과학 놀이 활동이 아동들의 과학적 태도와 탐구능력에 미치는 효과 (An Effectiveness of Science-Play Activity on the Scientific Attitudes and the Scientific Inquiry Skills of Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of science-play activity that isn't easily completed in a course of study, put in practice an development activity class on the scientific inquiry skills and the scientific attitude of elementary school students. For this purpose, the general activity was applied for the comparative group (40 students), the science-play activity was applied for the experimental group (34 students); they are composed of 5th and 6th graders elementary school students of 74, a class of an hour during a week. The results were analyzed by means of comparing between groups as well as within groups. The results of this research is as follows: Firstly, the science-play activity as an development activity was effective in the improvement of the scientific attitudes of elementary school students. Secondly, the science-play activity as an development activity was effective in the improvement of the scientific inquiry skills of elementary school students.

초등학생들의 놀이, 웃음활동, 디지털 게임의 선호도 실태 고찰 (A Study on Preferences about Play, Laughing Activity, Digital Game in Elementary School Students)

  • 본 연구는 놀이와 웃음활동을 인성교육과 접목하여 프로그램을 구안하고자 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 놀이(규칙놀이 영역, 전통놀이 영역, 보드게임 영역), 웃음활동, 디지털 게임의 실태와 선호도를 설문조사하였다. 학생들의 선호도는 보드게임 영역에서 가장 높았고, 그 다음으로 디지털 게임, 규칙놀이 영역, 전통놀이 영역, 웃음활동 순으로 나타났다. 규칙놀이 영역에서는 그룹놀이를 가장 선호했고, 전통놀이 영역에서는 윷놀이를 가장 선호하였다. 보드게임 영역에서는 7세 이상 대상 2연령의 보드게임을 가장 선호하였고, 디지털 게임은 모바일 게임을 가장 선호하였다. 따라서 초등학생들에게 양질의 놀이 교육 프로그램을 개발할 때에는 학생들의 놀이 실태를 잘 파악하고 성별에 따라 선호도가 다름을 이해하는 등 놀이의 특성을 고려하는 것이 매우 중요하다고 사료된다.

역할놀이를 활용한 프로젝트 활동이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Project Activity Based on Role Play on 5-Year-Olds' Mathematical Ability)

  • This study's aim was to analyze the effect of a project activity based on role play on 5-year-olds' mathematical ability. The participants of this study were 56 5-year-olds from two educational institutions for young children located in two metropolitan cities in Korea. The experimental group (n=28) participated in a project activity based on role play, while the comparative group (n=28) did not. The "Mart Play" project activity based on role play was developed emergently by the children and teachers of the experimental group. The children's mathematical ability was measured before and after the experiment. The data were analyzed using t-test and ANCOVA. As a result, the project activity based on role play had an effect on the improvement of 5-year-olds' mathematical ability generally, but not on their measurement ability.

미취학아동의 1일 활동량, 활동계수 평가 및 유아보육시설의 실외놀이 실태 (Assessment of Physical Activity, Activity Coefficient of Preschool Children and Actual Condition of Daycare Center Outdoor Play)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess physical activities and activity coefficient of preschool children and was to give some concrete information to activate outdoor play and to probe the suggestions to activate outdoor play. 42 preschool children (17 boys and 25 girls) were included. Body weight and height were measured and one-day activity diaries were collected by interviewing with their parents and kindergarten teachers. To measure physical activity during outdoor play, this study was researched the current conditions and content of outdoor play activity in daycare centers, and teacher's perceptions of that outdoor play. The average age of the subjects was 5.0 years. Average height, weight, body fat and body muscle of subjects were 108.9 cm, 18.9 kg, 17.7% and 26.8%, respectively. The subjects spent about 10 hours 39 minutes sleeping; 4 hours 16 minutes personal hygiene and computer working. They spent 88.2% of 24 hours (one day) in "very light activities" and 11.3% in "light activities". Activity coefficient (1.34) of weekday was significantly higher than that of weekend (1.21). And in this study, it was found that most of daycare centers (87.7%) have outdoor play space, 95.2% of them were garden. The teachers recognized that have a outdoor play frequency everyday (48%), three or four times (46%) in a week but they have three or four times (38%), one or two times (30%) because of various indoor program. Also, they recognized that have a outdoor play expending time 21-30 minutes (48%), 31-40 minutes (26%) but they have 21-30 minutes (64%). They answered that have frequency and expending time less than their recognition of outdoor play. Most of daycare center teachers perceived outdoor play to be as important as indoor play, and the teachers believed outdoor play supports children's physical, cognitive, social, and language development. The results of this study may be used to utilize as a basic data for estimate physical activity for preschool children and developed that exercise program to increase physical activity of daycare center outdoor play.

