Though the increment of using computer vision system in modern industry, there are lots of difficulties to measure precisely because of measurement error distortion phenomenon. Between these reasons, the distortion of edge is dominant reason which is occured by the blurred image. The blurred image is happened when camera can not discriminate its precise focus. To correct and generalize distortion phenomenon is imprrtant. Thus we must fix the discrimination criteria which is collected by image recognition of precise focus. The edge of image means discontinuous point of intensity, and the component of edge is discribed as high frequency component at special domain specturm of image. The good condition of focus means there are much high frequency energy in image. The method of discribing high frequency energy is gradient operater which determines the condition of focus.
This paper proposes a methodology to measure the risk level in real-time for Business Activity Monitoring (BAM). A decision-tree methodology was employed to analyze the effect of process attributes on the result of the process execution. In the course of process execution, the level of risk is monitored in real-time, and an early warning can be issued depending on the change of the risk level. An algorithm for estimating the risk of ongoing processes in real-time was formulated. Comparison experiments were conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. The proposed method detects the risks of business processes more precisely and even earlier than existing approaches.
One of the primary means of achieving global competitiveness is to reduce the COPQ in our business units. Although the COPQ is not known precisely, it is known to be very high. Also, it may be underestimated by the hidden costs due to non-value added activities, such as potential lost sales, costs of redesign due to quality reasons, and extra manufacturing costs due to defects, etc. In any manufacturing or service operation, all actions and resource expenditures of a company should be focused on creating value for customers. Any activity or resource of not creating the value for customers could be regarded as waste, which consequently causes the COPQ. In this paper, a management system is developed for evaluating and reporting the COPQ in our business units, based on the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) roadmap.
In this study, two novel methods to measure the surface hardness of anodic oxide films on aluminum alloys are reported. The first method is to impregnate oil-based ink into pores in the anodic oxide film and then to clean the ink on the surface using ethanol, resulting in an impregnation of inks only inside of the pores in anodic oxide film. The second method is to coat the anodic oxide film surface with thin Au layer less than 0.1 ?. Both the ink-impregnating method and Au-coating method provided clear indentation marks on the anodic oxide film surface when it was indented using a pyramidal-diamond penetrator. Thus, Vickers hardness of anodic oxide films on aluminium alloy could be measured successfully and precisely from the anodic film surface. In addition, advantages and disadvantages of the ink-impregnating method and Au-coating method for the measurement of surface hardness of anodic oxide films are discussed.
When simulating the mission flight of a fighter equipped with the avionic ECM pod, it is massively required to provide the correct information of threats, to depict the real environment of mission area, and to precisely model the capability of the ECM system. Also, in order to get the reliable results of those simulation, it should be supported the flexible changes of threat environments and the examination of multiple flight paths. This paper presents a software system which is possible to flexible and interactive ECM simulation. This system has capable of the 2D or 3D visualization of virtual battle field, the management of electronic threat data, and the simulation of engagement model.
A parametric loudspeaker is a device to generate highly directional sound using ultrasounds. The parametric loudspeaker could be used to focus sound in a limited space, so it is important to study the characteristics of the parametric loudspeaker in near-field. Mechanism of the audible sound generation in the parametric loudspeaker is explained by nonlinear interaction of the ultrasounds and is modeled as KZK equation, the nonlinear wave equation which contains attenuation, nonlinearity and diffraction. To measure the directional characteristics of the parametric loudspeaker precisely, a method to reduce the spurious signal which taints the measured signal was invented. With the method, directivity patterns of the parametric loudspeaker were measured and compared to the approximated solution and piston sources.
This paper proposes a system to synchronize the time of computers over an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) network. With the proposed system, the UAVs can perform missions that require precise relative time. Also, data collected by UAVs can be fused precisely with synchronized time. In the system, to synchronize the time of all computers over the UAV network, two-step synchronization is performed. In the first step, the mission computers of the UAVs are synchronized through the server of the system. After the first step, the mission computers measure time offset between the time of the mission computers and the flight computers. The offset values are delivered to the server. In the second step, virtual time is determined by the server from the collected time offset. The measured offset is compensated by moving the synchronized time of mission computers to the reasonable virtual time. Since only the time of mission computers are controlled, any flight computers that use micro air vehicle link (MAVLink) protocol can be synchronized in the proposed system.
We present analysis results of far infrared (IR) data for 3C 58. We use Herschel observations to measure the IR spectral slope of the source. Our measurements add new IR data points to exisiting high-frequency ones and allow us to improve the IR spectral energy distribution (SED) of 3C 58, and so a cooling break expected in the optical band can be located more precisely. We interpret the SED and the break using a synchrotron+ inverse-Compton model for PWNe and infer flow properties in 3C 58. Because the IR data are contaminated by foregrounds and backgrounds, we discuss impacts of the contamination on our conclusion.
A null test method which relies on a computer generated hologram (CGH) is widely used to measure a large aspheric surface. For precise measurements of the surface shape of an aspheric optics, the CGH must precisely generate a wavefront that can fit on the ideal surface shape of the aspheric optics. If fabrication errors arise in the CGH, an unwanted wavefront will be generated and the measuring result will lack trustworthiness. Thus far, there has been limited research on wavefronts generated by CGH using only linear-type binary grating models. In this study, a theoretical error model of a circular-type zone plate, the most commonly used types for CGH patterns, is suggested. The proposed error model is checked by simulations and experiments.
Interest in aspects of industrialization relating to human health has increased. Accordingly, the use of labels such as 'natural foods' and 'organic ingredients' has become more widespread, and greater emphasis is being placed on improving quality of life. Water is an essential element for human life, and water quality has a significant impact on human health. However, technology that can precisely determine the substances present in water is still lacking. This study was conducted to establish a complete mass spectrometry process, from pretreatment to analysis, to measure and characterize natural organic matter (NOM) in Korean spring water samples. Salts and other matrices were removed from the samples using solid-phase extraction (SPE) with two different columns (PPL and C18). After establishing an accurate analysis method, the experimental results were evaluated based on Van Krevelen diagrams and analysis of molar O/C and H/C ratios. The method for characterizing NOM introduced herein should facilitate evaluation of water quality.
