Evaluation of Wheel-based Mobile Robot Performance for Simple Environmental Obstacles

  • For the evaluation of the mobile robot performance in complex environments, the experimental approach in an actual physical environment has been commonly taken. In the physical experimental approach, however, it is quite difficult to define the proper environment for the evaluation due to the lack of commonly agreed characteristics of the test environment. Particularly the number of combinations of types and physical parameters of the obstacles that the mobile robot is expected to deal with is practically unlimited. In an effort to simplify and improve the effectiveness of the evaluation process, we propose an evaluation method using decomposed environmental elements, where we evaluated the performance of the robot for a small group of simple and decomposed obstacle components, for examples projection and slope, instead of a large group of complicated random obstacles. The paper describes a set of simple obstacle models and performance parameters that we have chosen for the effective evaluation process. As an alternative to the physical experimental evaluation approach, in this paper, we used a virtual evaluation environment where the robot and the physical test environment has been modeled using a commercial multi-body dynamics analysis packaged called RecurDyn.

  • Probiotics are actively being studied for their efficacious anticancer, anticholesterol, and antidiabetic properties. As novel probiotic strains are being developed continuously, new strain-specific safety issues may be reported. Therefore, a procedure for the safety evaluation of probiotic strains is needed. In this study, we investigated the current status of domestic and foreign guidelines for the evaluation of safety of probiotics and suggested a general probiotic safety evaluation process. In other countries, the guidelines for probiotic evaluation are provided and managed separately. However, in Korea, general guidelines are provided regarding the use of functional ingredients, and specific guidelines for the use of probiotics are lacking. A review step based on the characteristics of the probiotics has been introduced in the procedure for safety evaluation of probiotics. Additionally, it has been suggested that the safety evaluation process should consider the results of the functional and genomic analysis for strain identification. Moreover, the factors to be evaluated are presented separately for the notified and non-notified strains. The suggested evaluation procedure may ensure the safety of probiotics, thereby promoting enhanced utilization of probiotics as functional products.

모듈을 고려한 조립군의 교체성 평가 (Evaluation of Ease of Exchange of Subassembly Considering Module)

  • In this paper, to evaluate ease of exchange of subassembly considering module, it needs to analyze structure and function of subassembly, assembly and disassembly process. Exchange process of module can be divided into pre-process and in-process, and determination factors of exchange process are defined by analyzing characteristics of assembly and disassembly process. Based on the analysis of characteristics for structure and function of subassembly, influential factors of module can be proposed. Considered the interrelationship between determination factors of ease of exchange and influencing factors of module, ease of exchange can be evaluated.

AHP를 이용한 CMS 평가방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation Model for CMS using the AHP)

  • Despite the increasing interest in web contents and the rapid growth of CMS(Content Management System) market, the studies on the evaluation criteria for determining the purchase of the CMS solution are very rare. We introduce previous researches on the evaluation models of IT solution, and develop new criteria for evaluating CMS solutions. We calculate the relative importance of the evaluation criteria using scores from the IT experts based on the "Pair-wise Comparison" using the AHP. Based on the analyses of IT specialists′ responses, the results of the study show that, among the ten criteria, "the function of content management", "the contribution to the company′s business process" and "the fit with Information Strategic Plan" are the three most important ones over the remaining others. The developed model and criteria for the evaluation of the CMS solutions are expected to contribute on effective purchasing decision of the solutions and their successful implementation.

EPIQR+를 이용한 구청사 건물에 대한 경제적, 에너지관점에서의 건물 재평가 (A Study on Process for District Office Building Maintenance with EPIQR+ (on Focusing Energy and Economics Evaluation))

  • This study suggested practical application of decision aid tool on re-evaluation of current buildings with a focus on a energy and economics evaluation methodology. In Europe, over forty percent of all construction activities are for retrofit. For efficient construction, various tools for re-evaluating existing buildings have been developed and are in use. Legislations of relevant laws and studies are actively initiated. In particular, EPIQR (Energy Performance Indoor environment Quality Retrofit), which was developed through the EU's Third and Fourth Framework Programs laid a foundation on a new concept-based decision aid tool for re-evaluation of existing buildings. As for actual applications, based on this, EPIQR+ was developed to be in line with a building maintenance guideline (SIA 469) and is actively applied to public buildings. This tool quantifies the degree of damages of existing buildings and suggests alternatives to users in energy (SIA 380/1) and economical perspectives. This study examined these preceding tools and suggested some trenchant approaching for more comprehensive and efficient use of re-evaluation tools in building maintenance.

