CLEANNESS OF SKEW GENERALIZED POWER SERIES RINGS

  • A skew generalized power series ring R[[S, 𝜔]] consists of all functions from a strictly ordered monoid S to a ring R whose support contains neither infinite descending chains nor infinite antichains, with pointwise addition, and with multiplication given by convolution twisted by an action 𝜔 of the monoid S on the ring R. Special cases of the skew generalized power series ring construction are skew polynomial rings, skew Laurent polynomial rings, skew power series rings, skew Laurent series rings, skew monoid rings, skew group rings, skew Mal'cev-Neumann series rings, the "untwisted" versions of all of these, and generalized power series rings. In this paper we obtain some necessary conditions on R, S and 𝜔 such that the skew generalized power series ring R[[S, 𝜔]] is (uniquely) clean. As particular cases of our general results we obtain new theorems on skew Mal'cev-Neumann series rings, skew Laurent series rings, and generalized power series rings.

  • Let R be a ring, (S,${\leq}$) a strictly ordered monoid and ${\omega}$ : S ${\rightarrow}$ End(R) a monoid homomorphism. The skew generalized power series ring R[[S,${\omega}$]] is a common generalization of (skew) polynomial rings, (skew) power series rings, (skew) Laurent polynomial rings, (skew) group rings, and Mal'cev-Neumann Laurent series rings. In this paper, we investigate the interplay between the ring-theoretical properties of R[[S,${\omega}$]] and the graph-theoretical properties of its zero-divisor graph ${\Gamma}$(R[[S,${\omega}$]]). Furthermore, we examine the preservation of diameter and girth of the zero-divisor graph under extension to skew generalized power series rings.

Graphical Design Plane Analysis for Series-Compensated Resonant Energy Links of Inductive Wireless Power Transfer Systems

  • In wireless power transfer systems, it is important to design resonant energy links in order to increase the power transfer efficiency and to obtain desired system performances. This paper proposes a method for designing and analyzing the resonant energy links in a series-series configured IPT (inductive power transfer) system using the FOM-rd plane. The proposed FOM-rd graphical design plane can analyze and design the voltage gain and the power efficiency of the energy links while considering changes in the misalignment between the coils and the termination load condition. In addition, the region of the bifurcation phenomena, where voltage gain peaks are split over the frequency, can also be distinctly identified on the graphical plane. An example of the design and analysis of a 100 W inductive power transfer system with the proposed method is illustrated. The proposed method is verified by measuring the voltage gain and power efficiency of implemented hardware.

  • In this paper, a novel new pulse power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed for pulse power application. Proposed scheme consists of series connected 9 power stages to generate maximum 60kV output pulse and one series resonant power inverter to charge DC capacitor voltage. Each power stages are configured as 8 series connected power cells and each power cell generates up to 850VDC pulse. Finally pulse output voltage is applied using total 72 series connected IGBTs. The synchronization of gating signal is important for series operation of IGBTs. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating and specially designed gate power circuit was used. Proposed scheme has lots of advantages such as long lifecyle, compact size, flat topped pulse forming, small weight, protection for arc, high efficiency and flexibility to generate various kinds of pulse output.

  • In this paper we propose a series active power filter and a simple calculation method acquiring the reference voltage. A series active power filter is suitable to suppress harmonics produced by voltage type harmonic source such as a diode rectifier with filter capacitor on the DC side The proposed series active power filter system is applied to 3-phase 3-wire power system including the voltage type harmonic source. Experimental result obtained from a laboratory model are shown to verify the viability and effectiveness of the proposed system.

Input-Series Multiple-Output Auxiliary Power Supply Scheme Based on Transformer-Integration for High-Input-Voltage Applications

  • In this paper, an input-series auxiliary power supply scheme is proposed, which is suitable for high input voltage and multiple-output applications. The power supply scheme is based on a two-transistor forward topology, all of the series modules have a common duty ratio, all the switches are turned on and off simultaneously, and the whole circuit has a single power transformer. It does not require an additional controller but still achieves efficient input voltage sharing (IVS) for each series module through its inherent transformer-integration strategy. The IVS process of this power supply scheme is analyzed in detail and the design considerations for the related parameters are given. Finally, a 100W multiple-output auxiliary power supply prototype is built, and the experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed scheme and the validity of the theoretical analysis.

  • Conventional series-resonant pulse frequency modulation controlled DC-DC high power converters with a high-frequency transformer link which is designed for driving the high power microwave generator has the problem of hard switching commutation at turn-on and turn-off of active power switching devices. This problem is due to the influence of the magnetizing current of the high-frequency transformer. This paper presents a novel prototype for a high-frequency transformer using parasitic parameters with a lossless inductive snubber and a series resonant capacitor assisted series-resonant zero current switching pulse frequency modulated DC-DC power converter, which is designed using a high power magnetron for microwave ovens. In order to implement a complete and efficient soft switching commutation, the performance of the new converter topology is practically confirmed and evaluated in the prototype of a power microwave generator.

  • Klein proved that polynomial rings over nil rings of bounded index are also nil of bounded index; while Puczylowski and Smoktunowicz described the nilradical of a power series ring with an indeterminate. We extend these results to those with any set of commuting indeterminates. We also study prime radicals of power series rings over some class of rings containing the case of bounded index, finding some examples which elaborate our arguments; and we prove that R is a PI ring of bounded index then the power series ring R[[X]], with X any set of indeterminates over R, is also a PI ring of bounded index, obtaining the Klein's result for polynomial rings as a corollary.
