In this paper, a watt-level 2.4-GHz RFCMOS linear power amplifier (PA) with pre-distortion method using variable capacitance with respect to input power is demonstrated. The proposed structure is composed of a power detector and a MOS capacitor to improve the linearity of the PA. The pre-distortion based linearizer is embedded in the two-stage PA to compensate for the gain compression in the amplifier stages, it also improves the output P1dB by approximately 1 dB. The simulation results demonstrate a 1-dB gain compression power of 30.81 dBm at 2.4-GHz, and PAE is 29.24 % at the output P1dB point.
Wireless communication systems, in particular, must operate in a crowded electro-magnetic environmnet where in-band undesired signals are treated as noise by the receiver. These interfering signals are often random but not Gaussian Due to nongaussian noise, the distribution of the observables cannot be specified by a finite set of parameters; instead r-dimensioal sample space (pure noise samples) is equiprobably partitioned into a finite number of disjointed regions using quantiles and a vector quantizer based on training samples. If we assume that the detected symbols are correct, then we can observe the pure noise samples during the training and transmitting mode. The algorithm proposed is based on a piecewise approximation to a regression function based on quantities and conditional partition moments which are estimated by a RMSA (Robbins-Monro Stochastic Approximation) algorithm. In this paper, we develop a diversity combiner with modified detector, called Non-Linear Detector, and the receiver has a differential phase detector in each diversity branch and at the combiner each detector output is proportional to the second power of the envelope of branches. Monte-Carlo simulations were used as means of generating the system performance.

Today, the obstacle detection system has massive size and restrictive detection range. To solve these problems, this paper proposes the capacitance variation detector using the variated capacitance value as a result of the obstacle approaching. If obstacle approaches, the capacitance value of capacitance sensor is increased and the operating frequency of oscillator is decreased. Then this changed frequency appears to the output of the mixer that operate down conversion. The capacitance variation detector is produced by Hynix$0.35{\mu}$ CMOS process. In experiment result, the frequency of final output is 6.81 MHz at no obstacle and 31.45 MHz at approaching obstacle. In conclusion, proposed capacitance variation detector has small size, low power consumption and easiness to set up anywhere. So it is expected to substitute the obstacle detector.
This paper describes an intensive analysis of a harmonic identification algorithm in non-ideal voltages source systems. The dq-axis Fourier with a positive sequence voltage detector (DQFP) is a novel harmonic identification algorithm for active power filters. A compensating current control system based on repetitive control is presented. A design and stability analysis of the proposed current control are also given. The aim of the paper is to achieve a robustness of the harmonic identification in a distorted and unbalanced voltage source. The proposed ideas are supported by a hardware in the loop technique based on a $eZdsp^{TM}$ F28335 and the Simulink program. The obtained results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the harmonic identification and the control strategy for the active power filter in non-ideal systems.
The leak before break(LBB) concept is difficult to apply to a structure with a thin tube that is immersed in a water environment. A heat exchanger in a nuclear power plant is such a structure. The present paper addresses an application of the LBB concept to a heat exchanger in a nuclear power plant. The minimum leaked coolant amount(approximately 37.9 liters) containing the radioactive material which can activate the radiation detector device installed in near the heat exchanger is assumed. A postulated initial flaw size that can not grow to a critical flaw size within the time period to activate the radiation detector is justified. In this case, the radiation detector can activate the warning signal caused by coolant leakage from initially postulated flaws of the heat exchanger. The nuclear plant can safely shutdown when this occurs. Since the postulated initial flaw size can not grow to the critical flaw size, the structural integrity of the heat exchanger is not impeded. Particularly the informational scenario presented in this paper discusses an actual nuclear plant.
After $SF_6$, which is being used in power equipment as an insulating material, is classified as one of the 6 major greenhouse gases, the maintenance and the refinement of used $SF_6$ started to get attention. In regard to this, KEPCO Research Institute (KEPRI) is developing $SF_6$ recovery and refinement technology starting with establishing a comprehensive $SF_6$ analysis system. With the analysis system, qualitative and quantitative analyses of the purity and the impurities of $SF_6$ before and after recovery, and before and after refinement have been carried out. The analysis system is comprised of GC-DID (Gas Chromatograph -Discharge Ionization Detector) for trace impurities analysis, GC-TCD (Thermal Conductivity Detector) for analyses of $SF_6$ purity and major impurities concentration from several hundred ppm up to percent range, GC-MSD (Mass Selective Detector) for analyses of impurities not included in standard gas, FT-IR (Fourier Transform-Infrared) Spectrometer for analysis of HF and $SO_2$, and moisture analyzer for analysis of moisture below 100 ppm. With this analysis system, complete analysis method of $SF_6$ has been established. This analysis system is being used in the maintenance of power equipment and the development of $SF_6$ recovery and refinement technologies. In this paper, the analysis results of four samples - gas and liquid phase $SF_6$ samples from a $SF_6$ refinement system before and after refinement are presented.

In this paper, a full-wave rectifier (FWR) with a simple vibration detector suitable for use with vibrational energy harvesting systems is presented. Conventional active FWRs where active diodes are used to reduce the diode voltage drop and increase the system efficiency are usually powered from the output. Output-powered FWRs exhibit relatively high efficiencies because the comparators used in active diodes are powered from the stable output voltage. Nevertheless, a major drawback is that these FWRs consume power from the output storage capacitor even when the system is not harvesting any energy. To overcome the problem, a technique using a simple vibration detector consisting of a peak detector and a level converter is proposed. The vibration detector detects whether vibrational energy exists or not in the input terminal and disables the comparators when there is no vibrational energy. The proposed FWR with the vibration detector is designed using a $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS process. Simulation results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. By using the proposed vibration detector, a decrease in leakage current by approximately 67,000 times can be achieved after the vibration disappears.
In the 3-phase PWM converter, accurate detection of the supplied voltage phase is very important. But a detecting circuit cannot avoid generating the deviation of phase detector so that we need to compensate it. In this paper, an accurate and simple compensating method of deviation of phase detector is proposed.
The analysis of the radiation effect on matter has been performed using stochastic methods. Recently, It was discovered that the detector pulses of radiation can be analysed using deterministic method that utilizes the chaotic behaviour with an attractor found in a noise region. We acquired a time series for pulse tram of Am-241 using scintillation detector and reconstructed a phase space, then performed new analysis for the radiation detection signal by applying embedding theory, Lyapunov exponent, correlation dimension, autocorrelation dimension, and power spectrum.

In this paper, a system for real-time or periodic measurement and analysis of RF parameters such as forward transmit power and pilot power in CDMA base station systems is proposed. Such RF characteristic parameter measurement can be prevented from system fault and used to achieve optimal service quality and maximum investment return through cell coverage expansion, subscriber capacity increase and so on. For forward power measurement, the local oscillator frequency for the detector is varied so that the transmit power for all channels can be measured. The channel power measurement can be used to analyze the variation in transmit power for changes in voice traffic. By comparing to forward $E_c/I_o$, the pilot channel power can be deducted, which can be used to determine uy degradation in transmit section modules such as the high dover amplifier. Since an accurate analysis of carefully measured data using the CDMA level detector must be made, the system is designed so that measurement errors due to changes in crest factor with modulation method can be overcome.