  • 2000년대 후반 들어 플랜트산업은 초유의 호황기를 누리고 있으나, 시장 확대에 따라 사업주의 품질, 기술요구가 점차 강화되고 있어 이러한 국내 플랜트 산업이 대외경쟁력을 구비하고 지속적으로 성장 가능한 산업으로 거듭나기 위해서는 우수한 설계능력의 확보를 통한 고부가가치 기술집약산업으로 변화가 요구되고 있다. 이를 위해서 우수설계를 위한 체크리스트의 도출과 그 측정이 가능하도록 하는 객관적인 사례평가모델의 개발이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 플랜트사업의 설계사례의 체크리스트기반 평가모델 개발을 위해 우선 국내외 플랜트 EPC 산업현황과 체크리스트 관련 선행연구에 대한 문헌고찰을 수행하였다. 이를 기반으로 전문가 설문을 통해 각 설계분야의 업무항목별 중요도와 업무별 체크리스트 항목의 중요도를 도출하여 체크리스트 평가에 따른 정량적 평가모델을 개발하였다. 또한 개발된 모델의 사례평가의 적용성 검토를 위해 플랜트 설계사례를 정량적으로 평가하고 분석하였다. 현재 국내에서는 우수사례의 도입 초기 단계로 본 연구에서 개발된 건설사업 단계별 업무 체크리스트를 향후 산업계와 학계, 연구계의 상호 협동을 통해 지속적인 연구와 적용을 통해 발전시켜 나간다면 국내 EPC업체의 우수설계능력 확보에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

서비스 기반의 e-러닝 평가관리시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of e-Learning Evaluation Management based on the Service Science)

  • e-러닝 분야에 두가지 흐름이 있다. 첫째는 정보시스템을 포함한 제품들이 서비스와의 연계를 통해 새로운 가치 창출을 시도하고 있다. 둘째는 서비스를 체계화하기 위한 방법으로 서비스 시스템과 서비스 프로세스로 사용한다. 서비스 시스템은 사람, 기술, 가치명제, 내/외부 서비스 시스템(네트워크), 공유정보로 구성되어 있다. 서비스 프로세스는 설계, 개발, 운영, 평가의 4가지 단계로 구성될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 e-Learning 학습평가관리를 위하여 서비스 기반의 e-Learning 서비스 평가 체계를 설계하고 구축하였다. 평가관리시스템의 구성은 크게 평가유형관리, 총평관리, 수상관리, 평가지관리, 평가결과지관리로 되어있다. 본 논문의 특징은 학습자, 보호자, 평가자의 서로 다른 평가기준에 맞춰 평가를 설계할 수 있도록 서비스 할 수 있다는 것이다. 연구의 중요한 가치는 평가업무를 쉽게 체계화 시키고 명확하게 평가 결과를 제공할 수 있는 서비스 지향 환경을 구축하였다는데 그 의미가 크다고 할 수 있다.

지식기반조직의 지식근로자 성과평가에 관한 연구 (Performance Evaluation of Knowledge Workers in Knowledge-based Organization)

  • This paper suggests a balanced scorecard (BSC) framework for measuring and evaluating the performance of knowledge workers in professional service firms(PSFs) which are typical knowldege-based organizations. As a strategic learning system, the balanced scorecard allows business leaders to drive and modify their business strategies based on the balanced measurement of key performance indicators(KPIs), which are basically divided into four domains such as financial achievement, customer orientation, internal business process, and innovation and learning. Conducting a focused case study on performance evaluation of knowledge workers from a balanced viewpoint, we could evaluate their competency and potential in more comprehensive manner. We also employ the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) approach for derive relative weights of key performance indicators and link it to a spreadsheet model for rating the individual performance of knowledge workers in a systematic way.

A Knowledge-based Design System for Injection Molding

  • The design and manufacture of injection molded polymeric parts with desired properties is a costly process dominated by empiricism, including the repeated modification of actual tooling. This paper presents an expert design evaluation system which can predict the mechanical performance of a molded product and diagnose the design before the actual mold is machined. The knowledge-based system synergistically combines a rule-based expert system with CAE programs. Heuristic knowledge of injection molding is formalized as rules of an expert consultation system. The expert system interprets the analytical results of the process simulation, predicts the performance, evaluates the design and generates recommendations for optimal design alternatives.
