Assessing the handling properties of coal becomes a major issue for the operation of a fuel supply system in power plants, due to the increased types of coal imported into Korea. In this study, the cohesion strengths of 13 bituminous and sub-bituminous coals from different countries were tested by measuring the amount of force that leads to a failure of consolidated particles. The particle size was in the range of 0.1-2.8 mm, which represents the coarse particles before pulverization. While the cohesion strength was proportional to the compression force in the tested range, the effects of the surface moisture content and the weight fraction of fines were crucial for cohesive coals. At fixed conditions of surface moisture and particle size, large variations were found in the cohesion propensity between coals. For coals of 0.1-0.5 mm with the moisture added close to the critical value, cohesive coals had the density over $900kg/m^3$ after consolidation. The cohesion propensity was not correlated with the basic properties of coals with sufficient statistical significance.
This study investigated differences in cosmetic buying behavior and personal characteristics between cosmetic involvement groups. Cosmetics buying behavior refers to reason for using cosmetics, use of information sources, selection criteria, place of purchase, use/non-use of cosmetics, purchase propensity, purchase frequency, purchase amount, and satisfaction with cosmetics. Personal characteristic contains pursuing image, age, residence area, job, and average household monthly income. Data was collected from 5-10 December 2016, from 308 females in their 20s using an internet survey. The analysis included descriptive statistics, t-tests, Mann-Whitney U tests, and chi-square tests. The respondents were divided into two groups (a high cosmetic involvement group and a low cosmetic involvement group) according to the degree of cosmetic involvement. The results of t-tests revealed significant differences between groups in terms of reasons for using cosmetics, use of information sources, selection criteria, purchase frequency, place of purchase, use/non-use of cosmetics, and satisfaction with cosmetics. The results of Mann-Whitney U tests highlighted a significant difference in purchase frequency between both groups. The results of chi-square tests indicated significant differences in purchase frequency, purchase amount, pursuing image, and average household monthly income. However, no significant differences were evident in terms of purchase propensity, age, job, and area of residence between groups.
The purpose of this study is to identify patient and hospital characteristics with pulmonary tuberculosis and to analyze factors which were influencing length of stay and treatment. The Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury Survey database from 2006 to 2012 was used for analysis. Study subjects were 4,704 patients and analyzed by using frequency, chi-square and logistic regression through using STATA 12.0. To avoid selection bias, we used propensity score matching. Analysis results show that the length of stay and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis was different between insurance types. Patients characteristic(female, comorbidity, admission by outpatient department, medical insurance type) and hospital characteristic(500-999 beds, over 1000 beds) significantly influence length of stay. Admission by outpatient department and over 1000 beds are significantly influence treatment. Based on these findings, it is necessary to clarify between length of stay and treatment outcome by medical aids beneficiaries and audit hospitals follow discharge guidelines in pulmonary tuberculosis patients.
High quality-oriented consumers, new rationalism and concept-oriented consumption followed by high sensitivity fashion market are embossing the importance of fashion M.D. This study has a purpose to make practical and general approach to consumers' taste, trend receptivity, the propensity to consume, and how they are practically connected with market strategy. As a results of this study, First niche market, targeting a new consumer group, is embossed as consumers have new fashion lifestyle. Second, we need a strategy to fractionize fashion by developing concepts suitable for consumers' each scene, not by following radical trends for mature consumers. Third, to satisfy consumers' propensity to originally, we need to establish the identity of Korean original goods which can compete with world-famous brands.