아동 색채조형 놀이기구 디자인 제안 (Kids Color-design Playground Apparatus Proposal)

  • Color is an important subject of interest for cognitive developmental stages of children and it also correlate to emotional and physical development. Children can acquire concept of color by 'play'. Color play can be experienced to children through diversity activity and theses activities contain creative craft art activity. The color-paly with art activity for kids can be called 'kids color-design play'. Recently, indoor playgrounds are rapidly grow-up because parent's concern degree that about play activity get higher. The indoor playground being enlargement and it contains various paly contents. Color-design play is also enacted animatedly in kids indoor playground. The great part of color-design plays are enacted through program that needs teaching. On the other hand, color-design play facility that children can play spontaneously is not composed sufficiently. Therefore this study aim at design proposal of 'Kids color-design playground apparatus' in indoor playground.

보육과정에서의 자유놀이 현황과 교사의 놀이인식 (Free Play Activities in the Curricula of Childcare Centers and Teachers' Perceptions of Play)

  • This study dealt with free play activities in the curricula of childcare centers in Daejeon area. 29 teachers from 21 day care centers were interviewed individually to obtain an understanding of teachers perceptions and conflicting views about play activity in the context of different day care curricula. The data were analysed qualitatively, using categorization and key word classification, frequency analyses and chi-squared tests. The results were as follows: (1) play-oriented curricula included sufficient play time and planned play activities in terms of the children's development. Children's freedom in play, optimum intercession by teachers, and interrelating activities between activity areas were included. In mixed curricula, children's freedoms were limited in many cases, and interrelating play between activity areas was hardly found. Formal lesson-oriented curricula resulted unplanned play activities and teachers' passive intercession of play. (2) Most teachers believed that play activities were more important to a child's development than formal lessons.

바둑놀이활동이 유아의 인지능력, 문제해결력 및 만족지연능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Baduk Play Activity Upon a Child's Intelligence, Problem-solving and Delay of Gratification)

  • The purpose of this study is on the effect of the Baduk play activity upon a child's intelligence, problem solving and delay of gratification. 68 participants (36 from the test group and 32 from the regulation group) were selected from 5 year old children who attend two elementary school annexed kindergartens for a pre-test and post-test in order to verify the effect of the Baduk play activity. The Baduk play activity was applied to the test group 3 times a week from the 3rd week of March, 2008 until the 3rd week of October, 2008. In this study, K-WPPSI, CPS and delay of gratification test were used to measure the effect of the activity. As a result, it can be construed that the Baduk play activity gives children a more positive influence upon their activity and overall IQ, ability of problem- solving and delay of gratification.

