Characteristics of new strain 'Jinbudlsongyi' in Agrocybe aegerita (버들송이 신품종 '진버들송이'의 특성)

  • Jinbudlsongyi mushroom (Agrocybe aegerita) was bred in Mushroom Research Institute, Gyonggi Province A.R.E.S in 2005. It was bred with mating between moookarytic strains isolated from Budlsongyi#1 and KME45202. The temperature of optimal mycelial growth was $24{\sim}26^{\circ}C$ on PDA and $18{\sim}20^{\circ}C$ in sawdust medium. To harvest fruiting body of Jiobudlsoogyi the period required for colonization after inoculation was 37days and the period of cultivation was 13days after scratching of inoculum. The major characteristics of the mushroom was shown a lot of primordia, light brown colored stipe and convex-shaped pileus. Compared with Budlsongyi#1, it was shown dark brown-colored pileus and straight stipe. The fruiting body yield was $115g{\pm}6/850cc$ bottle. It was demanded proper circulation at the time of primordia and put it around with cloth that is prevented to be bend the stipes.

Characteristic evaluation of collected strains of Agaricus spp. based on ITS rDNA sequence (ITS 계통분석을 이용한 주름버섯류 수집균주의 특성평가)

  • Phylogenic relationships and morphological characteristics were classified and investigated among the 233 collected strains of Agaricus spp. The 38 strains were differently identified as different characteristic group using analysis of ITS regions in rDNA. A. bitorquis was showed close relationship in groupA whereas A. campestris was in groupC as different characteristic group among with A. bisporus. There was no phylogentic difference with strains collected by country and different pileus colored Agaricus bisporus. Also the strains were cultivated twice to investigate morphological characteristics of fruiting bodies. The characteristics and yield of collected strains were compared with molecular varieties and seasons by the cultivation. In this result, A. campestirs showed good yield and quality in terms of hardness off-white mushroom was more harder than other number of A. bisporus. Also earliness and color of pileus was influenced by external environment all conditions.

Characteristics and breeding of a new oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) variety 'Chunhwashim' by using cytoplasmic hybrid (세포질전환 기법에 의한 신품종 느타리 '천화심'의 육성 및 자실체 특성)

  • Hybrid strains was selected by crossing between dikaryotic strain ASI 0628 (Dagul) bred from ASI 2596 (Suhan No.3) and ASI 2782(Black pileus mutant) and monokaryotic strain ASI 2344-84. The strain 84 that shown the best cultural characteristics was selected to be a new cytoplasmic hybrid variety and named as 'Chunhwashim'. The 'Chunhwashim' shown incompatibility among them forming the confrontation growth line against parental strains ASI 0628 (Dagul) and ASI 2344 (chunchu 2ho). Fruiting body produced about $161.4{\pm}4.8g$ per bottle. And also the individual generation of fruit body is multiple than chunchu2ho as 40.9. The 'Chunhwashim' was cytoplasmic hybrid included hybrid DNA bands of parental strains ASI 0628 (Dagul) and ASI 2344 (chunchu 2ho) by Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primer, and mitochondria DNA band of monokaryotic ASI 2344 (chunchu 2ho) using mitochondria microsatellite DNA marker. This new cytoplasmic hybrid variety 'Chunhwashim' of oyster mushroom is characterized by multiple of individual generation and deeply grey color of pileus.

Growth characteristics and productivity of oyster mushroom according to adding of Rhus verniciflua sawdust (옻나무톱밥 첨가에 따른 느타리버섯의 생육 특성 및 수량성)

  • This study was carried out to investigated optimum mixing ratio of Korean natural Rhus verniciflua for production of functional oyster mushroom. Mycerial growth was some fast at addition of R. verniciflua sawdust, and not significant difference by increase of R. verniciflua substrate. Yields of fruiting body show the highest to 150.2 g/850 ml of medium which are addition 20% of R. verniciflua sawdust, and diameter of pileus and thick of stipes were the highest at addition 10% of R. verniciflua sawdust. The L value of stipes were the highest at addition 10% of R. verniciflua sawdust and the L value of pileus were decreased by increase of R. verniciflua substrate, but there was no significant difference in the a-value and the b-value.

Optimum mixture ratio of functional Lindera glauca for culture of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) (느타리버섯 재배를 위한 기능성자원 감태나무(Lindera glauca) 톱밥의 적정 혼합비율)

  • This study was carried out to investigated optimum mixing ratio of Korean natural Lindera glauca for production of functional oyster mushroom. Total nitrogen and carbon source of Lindera glauca was 0.16% and 40.9%, respectively and C/N ratio was 215. Total nitrogen source and pH of substrate mixed with Lindera glauca was 2.8~3.0 and 4.8~5.0, respectively. The contents of $P_2O_5$, CaO, MgO and $Na_2O$ were increased by increasing Lindera glauca, but there was no significant difference in $K_2O$ content. Mycerial growth was faster at Lindera glauca treatments than that of control. Yields of fruiting body was the highest at Lindera glauca 20%, and dimeter and thick of pileus were increased according to increase of Lindera glauca addition ratio. The L value of pileus was the highest at the Lindera glauca 10% during mushroom harvest, but there was no significant difference in the a-value and the b-value.

