A dc-dc converter which transfers l2-48W of power(regulated output voltage 24V) across a large, variable air gap(1-2cm) has been designed. This converter employs double resonance to compensate the large leakage inductance of the primary and secondary of the transcutaneous transformer. To maximize the effect of resonance, a constant frequency, duty cycle control method is used. The duty cycle control presents advantages over a frequency control in terms of increase in dc voltage gain and reduction of the primary current. The analysis and design procedure for the proposed scheme is presented and the performance result is simulated and verified experimentally.

Cognitive radio is an advanced technology for efficient utilization of under-utilized spectrum via spectrum sensing. CR users should move from current allocating channel to empty channel to avoid the interference to the primary user if the primary user is allocating that channel. Thus, CR system cannot support the CR user's QoS(Quaiity of Service). In this paper, we propose dynamic frequency selection method based on Genetic Algorithm with power control. It is to find the optimization channel for satisfying various CR user's needs with the power control method to minimize the CR user's interference to the primary user. And, we propose the Genetic Algorithm(GA) which determines the best configuration for CR communication systems. The computer simulation results show that the proposed method guaranteed the primary user's decodability and the optimized solution for various channel status.
This paper shows the analysis of the inductive power transfer system in conjunction with series resonant converter operating variable high frequency. Of particular interest is the sensitivity of the complete system to variations in operational frequency and parameters. In inductive power transfer system, electrical power is transferred from a prima교 winding in the form of a coil or track, to one or more isolated pick-up coils that may relative to the primary. The ability to transmit power without contact enables high reliability and easy maintenance that allows inductive power transfer system to be implemented in hostile environments. This technology has found application in many fields such as electric vehicles, PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) etc. The coupling between the primary and secondary is then presented to include the effects of parameter and operational frequency variation.
In this paper deals with the frequency control of the HVDC scheme linking Haenam to Cheju Island. The primary aim of the study is to develop and evaluate a new frequency control that can be employed without having to utilize the existing Synchronous Compensators(Gas Turbines). Study cases are completed involving synchronous compensators trip and load tripping events and study plots presented. It is demonstrated that the existing frequency measurement can be replaced by one derived from the AC network alone, incorporated into a new frequency control algorithm and gives good frequency control and dynamic performance.

In this paper deals with the frequency control of the HVDC scheme linking Haenam to Cheju Island. The primary aim of the study is to develop and evaluate a new frequency control that can be employed without having to utilise the existing Synchronous Compensators(Gas Turbines). Transient condition studies are performed utilising the detailed control strategies for the HVDC link, implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC. Study cases are completed involving synchronous compensators trip and load ripping events and study plots presented. It is demonstrated that the existing frequency measurement can be replaced by one derived from the AC network alone, incorporated into a new frequency control algorithm and gives effective frequency control and dynamic performance.

A novel order-reduction technique for model predictive control(MPC) is proposed based on the singular value decomposition(SVD) of a pulse response circulant matrix(PRCM) of a concerned system. It is first investigated that the PRCM (in the limit) contains a complete information of the frequency response of a system and its SVD decomposes the information into the respective principal directions at each frequency. This enables us to isolate the significant modes of the system and to devise the proposed order-reduction technique. Though the primary purpose of the proposed technique is to diminish the required computation in MPC, the clear frequency decomposition of the SVD of the PRCM also enables us to improve the robustness through selective excitation of frequency modes. Performance of the proposed technique is illustrated through two numerical examples.
Frequency is the unique physical value for all the interconnected systems. Therefore. the load frequency control is in the responsibility of all members in the interconnection power unbalance in one of the interconnected system can cause the problems in others. In the following text a brief description and the role of frequency in an interconnected system will be presented. Following is the short description of the Balkan Interconnection (UCTE Second Synchronous Zone) with schematic diagram. A Power-Frequency (P-f) dynamic model of a control area wil1 be shown. Model gives the analytical solution for frequency change versus a time after outage of a generator in the power system. This model will be applied to the Balkan Interconnection and compared with numerical approach. Advantages and drawbacks of the analytical method will be discussed Purpose of using this model is to investigate if the pumps in reversible hydropower plant will be underfrequency shed after the outage of the biggest generator unit in the interconnection, according %o (n-1) security postulate.