The objective of this study is to investigate what factors influence a major role in building trust on Internet shopping mall and to examine whether these factors on trust have differences between Korean and Chinese users. Based on relevant literature review, this study posits six factors of transaction security, perceived reputation, Perceived size, interactivity, propensity of trust, and familiarity as key determinants of trust in internet shopping mall. Analysis of 470 responses(Korean: 320 users, Chinese: 150 users) of survey questionnaire indicates the following; First, in terms of the relationship between influencing factors and the trust, five factors of transaction security, perceived reputation, perceived size, interactivity, and propensity to trust have a significant positive effects on the trust. Second, the differences between Korean and Chinese users are transaction security, perceived size, and familiarity. In conclusions, we suggested the factors to create user trust in internet shopping mall. Also we suggested differences in the determinant factors between Korean and Chinese users, and discussed some policies to build the trust in each user types.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing involvement of rural healing tourism participants. The hierarchical regression analysis was applied for this study. In the first stage, age, educational level, and motivation(physical cure) had a positive effect on involvement. However, Occupation(public officials/faculty staff) had a negative effect on involvement. In the second stage, age, educational level, motivation(physical cure), and propensity to pursue wellness had a positive effect on involvement. In the third stage, age, educational level, propensity to pursue wellness, attention restoration awareness, and rural healing tourism satisfaction had a positive effect on involvement. The results of this study show that not only the characteristics of rural healing tourists, but also positive experiences in healing tourism have the greatest influence on tourists' involvement. The results of this study suggest practical implications for how to effectively increase the degree of tourists' involvement in healing tourism.
This study presents how two types of integrated science and engineering lessons affect students' engineering problem solving skills and their perceptions of engineering. In total, 146 middle school students participated in this study. Eighty-six students participated in the Type I lesson (complete engineering design lesson with a science knowledge application) and 60 students participated in the Type II lesson (engineering design without a science knowledge application). Two main datasets, (1) students' Creative Engineering Problem Solving Propensity (CEPSP) measurement scores and (2) open-ended survey questions about students' perceptions of engineering, were collected before and after the lessons. The results of this study show that after participating in the Type I lesson, students' CEPSP scores significantly increased, whereas the CEPSP scores of the students who participated in the Type II lesson did not increase significantly. In addition, students who participated in the Type I lesson perceived engineering and the engineering integrated science lesson differently compared to the students who participated in the Type II lesson. The results of this study show that engineering integrated science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) lessons should include a complete engineering design and a science knowledge application to improve students' engineering problem solving skills.
Spontaneous combustion propensity of various coals of carbonization grade as a pulverized fuel of coal-fired power plant has been tested from an initial temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$ by heating in an oven with air to analyze the self-oxidation starting temperature. These tests produce CPT (Cross Point Temperature), IT (Ignition temperature), and CPS (Cross Point Slope) calculated as the slope of time taken for a rapid exothermic oxidation reaction at CPT base. CPS shows a carbonization rank dependence whereby wood pellet has the highest propensity to spontaneous combustion of $20.995^{\circ}C/min$. A sub-bituminous KIDECO coal shows a CPS value of $15.370^{\circ}C/min$, whereas pet coke has the highest carbonization rank at $2.950^{\circ}C/min$. The nature of this trend is most likely attributable to a concentration of volatile matter and oxygen functional groups of coal surface that governs the available component for oxidation, as well as surface area of fuel char, and constant pressure molar heat.

This study attempts to seek a solution, in terms of brain science, to stimulate reading activities of men to whom no attention has been given from the field of reading. In order to do so, brain pattern, reading tendency, reading preference, reading effectiveness and influence of reading were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, first, it showed that respondents' characteristics did not affect brain patterns, but school and social influences on reading were found to affect brain patterns. Second, reading propensity according to gender was observed to be different in terms of personal health, personal self - esteem, and cultural artistry. On the other hand, reading effectiveness was found to be different in terms of reading engagement and the willingness to continue reading whereas reading propensity according to the brain pattern was different in books related to humor and family matters. Third, reading satisfaction, reading engagement and willingness to continue reading all were observed to affect the reading activities of men. Suggesting measures to stimulate reading activities of men based on such findings, first, implementing dynamic reading education programs and finding reading models for men are needed. Second, when selecting books for reading program operations, books should be recommended according to gender rather than being selected en bloc by libraries. Third, since reading education at home shows high influences on both male and male-type brain pattern, the starting point of reading education should be made at homes. In particular, fathers, who can become a role model for men, need a reading role model, and reading education programs for fathers are also required.
