The reliability of two questionnaires were relatively high (Job satisfaction Cronbach's $\alpha$=0.88, 0.89, PSCNI Cronbach's $\alpha$=0.80, 0.96) The data was analyzed frequency, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Pearson's corelation, and multiple regression analysis through SAS program. Research findings were as follows : 1. The average item score of job satisfaction was 119.50(prior to RN-BSN course) 124.16 (upon graduation). PSCNI' average item score was 75.37/77.21 at each. 2. The job satisfaction scores were significantly higher at the graduation than at the entrance(t=2,10, P=.040). But PSCNI's scores had no significant difference. 3. The relationship between job satisfaction and PSCNI of entering time was high R=.60, P=.000) The relationship of the two at graduation time was not high(R=.29, P=.018). 4. The factors contributing to the job satisfaction & PSCNI as follow: job satisfaction(prior to RB-BSN course), PSCNI(prior to RB-BSN course), The factors contributing to the job satisfaction & PSCNI were as follow: PSCNI(prior to RN-BSN course) In conclusion, we recognized that RN-BSN course influenced job satisfaction of students. • The purpose of this study is to investigate how certain factors-especially dietitians' general characteristics and job burnout-influence their job satisfaction and turnover intention. The survey was conducted during the period from September 7th to October 15th of 2006. A total of 91 institutions(response rate 74.6%) was analyzed by using SPSS(windows ver. 14.0). A majority of the respondents were females(97.8%) and 30 years or older(66.0%). Among the job burnout dimensions, exhaustion($2.78{\pm}0.07$) was rated higher than cynicism($2.62{\pm}0.06$), while the professional efficacy level($3.55{\pm}0.05$) was relatively high. The dietitians were more satisfied with co-workers($3.73{\pm}0.07$) and work($3.41{\pm}0.06$) than with pay($2.66{\pm}0.07$) and promotion($2.32{\pm}0.07$). The work dimension of job satisfaction was negatively correlated with exhaustion and cynicism dimensions of job burnout, and turnover intention(p<0.001), but positively correlated with professional efficacy dimension(p<0.001). The supervision dimension was negatively correlated with cynicism(p<0.05) and turnover intention(p<0.001), but positively correlated with professional efficacy dimension(p<0.01). The co-workers dimension was positively correlated with professional efficacy dimension(p<0.01). The pay dimension was negatively correlated with exhaustion(p<0.001) and cynicism(p<0.01) dimensions and turnover intention(p<0.001). The promotion dimension was negatively correlated with cynicism(p<0.01). The turnover intention was positively correlated with exhaustion and cynicism dimensions of job burnout(p<0.001). A hierarchical regression analysis revealed that i) professional efficacy was a factor to significantly increase job satisfaction, ii) cynicism to significantly decrease their job satisfaction, and iii) exhaustion to significantly increase turnover intention.

  • Background: Working conditions and psychosocial work factors have acquired an important role explaining the well-being and performance of professional drivers, including those working in the field of public transport. This study aimed to examine the association between job strain and the operational performance of public transport drivers and to compare the expositions with psychosocial risk at work of three different types of transport workers: taxi drivers, city bus drivers, and interurban bus drivers. Method: A sample of 780 professional drivers was drawn from three transport companies in Bogota (Colombia). The participants answered the Job Content Questionnaire and a set of sociodemographic and driving performance questions, including age, professional driving experience, work schedules, and accidents and penalties suffered in the last 2 years. Results: Analyses showed significant associations between measures of socio-labor variables and key performance indicators such road traffic accidents and penalties. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis contributed to explain significantly suffered accidents from key variables of the Job Demand-Control model, essentially from job strain. In addition, throughout post-hoc analyses, significant differences were found in terms of perceived social support, job strain, and job insecurity. Conclusion: Work stress is an issue that compromises the safety of professional drivers. This research provides evidence supporting a significant effect of job strain on the professional driver's performance. Moreover, the statistically significant differences between taxi drivers, city bus drivers, and interurban bus drivers in their expositions to work-related stress suggest the need for tailored occupational safety interventions on each occupational group.

Results: Professional self-concept and head nurse's leadership were slightly above the middle average, but nursing clinical competency was good. According to participants' age, marital status, job satisfaction, and length of service, there were perceptional differences in professional self-concept, head nurse's leadership, and nursing clinical competency. Nursing clinical competency could be explained by head nurse's leadership, professional self-concept, job satisfaction and length of service. Head nurse's leadership was independent variable affecting nursing clinical competency, professional self-concept was partial mediating variable, and job satisfaction and length of service were extraneous variables. Conclusion: It is concluded that head nurse's leadership is more important than professional self-concept to improve nursing clinical competency. Nursing managers should plan various strategies to improve head nurse's leadership and professional self-concept, to increase clinical nurses' job satisfaction and length of service.
