Purchasing Behavior and Purchasing Intention Toward Fashion Counterfeits : A Cross-Cultural Study of Koreans and U.S. (패션 복제품(複製品) 구매실태(購買實態)및 구매의도(購買意圖)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究): 한(韓).미(美) 소비자(消費者) 비교(比較))

  • The purpose of this study was to examine fashion counterfeit purchasing behavior and purchasing intention among Koreans and Americans. 486 female college students were surveyed for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, 2-test, and t-test were used. As the results, generally Korean consumers had purchased more fashion counterfeits than American consumers. There were significantly differences between two groups on 5 fashoin brand counterfeits. That is, handbag of PRADA or LOUIS VUITTON, shoes of Ferragamo, or Gucci, clothing of DKNY, PRADA, or CK, sunglass of Gucci or Channel, and accessories of Agatha, Cartier, or Tiffany were purchased by Korean consumers much more than by U.S consumers. Also, Koreans had more higher purchasing intentions toward fashion counterfeits than Americans except clothing. Based on these results, fashion marketing would be suggested.

The Impact of Servicescape on Purchasing Behavior : A Case of Baby Goods Exhibition (유아용품 전시박람회의 서비스스케이프가 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - The exhibition is one of the critical distribution channels that leads to mass sales of products. Servicescape is considered as an effective means facilitating consumers' purchasing behavior. The objective of this research is to examine the effects of servicescape of the exhibition on consumer's purchasing behavior measured by time spent, the number of consultations, the number of items purchased, and amount of money spent. Research design, data, and methodology - Servicescape was divided into four main components: 'spatial layout/functionality', 'ambient condition', 'design/artifacts', and 'human factor'. Based on previous studies, this study hypothesized that servicescape dimensions first influence consumer's shopping duration and the number of consultations which in turn, affects consumer's actual purchase. A total of 407 samples were collected from attendees in Baby Expo taken place in Kyunggido, South Korea. The data were used to assess overall fit of the proposed model and test hypotheses using structural equation modeling. All the constructs had acceptable levels of composite reliability and convergent and discriminant validity. Results - The results showed that except for 'spatial layout/functionality', all components of servicescape had a significant influence on consumer's shopping duration in the exhibition. Except for 'design/artifacts', other factors of servicescape did not show a significant effect on 'the number of consultations'. Interestingly, 'design/artifacts' exerted a significant negative effect on 'the number of consultations'. As expected, 'time spent' and 'number of consultations' showed significant effects on both 'the number of items purchased' and 'amount of money spent'. Conclusions - The results offer some insights into the effect of servicescape on facilitating consumers' purchasing behavior in the context of the exhibition. Theoretically, this study provides a new type of conceptual framework that verifies the relationships between not only servicescape and purchasing behavior, but also purchasing behavior-related variables. In addition, this study supports the concept of a dark side of servicescape. With regards to practical implications, this study suggests that exhibition organizers should put more efforts in facilitating consumer's desire to stay. More importantly, organizers need to keep in mind that excessive emphasis on 'design/artifacts' to increase consumers' shopping duration can cause a side effect that reduces opportunities for interactions with customers.

  • The purposes of this study were to explain consumer attitude, behavioral intention and behavior(expenses) in the purchase of Han-gwa and to explore the influencing factors on them. To achieve these purposes, the Heckman two-step model was utilized to utilize the recursive system of attitude, behavioral intention and behavior. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Seventy-six percent of consumers presented their favorable altitudes to purchase Han-gwa, while $47\%$ of consumers had behavioral intention for purchasing Han-gwa. In addition, purchasing expense of Han-gwa per year as a proxy variable of behavior was less than 100,000 won for most consumers. 2) First, consumer attitude was found to be significantly influenced by the type of family and food safety. Second, the behavioral intention for purchasing Han-gwa was found to be significantly influenced by consumer attitude, age, income, education and price. Finally, consumer behavior(expenses) of purchasing Han-gwa was found to be significantly influenced by the behavioral intention, income and purchasing place.

Shoes Purchasing Behavior and Wearing Satisfaction Related with Lifestyle of High School Girls (여고생의 라이프스타일에 따른 신발 구매 행동과 착용만족도)

  • Teenagers are considered as one of important consumer groups by marketers because of their high purchasing power and impulsive purchasing propensity. Especially high school girls are most significant purchasing group of them. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of high school girls' lifestyle on shoes purchasing behavior and shoes wearing satisfaction. This study surveyed 428 high school girls in Seoul and Chonbuk area. Data were statistically analyzed using SAS 9.1.3 for Window. Major statistical methods are factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, cluster analysis, frequency analysis, Chi-square test, multiple regression analysis, ANOVA and Duncan test. The shoes purchasing behavior is significantly different according to students' lifestyle. Activity-pursuing group's major shoes purchasing factor is practical use and fashion & scholar-pursuing group's major shoes purchasing factors are fashion and brand. Relationship between lifestyle and shoes purchasing pattern is as follows. Activity-pursuing group and fashion & scholar-pursuing group purchased shoes more frequently than family-pursuing group. Fashion & scholar-pursuing-group purchased shoes for the harmony of suit and shoes. As for wearing satisfaction, design is the primary factor and price was the least significant factor in sports shoes, while durability is the primary factor and material is the least significant factor for the casual shoes.

