  • The purpose of this study is to explore adolescent depression, increase understanding of social problems, and develop prevention and intervention strategies. As a research method, social big data was used to collect information related to 'youth depression', and related factors were identified through data mining and analysis of related rules. We used 'Sometrend Biz Tool' to collect and clean data from the web and then analyzed data in various languages. The study found that online articles about depression decreased during the school holidays (January to March), then increased from March to the end of June, and then decreased again from July. Therefore, it is important to establish a government-wide depression management monitoring system that can detect risk signs of adolescent depression in real time. In addition, regular stress relief and mental health education are needed during the semester, and measures must be prepared to deal with at-risk youth who share their depressed feelings in cyberspace. Results from these studies can be expected to provide important information in investigating and preventing youth depression and to contribute to policy development and intervention.

In order to evaluate the status of the current SI technology, the MBNQA(Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award) is adopted. The surveyed results show that the average levels of 14 SI companies over 7 evaluation criteria turn out to be 30% through 40% point. The major projects' activities of the SI companies on the information systems over the areas of trade, science and technology, industrial manpower, health and welfare, national security, etc are explained. Also, the competitive power of the SI companies is also discussed. As a target sample, the Korea Telecom(KT) CALS model project is described in terms of its Progresses and Problems. Furthermore, the strategic plans and detailed research items are proposed to resolve on-going issues.

  • This study was conducted to explore the relationship between stress and the quality of life experienced by people with disabilities and to provide essential data for improving their quality of life and promoting their health. The data collection period was from November 2023 to January 2024. Fifty questionnaires were distributed, and 48 copies were used, excluding unfaithful responses. As a result of the study, since people with moderate disabilities show hesitancy in all of their daily life processes, not only physical rehabilitation but also psychological rehabilitation should be necessary so that they can accept their bodies that have turned into disabilities. In addition, programs for the acceptance of disabilities for people with moderate disabilities should be designed to recover more widely. In the future, education and psychological programs should be activated to overcome the symptoms of moderate disability and receive related information. Finally, disability awareness education should be further subdivided to bring about changes in the perception of disabilities.

  • When situated in green landscapes, water bodies play a crucial role in positively influencing mood and mental health, yet research on the cognitive mechanisms underlying these therapeutic effects is lacking. This study is intended to examine differences in brain function among adult males exposed to forest landscapes with or without water bodies. The wooded landscapes included views of a waterfall, a valley, and a forest without water. The control group was exposed to a local urban landscape. Twelve adult males participated in a field experiment in which prefrontal cortex (PFC) activity was measured using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). In the experiment, participants engaged in low-intensity walking in three forested areas with similar vegetation and climatic conditions. Participants showed significant differences in left PFC activity depending on whether they were in the three forested landscapes or in the control landscape (P < 0.01). An analysis of variance (ANOVA) confirmed that significantly lower left PFC activity was recorded in the wooded landscape containing a water view . Notably, the lowest PFC values recorded in the landscape with a waterfall view suggest that landscapes with dynamic water flow may be associated with greater therapeutic benefits in terms of PFC activity than static landscapes. Our results underscore that water is a critical aspect of a landscape due to its therapeutic benefits and should be incorporated in the planning and design of green spaces for health promotion.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning and structure of the experiences of 20 years old women who participated in the pregnancy recognition improvement program developed by JA Kim et al. The participants of the study were interviewed three times in total for 20 years old of 6 women. The interview period was from December 1 to December 30, 2018. The interview data were processed through the analysis and interpretation process using the phenomenological research of Giorgi method. As a result, 33 semantic units were derived, and then divided into 4 subcomponents and divided into 2 categories. After participating in the program, they tried to maintain their health, use appropriate welfare policies, and deeply consider their lives as mysterious mothers. In conclusion, this study suggests that the implementation of the pregnancy awareness improvement program for young women in a small group, more systematically and continuously, effectively implements low fertility measures in Korea.

Twelve older adults who participated in the 'YangSaeng Exercise' at the S Senior Welfare Service Center were interviewed through purposeful sampling method. Each participant was interviewed two times, and data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's(1988) grounded theory method. Centralization was appeared as 'An addiction to YangSaeng exercise' and causal conditions were appeared as 'Visiting Welfare Center' and 'Participation in YangSaeng exercise program' and situational context were appeared as 'Self-management of old ages' and 'For possession of Independent Life' as the results of Axial Coding. Moreover, arbitrational conditions were 'Coexistence of Regret and Attraction' and interaction strategies were appeared as 'Accept', 'Effort and Easing Mind' and 'Share Together'. As a result, 'Appreciation', 'YangSaeng Exercise that comes in my Life' and 'Softly Pitapat' were derived. Core category of 'Living Joyfully with comforted and eased' was selected through outline of story which means it contains Positivity and Expectations, Acceptance and Acknowledgement, Satisfaction and Appreciation, and Commitment and Hope. Based on the findings, we acknowledge that YangSaeng exercise plays a role in improving quality of life of older adults as a recreational activity. This study sheds light on the possibility of implementing 'YangSaeng Exercise' as a health promotion activity among older adults.

  • Purpose: The colorectal polyps has been regarded as a precursor of colon cancer, and the prevalence and mortality of colon cancer in Korea has increased due to westernized lifestyle and environmental factors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics and the risk factors on colorectal polyps in adults. Methods: The participants were 956 adults enrolled from health screen examinees underwent colonoscopy at the health promotion center in Seoul. Results: 49.5 percent of examinees has colorectal polyps and the most common sites were ascending colon (27.6%) and sigmoid colon (23.2%). The colorectal polyps showed a significant difference according to gender, age, and health behavior related characteristics including alcohol intake, exercise, and BMI. In male, the relative odds of having an colorectal polyps decreased as exercise (OR=1.74; 95% CI=1.01-1.04), and increased as BMI (OR=1.57; 95% CI=1.07-2.50) and age (OR=1.02; 95% CI=1.02-1.04). In female, it decreased as exercise (OR=2.49; 95% CI=1.52-4.10), and increased as age (OR=1.05; 95% CI=1.02-1.08). Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, age and exercise were the influencing factors of colorectal polyps in health screen examinees. Therefore, effective exercise and appropriate health education program about colorectal polyps need to be developed and applied in nursing interventions to prevent colorectal polyps in the community dwelling adults.
