  • Environment-friendly agricultural products market has been experiencing various change through the quantitative growth in Korea. The food safety is considered seriously and the interest of the consumer is increasing about environment-friendly agricultural products and organic agricultural products. Environment-friendly agricultural products is encouraged in the link of the counter-measure which follows in the market opening. This research aims at making shorter the distance between the productive person and the consumer and to improve the income for organic farm and the price competitiveness for Environment-friendly agricultural products through the present condition analysis for organic produce's production, distribution and consumption market. To solve the problems above, the development of strategies for the establishment of distribution system for the organic produce's stable supply and the improvement of price competitiveness, the establishment of the cooperating system on the produce's demand and supply, the improvement of consumer's reliability by reinforcement with connectivity and transparency of the process, and the vitalization of regional economy and the exchange of rural and city area are needed.

A Study on the Manufacturing Process for High-finned Tube of Copper Pipe using Roll Forming Method (전조공법을 이용한 동관의 하이핀 튜브 제조 공정에 대한 연구)

  • High-finned tubes have good thermal conductivity and have better cooling efficiency than plain tubes or low-fined tubes due to bigger air contact area. During high-fined tubes are manufactured by roll forming, the main technique is illustrated to optimizing primary material(copper pipe), optimized die matrix designing technique for roll forming, control manufacturing speed to develop productivity etc. In this study, a roll forming system was developed in oder to produce high-finned tube. Also a multi-step roll forming die was designed & built to produce high-finned tube that has over 10 mm fin height. And then, roll forming test using copper pipe was performed to produce high-finned tube. Roll forming process for producing highfinned tube was optimized by analyzing and adjusting misrostructure, hardness, and surface roughness of roll formed high-fined tube.

  • Enzyme kinetics-based respiration model can be effectively used for estimating respiration rate in $O_2$ consumption and $CO_2$ production of fresh produce as a function of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ concentrations. Arrhenius equation can be applied to describe the temperature dependence of the respiration rate. Parameters of enzyme kinetics-based respiration model and activation energy of Arrhenius equation were compiled from analysis of literature data and closed system experiment. They enable to estimate the respiration rate for any modified atmosphere conditions at temperature of interest and thus can be used for design of modified atmosphere packaging of fresh produce.

  • Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are stochastic algorithms whose search methods model some natural phenomena. The procedure of GAs may be divided into two sub-procedures : Operation and Selection. Chromosomes can produce new offspring by means of operation, and the fitter chromosomes can produce more offspring than the less fit ones by means of selection. However, operation which is executed randomly and has some limits to its execution can not guarantee to produce fitter chromosomes. Thus, we propose a method which gives a directional information to the genetic operator by reinforcement learning. It can be achived by using neural networks to apply reinforcement learning to the genetic operator. We use the amount of fitness change which can be considered as reinforcement signal to calcualte the error terms for the output units. Then the weights are updated using backpropagtion algorithm. The performance improvement of GAs using reinforcement learning can be measured by applying the pr posed method to GA-hard problem.

  • Coal is one of the most abundant and cheapest energy sources in the earth, but its typical combustion product, $CO_2$, is related with serious recent environmental issues such as global warming. The Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) with $CO_2$ sequestration is one of the most promising options to produce electricity using a relatively cheap fuel (coal) with minimum impact on environment. In IGCC power generation systems, some chemical reactions are required to gasify coal to produce syngases such as $H_2$ and CO, which would be burnt in the combustor to produce heat for power generation, with a penalty of additional energy consumption. In this paper, several chemical reactions for the gasification of coal are considered and their characteristics are investigated.

Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) Precursor and Produce Supplementation on Egg Production, Egg Quality and Blood Immunological Parameters in Laying Hens (Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) 전구체 및 정제 부산물의 첨가가 산란계의 산란율, 계란 품질 및 면역 관련 혈액학적 지표에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) precursor and produce supplementation on egg production, egg quality and blood immunological parameters in laying hens. The total of 252 (32-wk) Hy-line brown commercial hens were used for 5 weeks. Dietary treatments included 1) CON (basal diet + oat 1% + soybean oil 1%), 2) WOS (basal diet + whey 0.5% + oat 0.5% + soybean oil 1%), 3) WS (basal diet+ whey 1% + soybean oil 1%), 4) WOCLA (basal diet + whey 0.5% + oat 0.5% + CLA produce 1%), 5) WCLA (basal diet + whey 1% + CLA produce 1%) and 6) FOCLA (basal diet + Fish oil 0.5% + oat 1% + CLA produce 0.5%). For 4 weeks egg shell thickness was higher in WOS and FOCLA treatments than WOCLA and WCLA treatments (P<0.05). Egg weight was significantly increased (P<0.05) in WOS and FOCLA treatments compared to WS and WCLA treatments for 4 weeks. From 4 to 5 weeks yolk high, yolk color and haugh unit were significantly higher in FOCLA treatment than CON treatment (P<0.05). IgG concentration of blood was increased in WOS and FOCLA treatments compared to CON, WS and WOCLA treatments(P<0.05). In conclusion, fish oil, CLA produce and oat supplementation in laying hens diet improve egg shell thickness, yolk high, yolk color and haugh unit, also, CLA precursor supplementaion in laying hens diet improve IgG concentration of blood higher than CON treatment.

Analysis of Microbiological Contamination Levels of Cabbage and Fresh-cut Produce on Difference Area toward Climate in Korea (우리나라 기후대별 양배추 및 신선편이제품의 오염도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate microbiological contamination of fresh-cut produce salads and raw cabbage toward climate change. Total aerobic bacteria, coliform and Escherichia coli were monitored to get the contamination levels and E. coli O157:H7, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella spp. to detect pathogens with risk of foodborne disease from samples. Collection of 360 samples (180 fresh-cut produce salads and 180 raw cabbage), including 60 samples from each area after setting 3 areas depending on annual temperature and annual rainfall. As a result, total aerobic bacteria and coliform group were different was performed areas in raw cabbage but there was no difference between areas in fresh-cut produce salads. In addition foodborne pathogens including E. coli were not isolated from fresh-cut produce salads.

Effect of commercial sanitizers on microbial quality of fresh-cut iceberg lettuce during storage (세척용 시판 살균제 종류에 따른 신선편의 양상추의 저장 중 미생물 변화)

  • This study was investigated the effects of various commercial sanitizers on microbial characteristics in fresh-cut iceberg lettuce during storage. For screening sanitizer, lettuce was cut and dipped in chlorine water ($0.2ml{\cdot}L^{-1}$), solution of organic acids such as ascorbic acid, citric acid, acetic acid, mixture of ascorbic acid and acetic acid (1-6%), and solutions of commercial sanitizers such as Formula 4$^{TM}$ (1,3,4%), Fresh produce wash$^{TM}$ (1,3,4%), Cleancol$^{TM}$ (1%), Chitochol$^{TM}$ (1%) and Natural Ca$^{TM}$ (0.1%) for 3 min, respectively. Washing lettuce with selected sanitizers resulted in reduction of aerobic bacteria of more than 2 log CFU/g. Initial pH of lettuce was related with the pH of sanitizers. pH ranged from 4.7 to 6.1 in Formula 4 (4%, pH 1.7) and Natural Ca (0.1%, pH 12.0), respectively. Chlorine water showed consistent and significant inhibition effect in all of microorganisms except total coliform. Over 3% of Formula 4 and Fresh produce wash were found to have high bactericidal activity among sanitizers. The sanitizers of chlorine water, Fresh produce wash, Chitochol and Natural Ca were effective in reducing yeast and mould populations. As coliform and E. coli, Formula 4 (4%) showed the highest bactericidal activity. The bactericidal effect of commercial sanitizers during storage varied with the kinds and concentrations of tested sanitizers. Although inhibition effect was not showed during storage, these results suggest that commercial sanitizers could be an alternative to chlorine for washing fresh-cut produce.

  • The surface smoothness of dental porelain after the use of various staining and glazing technique was examined by scanning electron microscopy. 1. Autogenous self-glazing technique produced a most rough surface. 2. The fixation of stain at $1,500^{\circ}F$ followed by thin slurry of glaze powder air fired to $1,800^{\circ}F$ produce the most smooth surface. 3. The technique thin sluny of glare powder followed by slurry of stain powder air fired to $1,800^{\circ}F$ produce the poor result.

  • The purpose of this study is to predict the roundness of Numerical Control Machining so that helps the operator to choose the right machining conditions to produce a product within the given error limits. Learning of neural network is Backpropagation theory. From this study, the base was set to setup the database to produce precisely machined product by predicting the rate of error in the fabrication facility which does not have the environment to analyze it.
