  • The construction of concrete slab track system is increased because the system has advantages which are maintenance free and so on, the other side, the system has weak points such as increase of the cost of the early stage construction and noise levels. Currently, concrete slab track systems has been designed for Gyungbu high speed line stage 2 and Honam high speed line. For those tracks, noise absorbing blocks are considered. Therefore, test methods and proper criteria for structural performance and reduction efficiency of noise absorbing blocks are required. The aim of this study is to provide provisons for installing acoustic-absorptive block on slab tracks.

Case Study on Installation of Aids to Navigation Along the Inland Waterways

  • Road and maritime transport which connecting main cities in the world is already fully saturated, and the loss cost caused by recent high oil prices is getting bigger. Transportation by inland waterway is rising as an alternative method of them. Concerning this, the GI Waterway is on construction to connect the Yellow sea and Seoul. Nevertheless, there are no existing aids to navigation around the area and no studies have been carried out for them. As the construction progresses, installation of proper aids to navigation should be considered and profound studies need to be carried out. This study focused on introduction of the cases and the systems of other countries inland waterway aids to navigation and suggested a suitable navigation aids system along the inland waterways in Korea and a way of installation for that system.

  • Recently, there are many attempts to expand a temporary soil nailing system into a permanent wall due to the advantage of soil nailing system, that is efficient and economic use of underground space and decreasing the total construction cost. However, the proper design approach of a permanent soil nailing system has not been proposed by now in Korea. Permanent soil nailing system which utilizes precast concrete walls for the facing of soil nailing system Is already used in many countries. In general, the cast-in-place concrete facings or rigid walls were constructed in bottom-up way after construction of soil nailing walls finished preliminarily In this paper, various laboratory model tests have been carried out to investigate the failure mode, behavior characteristics, and tensile force at nail head in each load level in respects of the variation of stiffness of the facing.

  • Roller-compacted concrete(RCC) dam have gained acceptance worldwide in a relatively short time due to their low cost, which is derived in part from their rapid method of construction. And RCC has recently emerged as an economically attractive material for dam construction, replacing the use of conventional concrete and even challenging the economics of earthfill and rockfill embankment dams. There are existing two major mix design methods. one used in USA and the other used in Japan. In this study, proper mix proportions of concrete for RCC dam is obtained using method of compound their merit.

A Review of Nanomaterials in Cement-Based Composite

  • This paper reviews the development condition of nanomaterials used in concrete over years. The definitions of nanomaterial, nanotechnology, and nano-concrete are reviewed. The impacts of nanomaterials on cementitious material in the point of advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. Moreover, this paper analyzes and classifies the nanomaterials into the extra quality enhancement and modification to plain cementitious composite. Indeed, the outstanding properties of the embedded nanomaterials can be introduced to concrete such as the mechanical improvement, pore structure refinement, hydrate acceleration, and smartness modifying of self-cleaning, and/or self-sensing. Before the full potential of nanotechnology can be realized in concrete applications, various techniques have to be solved including proper dispersion, compatibility of the nanomaterials in cement, processing, manufacturing, safety, handling issues, scale-up, cost, the impact on the environment and human health.

무주 태권도원 현장 색채계획 시공단계 프로세스 적용사례연구 (A Study on the Case of Application of a Process at the Construction Stage of the Color Planning at the Construction Site of Muju Taekwondo Park)

  • In order to maintain and protect professionalism in color planning, the present study examined the process at the time of realization of color through color inspection and supervision in the actual construction site and suggested plans for improvement. Reflecting the characteristics that the governing body of the construction site is not a private person but an organization, the present study aims to provide institutional measures so that the supervisor of color construction at the actual site of construction can propose concerns related to proper construction at the right time, and the matters cannot be decided from the perspective of a layman. The institutional measures are proposed through the case of application of a process at the construction stage of the color planning at the construction site of Muju Taekwondo Park. First, the process clarified where the responsibility lies by specifying special conditions concerning color inspection on the field guide and color contract. Second, the sample for building materials was selected after obtaining it from a company capable of supply and is appropriate for the planned unit cost so that it could play an important role in realizing colors at the stage of basic design. Third, the process of construction was ensured not by temporary selection of colors but by continuous approval of colors in consideration of the conditions of construction site through letter of approval of color at each stage and point of time. Fourth, coordination of various color elements of other fields including landscape, interior, and electricity ensured construction of the whole structure in one color concept. Fifth, color inspection through the mock up of the site will minimize erroneous construction and reconstruction and prevent decrease in productivity. Sixth, this study also suggested more comfortable and positive color environment through evaluation by experts and users. The researcher of this study expects that color experts actively participate in the stage of construction to contribute to improvement of the color environment.