Recently, the active interaction control (AIC) system was proposed as a semi-active control system. The AIC system consists of a primary structure and an auxiliary structure. The objective of the AIC system is to control the response of the primary structure through engagement and disengagement between the primary and auxiliary structures. Previous switching control algorithms have been shown to be effective in reducing the response of the primary structure. However, they have the main drawback of requiring an excessive engagement-disengagement frequency and high interaction force. In this paper, the regions in which the switching is activated and the regions in which the switching is deactivated are described separately, to effectively determine the engagement or the disengagement. The general relationship between the switching regions and the deactivated switching regions selected according to the engagement-disengagement conditions is described within the newly-developed comprehensive switching framework. The proposed engagement-disengagement conditions are designed within a comprehensive switching framework, to reduce engagement-disengagement frequency and interaction force. Furthermore, the effect of a control sampling period on the AIC system is explained in terms of the engagement-disengagement frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms and the effect of the control sampling period are considered for a single degree of freedom model under free vibration. It is observed that increasing the duration of stay by using a large control sampling period prevents the AIC system from activating the possible chance of switching. The proposed algorithms are shown to be effective, both in restricting ineffective switching and in reducing interaction force.
The study tried to develop a parent-involvement sex education program and find out its effects for more effective sex education methods for high graders of a primary school. The subjects were recruited from 5 classes of 6th graders in Y Primary School in N city, Kyeonggido province, South Korea. Data collection was done from October 4, 2003 to November 7. The experimental group consisted of 43 students from 3 classes with the help from class teachers and parents' involvement in the program. The control group consisted of 43 students randomly sampled by computer from the other two classes. For the experimental methods, the experimental group was given a parent-involvement sex education program as well as a student sex education program: the control group only received the student sex education program. The results were analyzed according to frequency, percentage, $x^2$-test, fisher's exact test and t-test using SAS program. As a result of the homogeneity test, both the groups proved to be the same (t=-0.29 p=0.77, t=0.49 p=0.62) in preliminary sex-attitude and sex-related communication frequency score. But the two group showed meaningful differences (t=2.52 p=0.01, t=2.04, p=0.04) in preliminary sex-knowledge and sex-related communication quality score. After the sex education programs, the two groups didn't show meaningful statistic differences(t=-0.42 p=0.68, t=1.57 p=0.12) in preliminary sex-knowledge and sex-related communication quality score. But the experimental group was statistically more meaningful (t=2.16 p=0.03, t=4.86 p<0.0001) in the difference of sex attitude and sex-related communication frequency than the control. The parent-involvement sex education program developed in this study was more effective for improving their sex attitude and for increasing the frequency of their sex-related communication with parents than the existing student program. Therefore, for sex education, it's necessary to develop and spread various programs where parents can be involved.

This paper presents a novel power decoupling control scheme with the bidirectional buck-boost converter for primary-side regulation photovoltaic (PV) micro-inverter. With the proposed power decoupling control scheme, small-capacitance film capacitors are used to overcome the life-span and reliability limitations of the large-capacitance electrolytic capacitors. Then, an improved flyback PV inverter is employed in continuous conduction mode with primary-side regulation for the PV power conditioning. The proposed power-decoupling controller shares the reference for primary side current regulation of the flyback PV inverter. The decoupling controller shapes the input current of the bidirectional buck-boost converter. The shared reference eliminates the phase-delay between the input current to the bidirectional buck-boost converter and the double frequency current at the PV primary current. The elimination of the phase-delay in dynamic response enhances the ripple rejection capability of the power decoupling buck-boost converter even with small film capacitor. With proposed power decoupling control scheme, the additional advantage of the primary-side regulation of flyback PV inverter is that there is no need to have an extra current sensor for obtaining the ripplecurrent reference of the decoupling current-controller of the power-decoupling buck-boost converter. Therefore, the proposed power decoupling control scheme is cost-effective as well as the size benefit. A new transient analysis is carried out which includes the source voltage dynamics instead of considering the source voltage as a pure voltage source. For verification of the proposed control scheme, simulation and experimental results are presented.
