A Study on the Needs Level for a Demand Estimation Model in Knowledge Administration Activities (지식행정 활동의 수요예측 모형을 위한 요구수준 진단)

  • This study is performed the multinomial logistic regression with the officials needs level about a component of knowledge administration for drawing a demand estimation model in the knowledge administration activities. This study is not that an activity and domain of knowledge administration is to apply and to operate uniformly it in public sector, one is suggested an application with a demand diagnose of knowledge administration in order to saw a course of the knowledge administration programs to suit a function and role of public administration. A result of this study is that an activity and domain of the knowledge administration is different from a component of it namely, knowledge creating, knowledge organizing, knowledge sharing and distribution, knowledge utility, and knowledge store. And the officials individual characteristics, administration agency, a kind of business, and a function and role of work are different from demand of knowledge administration. Also, the practical use of KMS (knowledge management system) is not so high in public sector. Accordingly, the tools of knowledge administration will deliberate on a consolidation with the existing system in the device.

Analyzing the Effects of Knowledge Intensity on the Relationships between Knowledge Sourcing Strategies and Firm Performance (지식집중화 정도가 지식소싱 전략과 기업성과 간의 관계에 미치는 효과 분석)

  • Although the interaction effects of knowledge sourcing strategies vary depending on environmental conditions such as knowledge intensity, most prior empirical research have failed to prove the effects of environmental conditions on the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. In order to fill this gap, this study examines how knowledge intensity affects the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. The results of this study indicate the interaction effects of knowledge sourcing strategies in high knowledge intensity environment are different from the effects in low knowledge intensity environment. This study expands knowledge management research by identifying the effects of knowledge intensity on the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. Furthermore, it offers valuable practical guidelines for managers in selecting successful combinations of knowledge sourcing strategies with the consideration of knowledge intensity.

The Effect of Private Brands' Service Quality on Brand Attitude

  • Purpose: This study analyzes service quality of Pivate Brand (PB) productsto provide some academic and practical implications. Research design, data, and methodology: The focus is on how service quality of No Brand, which has recently received much attention, affects brand attitude and, to confirm whether consumers' prior knowledge of PB moderates this effect. A total of 167 men and women in their 20s who have experience using No Brand were surveyed. Hypothesis was verified by using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: a) Tangibles, reliability, empathy, and assurance of service quality for No Brand have a positive effect on brand attitude; b) The moderating effect of prior knowledge is only statistically significant in the context of reliability. Conclusion: This study provides academic and practical implications for establishing differentiated PB strategies. It highlights the effects of service quality and consumer prior knowledge on brand attitude. This suggests that the sub-dimension of PB service quality has a discriminatory effect on the brand attitude of No Brand, and that consumer's prior knowledge of the product influences reliability of service quality. Therefore, consumer's prior knowledge is important in order to increase trust.

A Study of the Practical Knowledge Regarding Osteoporosis and Health Promoting Behavior Among University Students

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the practical knowledge about osteoporosis and health promoting behavior possessed by male and female university students in their twenties. Next, the study seeks to analyze the difference in the degree of knowledge and practice of health promoting behavior depending on the students' area of study (health-related or non-health-related major) and previous education about osteoporosis. A survey was given to 300 male and female university students in Jeju Island from November 18 to December 6, 2013. Regarding knowledge about osteoporosis, the accuracy rate of health science major participants was 16.8 % higher than that of those of non-health science, and the accuracy rate of participants with previous education about osteoporosis was 12.9 % higher than those who had not. Health promoting behavior showed a higher degree of practice among students in health-related majors and those with previous applicable education. There were significant differences between the knowledge of osteoporosis and major and the presence and absence of prior education. Regarding the degree of health promoting behavior and major, the presence or absence of prior education showed significant differences. Among male and female students in their twenties, the recognition of knowledge about osteoporosis is very low. There is a need to develop various programs that focus on osteoporosis prevention rather than treatment, to improve the quality of education and training content according to the individual, and to lower the target age for osteoporosis education.

The Effects of Knowledge Ownership on Knowledge Creation Attitudes (지식소유감이 지식생산태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The voluntary knowledge creation plays an important role in achieving competitive advantage in the organization from the perspective of knowledge management. Although many companies have introduced the Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) for this purpose, they have not gained the expected benefits from those systems. One of the reasons for that is KMS have not provided organization members with sufficient intrinsic motivation about knowledge creation, diffusion and application. Therefore, this study proposes a concept called psychological knowledge ownership as intrinsic motivation factor that facilitates knowledge creation and examines its antecedents and consequences. The research results show that reputation, self-efficacy, and expertise sharing have impacts on psychological knowledge ownership, which in turn influences knowledge creation attitude. In conclusion, we discuss both theoretical and practical implications of this research and suggest its limitations.

