을 예측하는 것은 야구팬들에게중요한 관심사이다. 팀들의 승률을 1982년부터 2015년까지의 모든 한국프로야구 기록을 이용하여 야구의 피타고라스 모형과 선형회귀모형을 사용하여 추정하고 평균제곱오차의 제곱근 (root mean squared error; RMSE)을 이용하여 상대적 효율성을 비교하였다. 결론적으로 승률이 높거나 낮은 경우에는 피타고라스 모형, 승률이 50% 근방에서는 선형회귀모형이 각각 효율성이 뛰어났다. 또한 전체데이터를 사용하는 경우에는 피타고라스모형이 상대적 효율성이 좋았으며, 효율성이 비슷하면 선형회귀모형이 사용과 이해도의 측면에서 좀 더 바람직하다고 할 수 있다.

본 연구에서는 한국프로야구에서 팀의 득점과 실점을 가지고 시즌 승률을 예측하는 야구의 피타고라스 정리에 의한 기대승률의 수렴특성을 살펴보았다. 사용한 자료는 2005년부터 2014년까지의 한국프로야구 정규시즌 초부터 정규시즌 말까지의 팀대 팀 전체기록이며, 그 결과 야구 팀의 특징 중에서 팀의 순위와 경기진행률이 수렴특성에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 팀의 순위는 하위 팀들의 기대승률이 최종 기대승률에 빨리 수렴하였으며, 경기진행률은 20% 이하에는 최종 기대승률과 많은 차이를 보였으나 70% 이상부터는 통계적으로 최종 기대승률과 유의한 차이가 발생하지 않았다.