  • The purpose of this research is to grasp the factors behind a mother's behavior in purchasing baby's clothes and to investigate how her purchasing behavior is affected by the baby's age, sex, rank, her age, her educational background, her place of residence, her occupation, the number of children's and family's monthly income. for this purpose, questionnaires were used and personal interviews with 481 mothers who bring up from newborns to two-year-old babies in Seoul ere conducted. Through this research, some facts have been found as follows. 1. Mother's behavior in purchasing baby's clothes are affected by baby's variables such as the baby's age, sex and rank, particularly it is much affected by baby's rank. 2. Mother's behavior in purchasing baby's cloths are affected by mother's variables such as the mother's age, educational background, place of residence, occupation, the number of children's and family's monthly income. Particularly it is much affected by mother's educational background and family's monthly income.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the post-purchasing behavior focusing on dissatisfaction and complaint behavior. There were some studies concerning dissatisfaction in on-line shopping related to satisfaction and intention to re-buying, but did not focus the relationship with complaint behavior, or identified the factors specifically related to consumer's dissatisfaction. In this study, it was examined to minimize the consumer's dissatisfaction and complaint behavior by investigating the detailed factors relating dissatisfactions and complaint behaviors after shopping apparel goods on the internet. Two hundred fifty five customers who had purchased fashion products in internet shopping had participated in this study. The data was analyzed by factor analysis, regression analysis using SPSS program. As the result, first, product, delivery, returning and price factor were extracted as factors of dissatisfaction, and as factors of complaint behavior, legal action, private action, remedial action were investigated. Second, dissatisfaction was significantly effected on complaint behavior. Specially, returning factor and price factor had effect on legal action, product, delivery factor had on private action and returning factor had affected remedial action. Third, more purchasing frequency, less dissatisfaction. Also, female had more dissatisfaction than male. Finally, more dissatisfaction and compliant behavior, less repurchasing intention. Based on these results, internet shopping fashion marketing strategies were suggested.

Children's Wear Purchasing Behavior by Retired Women and the Missy Group with a View to their Shopping Orientation (의복쇼핑성향에 따른 집단별 유아동복 구매행동의 세대 간 차이 -뉴실버세대와 신세대 주부를 중심으로-)

  • This study examines the children's wear purchasing behavior of younger generation women (the missy group) and in the new-silver generation (retired). The data collected in the study were examined with a view to establish effective marketing strategies within the children's wear market, a market where the age and characteristics of the actual purchasers of the products have become more diverse. A descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire was employed. The sample consisted of 398 females between the ages of 28 and 64 residing in Seoul and the Gyeonggi-do area. Data collected were analyzed by frequency, t-test, ANOVA, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and Cronbach's alpha coefficients. Respondents were classified into 4 groups by their clothes shopping orientation: conformable/brand conscious purchasing type, planned purchasing/enjoy shopping type, store/brand loyal impulse-oriented type, and dependent/low shopping interest type. There were differences between the missy and the new- silver generations under consideration. It is clear from the study that, even though some individuals of the missy group and of new-silver group belonged to the same shopping orientation type, individuals still showed differences with regard to children's wear purchasing behavior.

Clothing Purchasing Behavior by Conspicuous Consumption and Imported-Brand Preferences (과시소비성향과 정장 수입브랜드선호에 따른 의복구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine conspicuous consuming tendency and imported-brand preferences based on purchasing behavior of clothing. 464 women living in Seoul were collected for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range teats, and $X^2-test$ were used. As the result, five factors in conspicuous consumption are generated from the factor analysis. Consumers with high conspicuous consumption prefer imported-brand clothing. According to the levels of conspicuous consumption, purchasing behaviors of clothing are significantly different in information usages, clothing selection evaluations, patronage store types, purchasing frequencies, and seasonal clothing expenditure. Finally, clothing purchasing behaviors are significantly different by imported-brand clothing preference in information usages, clothing selection standards, and patronage store types.

  • The purposes of this study were to explain consumer attitude and purchasing behavior, and coping strategy considering consumption emotions of technology and individual characteristics associated with high-tech products. The results of this study were as follows: consumer attitude was found to be somewhat favorable and a half of the respondents had some purchasing experience of high-tech products. Many consumers were more likely to perceive consumption emotion and some of coping strategies were found to be preferred to others. Then consumer attitude was found to be significantly influenced by some of the consumption emotion, while other individual characteristics were found to be insignificant. In addition, the purchasing experience was found to be significantly influenced by consumer attitude, marital status and education. Finally, each kind of consumption emotion might have a relation to several coping strategies.

Effect of Factors Affecting Adolescents' Perfume Purchasing Behavior on Purchasing Satisfaction

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of perfume purchasing behavioral factors on purchase satisfaction with 328 adolescents. Conclusions: In conclusion, it was found that among the six factors affecting purchasing behavior of perfume, the variables that had a statistically significant effect on purchase satisfaction were internal pleasure-seeking (p.<001) and fashion-seeking (p.<001). This is thought to affect purchase satisfaction by reflecting attractive images, favorable feelings, and pleasure by using perfumes preferred by adolescents. In addition, it is thought that the psychological characteristics of adolescents who want to follow trends while pursuing trends when purchasing perfumes are reflected.