Directions to Improve Specialized Knowledges and Practical Abilities for Taekwondo Majoring University Students (태권도 전공 학생들의 태권도에 대한 전문지식과 전문 실기 능력 향상을 위한 개선 방향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify contents of Taekwon and to improve specialized knowledges and practical abilities for Taekwondo majoring university students. The sample was categorized into college and student. The first round survey was divided into two parts in finding possible ways to improve practical abilities from students and school authority perspectives. The second round was conducted through survey by dividing respondents into students and school authority. The third round was performed to identify the nessessities and problems in relation to specialized knowledge and practical abilities such as sparring, poomsae, and demonstration. Based on the findings, three critical themes were identified: motivating them to accumulate specialized knowledge, providing opportunities to practice, and offering diverse job directions. Students indicated several critical themes such as recognition of job opportunities in different domains, endeavour to increase communication ability with others in different domains, reconsideration to learn things in different domains, and efforts to take an interests in life-time Taekwondo. The findings provide ideas in applying practical knowledge into the field and in changing students' perception in terms of Taekwondo majoring. They are specialized knowledge and practical ability improvement based upon college authority and students (15 college authority items, 9 student items).

A Methodology for Ontology-based Knowledge Acquisition and Structuring in an Industry-Academic-Government Project ″Go Japan!″

  • The purpose of the study is to develop an integrated knowledge structuring system for the domain of engineering, in which ontology-based literature mining, knowledge acquisition, knowledge integration, and knowledge retrieval are combined using XML-based tag information and ontology management. The system supports combining different types of databases (papers and patents, technologies and innovations) and retrieving different types of knowledge simultaneously. The main objective of the system is to facilitate knowledge acquisition and knowledge retrieval from documents through an ontology-based dynamic similarity calculation and a visualization of automatically structured knowledge. Through experimentations we conducted using 100,000 words economic documents reported in the "Go! Japan" project for analyzing Japanese industrial situation, and 100,000 words molecular biology Papers, we show the system is Practical enough for accelerating knowledge acquisition and knowledge discovery from the information sea.

Who knows what and to what extent - modeling the knowledge of the narrative agent

  • The knowledge of the narrative agent not only constitutes the content and meaning of the narrative itself, but is also closely related to the emotional response of the recipient. Also, the disparity of knowledge between narrative agents is an important factor in making a narrative richer and more interesting. But It tends to be treated as a sub-topic of narration theory or genre/style studies rather than an independent subject of narrative studies or criticism. In this paper, I propose a model that can systematically and quantitatively analyze the knowledge of narrative agents. The proposed model consists of the knowledge structure that represents a narrative, the knowledge state that expresses the knowledge of narrative agent as a degree of belief, and the knowledge flow that means changes in the knowledge state according to the development of events. In addition, the formal notation of the knowledge structure and a probabilistic inference model that could obtain the state of knowledge were proposed, and the knowledge structure and knowledge flow were analyzed by applying the model to the actual narrative. It is expected that the proposed model will be of practical help in the creation and evaluation of narratives.

Influence of Internal and External Capacity on Adults' Food Waste Disposal Capacity (내적역량과 외적역량이 성인의 식품 쓰레기 처분에 대한 실천역량에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of internal and external capacity on the practical capacity for food waste disposal in adults. Methods: The study subjects were 410 adults who answered a structured questionnaire. The survey was conducted in January 2021. Data were analyzed through descriprive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS Win 24.0. Results: First, in the analysis of internal capacity, attitude (3.95 out of 5 points) scored higher than knowledge (3.59 points). Attitudes showed significant differences according to gender (P < 0.001), age (P < 0.001), and income (P < 0.001). Knowledge showed significant differences according to gender (P < 0.01) and age (P < 0.05). Second, in the analysis of capacity, market constraints (3.73 points) scored the highest, followed by institutional conditions (3.48 points) and reference group (3.36 points). Market constraints differed according to gender (P < 0.001), and institutional conditions differed according to income (P < 0.001). There was a significant difference in the reference group according to the level of education (P < 0.05) and income (P < 0.05). Third, the practical capacity scores appeared in the order of separating discharge behavior, using behavior, purchasing behavior, and leadership behavior. Separating discharge behavior showed significant differences according to gender (P < 0.001), education level (P < 0.05), and income (P < 0.01). Using behavior showed a difference according to gender (P < 0.01), and purchasing behavior showed a significant difference according to income (P < 0.05). Leadership behavior showed no difference according to demographic factors. Fourth, internal capacity and external capacity showed a significant positive relationship with practical capacity. Factors affecting purchasing behavior were knowledge, attitude, institutional conditions, and reference group, and their explanatory power was 53%. Factors influencing using behavior were knowledge, attitude, institutional conditions, and reference group, and had an explanatory power of 37%. Leadership behavior was influenced by institutional conditions and the reference group, with an explanatory power of 31%. Conclusions: Internal capacity, external capacity, and practical capacity show differences according to demographic factors. Factors influencing the practical capacity of adults were knowledge, attitude, institutional conditions, and reference group.

The Effects of the Home Health Nursing Practical Education Program Applying Simulation on Knowledge related Home Health Nursing, Problem-solving Ability, and Clinical Competency (시뮬레이션을 적용한 방문건강관리 실습교육 프로그램이 방문간호 지식, 문제해결 능력, 임상수행 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examined the effect of using home health practical education program applying simulation for nursing college students. The study was carried out according a nonequivalent control group design. The study subjects were 60 nursing college students. The home health practical education program applying simulation program was carried out for 2 weeks. The data collection period was from March 29, 2021 to May 7, 2021. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS PC+ 19.0. The experimental group had significantly different in knowledge related home health nursing, problem-solving ability, and clinical competency in comparison to the control group. This suggests that the home health practical education program applying simulation can be applied as a way to increase nursing students' knowledge related home health nursing, problem-solving ability, and clinical competency.
