A bismuth-coated carbon fiber microelectrode was prepared using cyclic voltammetry (CV). An analytical application was performed for the copper analysis with Square Wave Stripping Voltammetry (SWSV). Gallic acid n-propyl ester (PG) was used for the complex formation with a copper ion, and electrochemical measurements were performed with a pre-amplifier of a low-current module for nano am per detection. The effects of various parameters on the response were optimized. Analytical working ranges of $0.03-25.9\;{\mu}gl^{-1}$ and $0-25\'mgl^{-1}$ Cu(II) were obtained. The relative standard deviation at $13\;mgl^{-1}$ Cu was 0.9% (n = 12) in optimum conditions. The detection limit was found to have been $0.019\;{\mu}gl^{-1}$, with a 30-sec accumulation time. The developed methods were applied to a copper assay in water samples.
In this study, we evaluated anti-corrosion properties of both commercial unleaded and lead epoxy primer for automotive substrate before applying to actual painting lines by salt spray test, and cyclic corrosion test, potentiodynamic test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The difference in the corrosion resistance between automotive epoxy primers contained $Bi(OH)_{3}$ and leaded one was investigated. And it was also discussed the effect of zinc phosphate pretreatment to the epoxy primers. The specimen coated epoxy primer contained $Bi(OH)_{3}$ showed 0.5 V higher corrosion potential than that of bare steel. The result of salt spray test did not indicate remarkable difference of corrosion resistance in all specimens above $10{\mu}m$ thickness up to 1200 hours. In the cyclic corrosion test, epoxy primers contained $Bi(OH)_{3}$ on phosphated substrate performed good corrosion properties until 800 hours. The epoxy primer contained $Bi(OH)_{3}$ performed the equivalent corrosion resistance as leaded coating on phosphated steel, but slightly inferior to that of leaded on bare steel. These results show that the pre-treatment of zinc phosphate is effective as well as pigment changing in performing anti-corrosion properties in automotive bodies.
In this study, we investigate the effects of corona-discharge pre-treatment on the properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) which are used as flexible transparent electrodes. The CNTs are deposited on PET (polyethylene terephthalate) substrates using a spray coating method. Prior to the deposition of CNTs, the PET substrates are corona-treated by varying the feeding directions of the PET substrate and the numbers of treatments. The variations in the surface morphologies and roughnesses of the PET substrates due to corona-treatment are characterized via atomic force microscopy (AFM). Dynamic contact angles (DCAs) of the corona-treated PET substrates are measured and analyzed as functions of the treatment conditions. Also, the sheet resistances and visible-range transmittances of the CNTs deposited on PET substrates are measured before and after bending test. The experimental results obtained in this study provide strong evidences that the adhesive forces between CNTs and PET substrates can be substantially enhanced by corona-discharge pretreatment.

A sputter-sublimation source was tested for high rate deposition of protective coating of PEMFC(polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell) with high electrical conductivity and anti-corrosion capability by DC biasing of a metal rod immersed in inductively coupled plasma. A SUS(stainless steel) tube, rod were tested for low thermal conductivity materials and copper for high thermal conductivity ones. At 10 mTorr of Ar ICP(inductively coupled plasma) with 2.4 MHz, 300 W, the surface temperature of a SUS rod reached to $1,289^{\circ}C$ with a dc bias of 150 W (-706 V, 0.21 A) in 2 mins. For 10 min of sputter-sublimation, 0.1 gr of SUS rod was sputter-sublimated which is a good evidence of a high rate deposition source. ICP is used for sputter-sublimation of a target material, for substrate pre-treatment, film quality improvement by high energy particle bombardment and reactive deposition.
The composite beam adopted in the study was designed to reduce the floor height as well as to embed the top flange of steel frame into the slab that will enable to avoid applying the fire-resistant coating and to unify the joint method with a steel frame-type. As the steel frame and bottom concrete of the beam is pre-fabricated at the factory it could reduce the overall schedule at the jobsite. Applying such composite beam system to the work is expected to provide the efficient and enhanced performance, given the current tendency of the building construction that tends to be getting higher, larger and dense. The study focused on combining the composite beam with various column systems in a bid to propose the details thereof. A desirable composite girder can be adopted depending on site conditions through the evaluation of various beam and jointing approaches. Among the column systems applied to the study are steel column, SRC column, RC-PC column and RC column. The ways of combining with the columns addressed in the study were categorized into the rigid joint, pin joint, steel frame joint and bracket type joint. Besides, the instruction for site fabrication of beam-column was added in an effort to help set up the site fabrication procedures.