대표공종 기반의 PSC Box 교량 상부공사 개략공사비 산정모델에 관한 연구 (Development of the Approximate Cost Estimating Model for PSC Box Girder Bridge based on the Breakdown of Standard Work)

  • 국내 도로 건설사업의 사업초기단계에서의 개략공사비 산정은 예비타당성조사, 도로업무편람, 투자평가지침에서 제시하는 도로의 평균단가 또는 표준단가를 기준으로 도출되는데 이는 공사비 산정 표준체계 부재 및 기초자료 갱신 평균단가를 적용하여 공사비를 산출하는 방식으로 본 연구의 대상인 특수 교량공사의 특성을 전부 반영하기에 미흡한 실정이다. 또한, 신속한 의사결정이나 대안선택이 결정되는 설계단계에서 소모적이고 획일적인 공사비 산정방식의 한계점을 개선하고 사업초기단계의 개략공사비산정 프로세스의 효율성 및 신뢰도를 높이기 위한 새로운 공사비 산정 모델을 개발이 요구된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 평균건설단가를 적용하여 개략 공사비를 산출하는 기존 방식에서 벗어나 대표공종 기반의 상세물량입력 모델을 구축하였다. 실적 공사비 데이터 및 공종별 원가자료를 기반으로 토목공사 수량산출 지침서 기준 전체 공종내역 중 공사비 누적비율 대비 95%이상을 차지하는 대표적인 공종을 도출하였다. 상부면적당 대표공종기반 단위물량 및 차로수별 공사비단가를 제시하고, 이를 활용하여 교량형식별로 상부면적당 공사비단가를 도출 및 검증을 통해 사업초기단계에서 업무추진 의사결정의 신뢰적 지원 및 효율적인 공사비 산정방식을 도출 하였다.

플랜트 건설현장의 작업반장 역할개선을 통한 위험율 저감방안 연구 (A study on hazard rate decrease plan in plant construction site by improving foreman's role)

  • Domestic plant construction sites have a tendency to become bigger, more various and complicated. Moreover frequency of industrial incident is increasing due to short project period, coexistence work condition and using heavy construction equipment. Installing safety facilities and safety training contribute to prevent incident. But mostly incident happens due to workers' unsafe action and wrong work method. Technically, it is very difficult for us to closely manage workers preventing incident. Therefore, the role of foreman who ordinarily works together with his workers is considered more important. Specific execution plan was drawn through industrial incident statistics from Ministry of Labor and questionnaire survey to interest parties(supervisor, safety staff and foreman). If foreman has raised sense of belonging and responsibility by conducting practical safety training for his workers, manages job site and receives proper compensation for these roles, it will be expected that it fully influences incident decrease.

건설프로젝트의 설계안전성 검토에 대한 인식 분석 및 개선방안 (An Awareness Analysis on the Design for Safety of Construction Project and Its Improvement Measures)

  • 정부는 안전사고의 근본원인을 기획 및 설계단계의 안전관리활동 부재라고 인식하고, 2016년 5월 DFS 제도를 의무화하였다. 그러나 아직까지 발주자 및 설계자들의 인지도는 매우 낮고, 추가적인 업무수행, 전문인력 부족 등의 다양한 사유로 제대로 정착되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 발주자 및 설계자에게 설문조사를 수행하여 DFS에 대한 인식을 분석하고, 업무수행상의 문제점을 도출하여 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하였다. DFS 업무 수행의 효율성 제고를 위한 개선방안은 위험요소 및 대책 발굴이 가능하고, 기관별 정보공유가 가능한 DFS업무 지원시스템의 구축이 가장 시급하다. 이와 동시에 DFS업무를 전담하여 수행할 전담조직의 구축 및 전문 인력의 양성과 이를 위한 교육프로그램의 개발, 그리고, 설계사무소에서 DFS업무 수행 시 필요한 비용에 대한 적정 대가 산정기준 정립이 시급히 요구된다.

Implementation of welding material quantity evaluation system combined with ship design CAD system

  • These days, the great part of design processes in the field of ship or offshore manufacturing are planned and implemented using the CAD system customized for shipbuilding companies. It means that all information for design and production could be extracted and reused at the other useful fields which need cost considerable time and efforts. The typical example is the field of welding material quantity evaluation which is demanded during the construction of ship or offshore structures. The proper evaluation of welding material to be used and the usage of them at the stage of schedule planning are mostly important to achieve the seamless process of production and costing in advance. This study is related to the calculation of welding length and needed welding material quantity at the stage of design completion utilizing the customized CAD system. The calculated welding material quantity would be classified according to welding posture, assembly stage, block, bevel and welding type so as to improve the accuracy of total cost evaluation. Moreover it is possible to predict the working time for welding operation and could be used efficiently for the cost management using the results of this research.
