  • This research was carried out to examine the family system types and the separation-individuation procedures, which seriously affect the mental development of middle school students. The research analysed the rate of separation-individuation in each family system types, as well. The resets of this study are as follows: 1. The midrange family was 61.1% among the four family system types, recognized by the middle school students. 2. Most of the middle school students were suffering from the separation-individuation procedures. And the most afflicted hardship was the dependency denial, which was followed by the reject expectancy and self-centeredness. 3. The girl students were more deeply affected by the family system types than boyhood. Therefore girl students were much more intimate with family and made very stagnant progress on the separation-individuation procedures .

  • The final purpose of this study is to develop noise abatement procedures for minimizing damages caused by aircraft noise, to establish appropriate noise limits and to suggest a plan for imposing surcharges and penalties on aircraft infringing the noise limits. This study establishes noise abatement procedures and suggests a plan to complement and improve upon NMS in Gimpo International Airport by reviewing the NMS structure. In addition, this study establishes a noise limit at each noise monitoring system and a verification system to discriminate infringing aircraft. Finally, this study suggests a control plan for aircraft infringing the noise limit.

  • Two extreme and one mixed procedures for designing a noise hazard prevention program are discussed in this paper. The two extreme design procedures (engineering-based and HPD-based) yield upper and lower bounds of the total noise control cost, respectively; while the mixed design procedure provides an optimal noise hazard prevention program within a given total budget. The upper bound of the workforce size for job rotation is approximated using a heuristic procedure. Six optimization models are developed and utilized by the mixed procedure to eliminate or reduce excessive noise levels (or noise exposures) in an industrial workplace. The mixed procedure also follows the OSHA’s hierarchy of noise control. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the application of the proposed design procedures.

  • The procedures of safety diagnosis assessment have been applied by synthetical consideration of structural safety, functionality, and economic efficiency in determining reconstruction or remodeling, but they have limitations in some special cases such as the non-association apartment. In this regard, this study was conducted to establish more desirable criteria and procedures in determining reconstruction or new construction and suggests a way to improve policy and laws of reconstruction correctly by reviewing the safety diagnosis in reconstruction process. Besides, the safety diagnosis of reconstruction for non-association apartments in government-owned public district was carried out preemptively to remove reckless procedures. As a result, the reconstruction of non-association apartments should be effectively without interference in the administrative procedures. This requires that the policy and laws of reconstruction safety diagnosis should be revised in priority in order that similar projects in future can be effectively executed.

  • Gametic biotechnologies involve the procedures which are utilized for procuring reproductive success through the mimicry of in vivo events as in in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer etc. With the realization that the oviduct performs most of the procedures mimicked in vitro under normal in vivo situations, the need to master the oviduct therefore, becomes paramount. The oviduct being an exocrine gland (with its output of glycoproteins) and possibly an ecdocrine gland must be implicated in all the preimplantational procedures of reproduction, which include ovulation, oocyte maturation, sperm capacitation, gametic and embryonal nutrition, fertilization, and implantation. The evidences in the literature for the implication of the oviduct in these processes are examined. It is concluded that there is a need for the mastery of oviductual activity in order to maximize the successes of the procedures in vitro, and provide gametic manipulations which will have high success rates in implantation that is the ultimate after of in vitro fertilization for reproductive success.

  • The implementation of a screening procedure for removing non-conforming products has become a common practice especially in high-tech manufacturing industries. Screening procedures involve a measurement on the quality characteristic of interest since decisions regarding the conformance to specifications are usually made on the basis of the realization of measurement. A significant variability in measurement procedures may result in the misclassification of an outgoing product (that is, falsely accepting defectives or falsely rejecting conforming items), which may lead to wrong interpretation on product quality, It may thus be necessary to consider the impacts of misclassification errors due to measurement variability when designing screening procedures. Along this line, this article investigates the design of screening procedures based on the assessment of misclassification errors. The main objective is to determine the screening limits on measured values so that two types of misclassification errors may properly be compromised.

  • In this paper, FEM procedure is applied to the static and dynamic analyses of R/C structures. Simple R/C shell structure is solved by using FEM procedures and the experimental evaluations are performed to represent the applicability of FEM procedure to R/C structures. Also, R/C columns are analyzed numerically and experimentally. On the basis of these results, FEM procedures are applied to the R/C cooling tower structures assembled by huge R/C shell structure and a lot of discrete R/C columns. In this analysis, the parallel computing procedures are introduced into these analyses to reduce the computational effort. The dynamic performances of R/C cooling tower are also solved by the application of parallel computations as well. From the numerical analyses, the conventional FEM procedures combined with computational technologies enables us to design the huge R/C structures statically and dynamically.

  • We develop the testing procedures about the homogeneity of the shape parameters of several inverse Gaussian distributions in our paper. We propose default Bayesian testing procedures for the shape parameters under the reference priors. The Bayes factor based on the proper priors gives the successful results for Bayesian hypothesis testing. For the case of the lack of information, the noninformative priors such as Jereys' prior or the reference prior can be used. Jereys' prior or the reference prior involves the undefined constants in the computation of the Bayes factors. Therefore under the reference priors, we develop the Bayesian testing procedures with the intrinsic Bayes factors and the fractional Bayes factor. Simulation study for the performance of the developed testing procedures is given, and an example for illustration is given.

  • When the nature of measuring a performance variable is destructive or very expensive, it is attractive to use a surrogate variable which is highly correlated with the performance variable and less expensive to measure. In this paper, we propose rectifying screening procedures using the performance and surrogate variables. Two screening procedures are considered; a statistically-based screening procedure to reduce the current proportion of nonconforming items to a specified lower value after screening, and a economically-based screening procedure where the screening limit is determined so that the expected cost is minimized. It is assumed that the surrogate variable given the performance variable is normally distributed with known mean and standard deviation. For two screening procedures, methods of finding the optimal solutions are presented and numerical examples are also given.