Characteristics of Ganoderma lucidum during short log cultivation with soil contact barrier treatment (영지버섯(Ganoderma lucidum) 단목재배시 토양접촉차단재 처리별 자실체 특성)

  • Arthrographis cuboidea is a wood rot fungus found in soil. It causes disease in repeated cultivation areas of Ganoderma lucidum, which damage the mushroom logs and causes considerable loss of income to mushroom farmers. This study aimed to investigate the physicochemical properties of soil and characteristics of the growth environment such as the temperature of the Ganoderma lucidum cultivated land. The time required for primordia initiation was 12-13 days. In the chromaticity survey, the degree of redness (a) was 19.5 for vinyl, 20.2 for control, and 19.5 for nonwoven. The yellowness index (b) was 12.7 for vinyl, 13.3 for control, and 12.4 for nonwoven. In the study of growth characteristics, in case of no treatment (control), the length and thickness of the pileus were measured as 145.7 mm and 23.6 mm and those of the stipe were 73.9 mm and 11.5 mm, respectively, and the weight was 130 g. Treatment with non-woven fabric resulted in 157 mm and 93.3 mm long and 22.3 mm and 11.9 mm thick pileus and stipe, respectively, and the weight was 164 g. This result indicates that treatment with non-woven fabric is better than no treatment with respect to Ganoderma lucidum growth.

Breeding of King Oyster Mushroom, Pleurotus eryngii with a High Yield and Earliness of Harvest Trait and Its Sensory Test (큰느타리(새송이)버섯 다수확 속성 품종 육종 및 관능평가)

  • Two strains Pleurotus eryngii 'Aeryni' and 'Na' carrying superior traits of a pileus and a earliness of harvest were selected to improve previously bred strains by single crosses. New hybrid, Aeryni 3 (Aeryni10 ${\times}$ Na5) showed superiority to other hybrids in yield, fruit body shape and days for harvest. The new strain, Aeryni 3 was harvested earlier than Keunneutari No. 2 by 2~3 days, and yielded 110.5 g/bottle (850 mL) which was 108% of that of Keunneutari No. 2. The ratio of diameter of pileus and stipe was 1.8 indicating that new stain will be likely low damage rate of fruit body during a distribution, and that was better than 2.1 of Keunneutari No. 2. A sensory test of taste of the new strain showed that 84.7% of evaluation panels selected "very good" while that of Keunneutari No. 2 was 55.5%. In purchasing intent test, 86.9% of panels will buy the new stain whereas 46.8% will buy Keunneutari No. 2 implicating that the new strain will likely be more marketability than previously bred strain.

  • 'Nongjin-go' is a new breed strain of Lentinula edodes, saw-dust bag variety. It is a cross combination of dikaryon Lentinula edodes ASI 3305mut and monokaryon L5-16 of L. edodes ASI 3305(Sanjo701ho). We crossbred them by 2011 and verified productive capacity from 2012 to 2013 in Rural Development Administration. Optimum temperature of mycelial growth is $30^{\circ}C$ and it of fruit-body primodium formation is range from 15 to $23^{\circ}C$. Nongjigo is agricultured at mid-high temperature well. Fruiting body is platy-hemisphere, light brown and centralizing. And bast is formed around edge of pileus. Yield productions per period is regular than 'Sanjo701'. Plastic bag culture medium is 1.5 kilogram and culture periods are 90~100 days. As its browning of pileus in culture is a little slow, Light and ventilation is needed a lot in light-culturing. Humidity is controlled properly for its color in fruit-body growing. Tested culture medium is consisted of 80% Oak-Tree saw-dust and 20% rice-bran.

Characteristics of a new variety 『Gonji10ho』 in Neolentinus lepideus (잣버섯 신품종 『곤지10호』 특성)

  • 'Gonji10ho', a new variety of Neolentinus lepideus, was bred by mating two monokaryotic strains isolated from 'GMNL66037' and 'GMNL66014' in Mushroom Research Institute, Gyonggi-Do ARES in 2012. The optimum temperature for the mycelial growth of 'Gonji10ho' was $29^{\circ}C$ on PDA medium and that for the primordia formation and the growth of fruiting body of 'Gonji10ho' was $20{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. In bottle cultivation of 'Gonji10ho', the period of spawn running was around 35 days at $22{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and the period from scratching of inoculum to harvesting was 27 days. 'Gonji10ho' had thicker pileus and stipe than control variety('Solhyang'). The number of available stipe was fewer than that of control variety. During the cultivation of 'Conji10ho', the occurrence rate of Trichoderma spp. was lower than that in control variety. In bottle cultivation, the yield of fruiting bodies of 'Gonji10ho', which was 38% higher than that of control variety, was 69.6 g/900 ml bottle, and in bag cultivation, that of 'Gonji10ho', which was 10% higher than that of control variety, was 114.2 g/1 kg bag. In physical characteristics, the strongness and brittleness of the pileus of 'Gonji10ho' were higher than those of control variety. When considered in the period available for sale, the shelf life of 'Gonji10ho', which was 5 days longer than that of control variety, was 34 days.

Characteristics of a new cultivar 'Hwaseong 5ho' in Pleurotus ostreatus (신품종 느타리버섯 '화성5호'의 특성)

  • "Hwaseong 5ho" was developed by the method of Di-mon mating between monokaryotic strains derived from "Hwaseong 1ho" and dikaryotic strain "PSC109". The color of pileus was dark grayish brown, the shape of pileus was convex or infundibuliform. The length of stipe was longer and the thickness of stipe was some thinner than Suhan 1ho. Material properties of stipe of "Hwaseong 5ho" was higher in strength, hardness, chewingness and brittleness than Suhan 1ho, but similar in elasticity and cohesion. RAPD using URP-primer showed not the same between two strains. Days of primordia formation period were 22-27 days after spawning, that was a little later than Suhan 1ho. In the trial using culture box containing composted cotton waste, yield index of 'Hwaseong 5ho' was 16.6% higher than Suhan 1ho. The farm field trial were showed stable productivity in each different growing conditions.