This paper describes the fabrication of SiCN microstructures for super-high temperature MEMS using photopolymerization of pre-ceramic polymer. In this work. polysilazane liquide as a precursor was deposited on Si wafers by spin coating. microstructured and solidificated by UV lithography. and removed from the substrate. The resulting solid polymer microstructures were cross-linked under HIP process and pyrolyzed to form a ceramic of withstanding over $1400^{\circ}C$. Finally, the fabricated SiCN microstructures were annealed at $1400^{\circ}C$ in a nitrogen atmosphere. Mechanical characteristics of the SiCN microstructure with different fabrication process conditions were evaluated. The elastic modules. hardness and tensile strength of the SiC microstructure implemented under optimum process conditions are 94.5 GPa, 10.5 GPa and 11.7 N/min, respectively. Consequently, the SiCN microstructure proposed in this work is very suitable for super-high temperature MEMS application due to very simple fabrication process and the potential possiblity of sophisticated multlayer or 3D microstructures as well as its good mechanical properties.

Nowadays Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) solar cell is attracting a lot of attention as a strong alternative to CIGS solar cell due to nontoxic and inexpensive constituent elements of CZTS. From various processes for the fabrication of CZTS solar cell, solution-based deposition of CZTS thin films is well-known non-vacuum process and many researchers are focusing on this method because of large-area deposition, high-throughput, and efficient material usage. Typically the solution-based process consists of two steps, coating of precursor solution and annealing of the precursor thin films. Unlike vacuum-based deposition, precursor solution contains unnecessary elements except Cu, Zn, Sn, and S in order to form high quality precursor thin films, and thus the precise control of precursor thin film preparation is essential for achieving high efficient CZTS solar cells. In this work, we have investigated the effect of preparation condition of CZTS precursor thin films on the performance of CZTS solar cells. The composition of CZTS precursor solution was controlled for obtaining optimized chemical composition of CZTS absorber layers for high-efficiency solar cells. Pre-annealing process of the CZTS precursor thin films was also investigated to confirm the effect of thermal treatment on chemical composition and carbon residues of CZTS absorber layers. The change of the morphology of CZTS precursor thin film by the preparation condition was also observed.

This paper presents a simple and inexpensive method to fabricate chemically and mechanically resistant hot electron-emitting composite electrodes on reusable substrates. In this study, the hot electron emitting composite electrodes were manufactured by doping a polymer, nylon 6,6, with few different brands of carbon particles (graphite, carbon black) and by coating metal substrates with the aforementioned composite ink layers with different carbon-polymer mass fractions. The optimal mass fractions in these composite layers allowed to fabricate composite electrodes that can inject hot electrons into aqueous electrolyte solutions and clearly generate hot electron- induced electrochemiluminescence (HECL). An aromatic terbium (III) chelate was used as a probe that is known not to be excited on the basis of traditional electrochemistry but to be efficiently electrically excited in the presence of hydrated electrons and during injection of hot electrons into aqueous solution. Thus, the presence of hot, pre-hydrated or hydrated electrons at the close vicinity of the composite electrode surface were monitored by HECL. The study shows that the extreme pH conditions could not damage the present composite electrodes. These low-cost, simplified and robust composite electrodes thus demonstrate that they can be used in HECL bioaffinity assays and other applications of hot electron electrochemistry.

Anodization is an electrochemical process that electrochemically converts a metal surface into an oxide layer, resulting in enhanced corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and improved aesthetic appearance. Local anodization, also known as selective anodization, is a modified process that enables specific regions or patterns on the metal surface to undergo anodization instead of the entire surface. Several methods have been attempted to produce oxide layers via localized anodic oxidation, such as using a mask or pre-patterned substrate. However, these methods are often intricate, time-consuming, and costly. Conversely, the direct writing or patterning approach is a more straightforward and efficient way to fabricate the oxide layers. This review paper intends to enhance our comprehension of local anodization and its potential applications in various fields, including the development of nanotechnologies. The application of anodization is promising in surface engineering, where the anodic oxide layer serves as a protective coating for metals or modifies the surface properties of materials. Furthermore, anodic oxidation can create micro- and nano-scale patterns on metal surfaces. Overall, the development of efficient and cost-effective anodic oxidation methods is essential for the advancement of various industries and technologies.
Processed foods containing pork fat tissue to improve flavor and gain economic benefit may cause severe issues for Muslims, Jews, and vegetarians. This study aimed to develop an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA) based on a monoclonal antibody specific to thermal stable-soluble protein in pork fat tissue and apply it to detect pork fat tissue in heat-processed (autoclave, steam, roast, and fry) beef meatballs. To develop a sensitive iELISA, the optimal sample pre-cooking time, coating conditions, primary and secondary dilution time, and various buffer systems were tested. The change in the iELISA sensitivity with different 96-well microtiter microplates was confirmed. The detection limit of iELISA performed with an appropriate microplate was 0.015% (w/w) pork fat in raw and heat-treated beef. No cross-reactions to other meats or fats were shown. These results mean that the iELISA can be used as an analytical method to detect trace amounts of pork fat mixed in beef.
