  • The purpose of this study is to identify consumer needs and sensory evaluation of jacquard fabrics for blind using low melting polyester. Ten kinds of jacquard fabric used for this study were developed. Developed jacquard fabrics were assessed subjectively by 164 consumers using 7-point scale of 22 consumer needs and 43 sensory descriptors. The results were briefly summarized as follows: the most important parameter to choose fabric for blind was 'Easy-use' and the other parameters are 'Lightproof', 'UV-protect', 'Design', 'Price', 'Color', 'Insulation', 'Easy-care'. The image sensibility of jacquard fabrics was explained by six factors: feminine, active, modern, traditional, pure, cozy. Higher preference was found in jacquard fabrics of clear, natural, luxurious, simple, feminine, young, cozy, graceful image. The preference was predicted 38.2% with feminine, modern, pure, cozy, traditional factors. Correlation coefficient between image sensibility factor 1 and preference was 0.437. The 3 factors (feminine, modern, pure)were selected as significant image sensibility affecting preference.

  • We propose a new method that specifies objective image quality factors by evaluating an image quality measurement model using random images. In other words, No-Reference variables are used to evaluate the quality of an original image without using any reference for comparison. 1000 portrait images were collected from a web gallery with votes constituting over 30 recommendation values. The bottom-up data collecting process was used to calculate the following image quality factors: total range, average, standard deviation, normalized distribution, z-score, preference percentage. A final grade is awarded out of 100 points, and this method ranks and grades the final estimated image quality preference in terms of total image quality factors. The results of the proposed image quality evaluation model consist of the specific dynamic range, skin tone R, G, B, L, A, B, and RSC contrast. We can present the total for the expected preference points as the average of the objective image qualities. Our proposed image quality evaluation model can measure the preferences for an actual image using a statistical analysis. The results indicate that this is a practical image quality measurement model that can extract a subject's preferred image quality.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate effects of odor intensity on the olfactory sensibility and sensibility structure. Three odor samples(B, C, and D) of T&T olfactometer were selected by the preference rank : the lowest preference(C) ; the moderate one(B) ; and the highest one(D). Three levels(-1, +1, and +3) of odor intensity at each sample were presented to 50 subjects(25 female, 25 male), and the olfactory sensibility was rated by using semantic differential scale composed 25 sensibility characteristics. At each sample, the olfactory sensibility was significantly affected by the odor intensity. Moreover, the structure of olfactory sensibility was influenced by the odor intensity. However, two sensibility factors such as 'aesthetics' and 'intensity' were common factors, whereas 'mildness', 'complexity', and 'activity' were unique factors with odor intensity. In conclusion, the olfactory sensibility was significantly affected by the odor intensity and the odor preference.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the landscape preference and landscape images of the Agricultural Aqueduct Bridges(AAB) by several different criteria. Semantic Differential Scale(SD scale) with landscape adjectives and landscape preference are used to estimate the alternatives of the AAB. The statistic methods such as descriptive analysis, t-test, factor analysis and regression, cluster analysis, are operated. The landscape preference of the alternatives is generally positive, 3.977 out of 7.000. The gate type is the most preferred, but the road-along type is the worst, by the location types. The simple repair type is the worst preferred, but total remodeling is the most, by the repair types. The characteristics of the AAB are analyzed and 4 factors of visual landscape are contracted; interest, orderliness, naturality and spatiality. Cumulative factor loading of these factors is about 65%, which is quite high. The higher and bigger AAB's are preferred, and the advanced finishing materials are also preferred, such as aluminum or wood panels. The long span is also preferred and the high repair cost would be preferred. But in this study, the cost-benefit analysis is not included, so it is recommended to research further, considering the cost variable with the visual factors.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate which decision factors continue to use the service based on the online simple payment service. In this study, we will examine how to activate the service from the continuing factors through the dual-model theory consisting of personal dedication and constraint dedication which are frequently used in relation marketing. Design/methodology/approach In this study, we investigated the activation of online simple settlement service using factors affecting the preference of the simple payment service based on the dual-model of dedication-based mechanism and constraint-based mechanism. Findings This study confirmed that customer satisfaction and convenience under the dedication -based mechanism were found to be linked to the preference of the simple payment service. Switching cost under the constraint - based mechanism showed that the customer had no binding ability to continue using the service of the current provider. Likewise, preference was found to have a direct effect on the actual frequency of use of the simple payment service, the number of uses compared to the total number of online payments, and willingness to use more.

  • This paper aims to analyze the effects of the residential area and personal characteristics of households on the preference of residential location factors. The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, considering the results of multiple regression analysis, it can be seen that preference of location factors is differentiated according to the residential area and personal characteristics of households by individual location factors. Secondly, considering the results of binomial logistic regression analysis, it can be also elucidated that the preferred location factors are differentiated according to the residential area and personal characteristics of the households. Therefore, it is judged that the residential area and personal characteristics of household and the location factors of the household are mutually influencing each other.

  • This study began with the question: "what influence would the width of river surface have on visual preference, provided that the environment surrounding the river does not change?" to evaluate the visual preference factors of the river scenery which could vary according to the change of water level. To estimate the minimum flow needed for river sceneries, field survey of Youngsan river was carried out to collect the field data and evaluated the visual preference factors to obtain a most preferred W/B ratio. At Youngsan bridge location, the feeling of open space factors, physical characteristic factors and complexity factors appeared to have significant relations to visual preferences. At Imgok bridge location, complexity factors, aesthetic factors and physical characteristic factors have significance to visual preferences. As a result of multi regression modeling, it was found that physical factors affected visual preferences the most at urban river locations and complexity factors affected the most visual preferences at rural river locations. As a results of this study, the most preferred W/B ratio was estimated as which vary from 0.5 to 0.7 and this results can contribute to the field of river landscape design to maximize the users' satisfaction level.

  • This study is to find physiological effects of acoustic information on landscape preference. Both the volume and the rate of $\alpha$-waves and $\beta$-waves were used to measure the effects in the study. The result of this study are summarized as follows: The outputting amount of $\alpha$-waves are sorted by different types of visual and acoustic factors. The results show that acoustic factors interacted with visual factors. That is, although visual factors are positive, the volume of $\alpha$-waves depends upon the character of acoustic factors; positive acoustic factors produce more $\alpha$-waves than negative or neutral(soundless) acoustic factors. Also the volume of $\alpha$-waves increase in the case of positive acoustic factors even if there is the same negative visual information. The results show that the volume of $\alpha$-waves increase without connecting with the types of visual factors. The volume of $\beta$-waves are largely reduced when visual stimulus is positive and soundless stimulus is provided. On the other hand, they generally increase when both visual and acoustic stimuli are negative, which fosters extremely unstable, tense and upset stress. The rate of $\alpha$-waves increase according to supplying positive acoustic factors in the opposed visual factors. The rate of wave(shouldn't be $\alpha$-waves\ulcorner) is high if both visual and acoustic factors are positive, so it is the most comfortable and causes no stress. Preference is the lowest if visual and acoustic factors are negative, but a -waves are conspicuously low in positive visual and negative acoustic factors.