근린 놀이환경 적합도 및 요인 평가에 관한 연구 - 서울의 초등학생 부모 대상 설문조사결과를 중심으로 - (Assessment of the Suitability and the Factors of Play Environments in Residential Neighborhood - Based on a Citywide Survey of Elementary School Parents in Seoul -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the environmental factors relating to children's outdoor play and to assess how the residential neighborhood is suitable for play in the perception of parents. Based on a citywide survey of 500 parents of elementary school students in grades 1-4 in Seoul, this empirical study shows that children's outdoor play environments in residential neighborhoods of Seoul have been observed to be overall unsuitable for play activity. Three physical environmental factors (spatial availability, neighborhood attractiveness, and street difficulties) and three social environmental factors (fear of crime, social interactions, and psychological comfort) are related to children's play activity. Five factors, with the exception of the psychological comfort factor, impact the suitability of children's outdoor play environment. Specifically, it is the physical environment, rather than the social environment, that was deemed unsuitable in spite of its impacts. These findings help us understand the current conditions of neighborhood play environments associated with children's play activity. It is necessary to improve parents' perceptions of the play environment and children's play activities by improving the physical environment.

일일보육계획안에 따른 일과유형 분류 및 일과유형별 보육프로그램의 특성 (Analysis on Daily Routine Types Based on Daily Care Plans of Child Care Centers and the Characteristics of Child Care Programs According to Daily Routine Types)

  • This study explores the types of daily routines in child care centers based on the time planned for indoor free choice activities, outdoor activities, group activities and nap/rest. The daily routine plans of 63 classes of 0 to 2-year-olds and 51 classes of 3 to 5-year-olds were cluster analyzed. Also, openness and closeness of child care programs as well as the most participated indoor/outdoor activities were examined using questionnaires developed for teachers. The results were as follows: First, teachers planned the most time for free play choice activity and comparatively less time for outdoor play during the day. Time for rest and naps were planned more for 0-2 year-olds whereas group activities were planned more for the 3-5 year-olds. Second, 3 daily routine types were found in the daily plans of child care centers, such as "Low-Activity Oriented," "Free Choice Activity Oriented" and "Group Activity Oriented" in 0 to 2-year-old classes and 3 to 5-year-old classes. Also, "Group Activity Oriented" type in 0 to 2-year-old classes showed more "closed" child care programs than the "Free Choice Activity Oriented" type. However, no difference was shown among the 3 types of daily routines in the openness and closeness of 3 to 5-year-old child care programs. Finally, all children, regardless of the types of daily routine, participated most in block activity and role play indoors and fixed-play equipment, sand play and free play outdoors.

대한감각통합치료학회 창립 20주년 학술대회: PLAY inSIde 캠프 보고 (The 20th Anniversary of the Korean Academy of Sensory Integration (KASI): PLAY inSIde Camp Report)

  • 목적 : 본 문헌은 대한감각통합치료학회가 창립 20주년을 맞이하여 개최한 감각통합과 놀이를 연결하는 PLAY inSIde 캠프에 대한 보고이다. 본론 : 캠프의 주요 프로그램은 만 5~6세 발달장애아동을 대상으로 감각통합에 근거를 둔 그룹 활동으로 구성되었다. 캠프는 오프닝 전체 활동 프로그램, 조별 활동 프로그램, 조별 포스트 활동 프로그램, 클로징 전체 활동 프로그램으로 진행되었고, 아동들이 놀이 활동에 참여하는 동안 부모들은 감각통합 부모교육에 참여하였다. 캠프에 참여한 치료사들은 사전 모임과 리허설 시간을 가지며 활동을 계획 및 진행하였고 이 과정에서 치료사들 간의 토의와 서포터의 지원이 있었다. 캠프 후 설문과 토의를 진행 결과, 치료사와 보호자는 캠프 참여에 만족하였고 공동작업을 의미 있게 경험하였다. 결론 : 캠프를 통해 아동들은 다른 아동들과 함께 놀이 활동을 경험하고, 치료사는 다른 치료사들과 전문성을 나누며 교류하고, 학회는 그간 축적된 자원들을 사회에 기여하였다. PLAY inSIde가 초석이 되어 향후 감각통합에 근거를 둔 사회 참여 활동들이 활발해지기를 기대해 본다.
