비만학생을 위한 전통놀이 중심 비만관리 협동학습프로그램의 효과 (Effects of the Traditional Play-centered Obesity Control Program for Obese Elementary School Children based on Cooperative Learning Theory)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the Traditional Play-centered Obesity Control Cooperative Learning Program based on the cooperative learning theory on obesity rate, physical fitness, self-esteem, and body image specifically in obese elementary school children. Methods: The research design for this study was based on a non- equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted from September, 5 to November 30, 2012. The subjects included 74 obese children ($Exp.=25^{(a)}$, $Com.=24^{(b)}$, $Cont.=25^{(c)}$) with an obesity rate above 20% at an elementary school in G City. Data analysis was performed using SPSS/WIN 18.0, using Chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe test. Results: The obesity rate (F=4.033, p<.022) in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the group (Com, Cont), in which the Traditional Play-Centered Obesity Control Cooperative Learning Program was not implemented. Self-esteem (F=4.310, p<.017) also caused significant differences. 학교보건사업을 통한 건강증진 사업에 대한 연구 (A Study on School Health Promotion Services)

  • The study was designed to gain necessary basic data in order to grasp the health knowledge, attitude, and practice level of students and teachers of elementary, middle and high schools. This study was conducted through interviews of 3,400 students and 1,022 teachers attending 14 different schools large, middle and small cities and rural towns during a period of nine months (from Oct. 2 1995 to Jun. 30 1996). By the results of this study, the recommendations can be summarized as follows: 1. A school health development committee should be established of 10 members: school health related teachers (physical trainers, nurses, and teachers in charge of health), parents, persons related to health administration, local medical doctors, and student reprensentatives in order to support and immplement school health development plans. 2. Like advanced countries, a health class of 2~4 hours should beplaced in middle and high schools. A nurse majoring in health from a university should be the teacher. 3. A curriculum of health should contain the following: education on health, sex, alcohol, tabacco, the misuse of the drugs, the structure and function of human body, the growth of the body, mental health, safety and emergency care, the prevention of disease, proper eating habits and nutrition, daily health life, family health education, society health, community health, environmental pollution and individual responsibility. 4. Create a school health promotion center, with a nurse's office, and a sports center which has health machines (bars, aerobics, training, twist machine, belt massage, running machine, bench press, chest waist, hack hip extension machine) as well as a physical strength measuring machine (muscular strength, alertness, flexibility, endurance, lung functions and so on), so that the teaching staff and students can use them and train their bodies. 5. Through a refresher education program, urge teachers to understand school health promotion services. 6. Regulate a standard and establish a system of monitoring the physical enviroment of the school (the height of desks and chairs, illumination facilities, ventilation facilities, safe drinking water). 7. Create a check list of health to evaluate improvement.

무용전공 여대생들의 등속성 최대우력에 영향을 미치는 인체계측적 요인 (The Anthropometric Factors in Isokinetic Peak Torque of Young Female Dancers)

  • Dance movements consist of combinations of movements such as jumping, rotation, maintaining balance, leg lifts, and plantar flexion with toe shoes. Dance movements require great muscle strength of lower extremities as well as muscular endurance. The purposes of this study were to investigate correlation between the anthropometric variables and the peak torque in young female dancers and to identify variables that affect isokinetic peak torque. Twenty-six female dancers ($19.7{\pm}1.2$ years of age) performed concentric maximum force efforts on the knee extensors and flexors at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and $120^{\circ}/sec$, the ankle plantar flexors (PF) and dorsiflexors (DF) at $30^{\circ}/sec$ and $120^{\circ}/sec$. Antropometric variables such as age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), thigh girth, calf girth and duration of dance training were measured. To identify antropometric variables related to muscle strength, Pearson correlations were computed and a stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed. Pearson correlation coefficients of Knee extensor at $60^{\circ}/sec$ and $120^{\circ}/sec$ revealed moderate positive associations with BMI and thigh girth. Pearson correlation coefficients of ankle PF revealed low-to-moderate positive associations with height. Ankle DF also revealed moderate positive associations with BMI and calf girth. The main predictor variables of knee extensor at 60/sec, were stepwise multiple regression, age, height, thigh and girth.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether physical ability is improved by body stabilization, develop training methods to improve physical fitness factors suitable for body conditions, and provide future management and exercise materials to improve Taekwondo athletes' performance, after conducting the Body stabilization exercise (BSE) program on 22 elementary school Taekwondo athletes for 10 weeks to strengthen core muscles and evaluating Visual response speed test (VRST), Functional movement screen (FMS), Y-Balance test (YBT) and Vital capacity (VC). Methods : In order to examine the impact of the BSE program on Taekwondo athletes' VRST, FMS, YBT and VC this study conducted individual evaluations on all subjects, including VRST, FMS, YBT and VC before applying the programs, and compared exercise effects before and after the program, before and after exercise by a certain period. Results : After exercising, strength and quickness were improved significantly and reaction time was significantly shortened (p<.001). The total score of FMS was improved from 10.86±1.17 before to 11.68±0.99 after exercising, was statistically significant (p=.014). YBT was significantly improved from 91.11±4.84 before to 95.68±5.15 after exercising (p<.001). VC improved was statistically significant (p<.001). Conclusion : In conclusion, the BSE athletic program is expected to help Taekwondo athletes perform well by preventing and reducing injuries through the improvement of muscular strength, strength, speed, agility, step, kick, balance, flexibility, full body endurance and the combination of technical abilities.

Comparison of Muscle Thickness and Changing Ratio for Cervical Flexor Muscles During the Craniocervical Flexion Test Between Subjects With and Without Forward Head Posture

  • Background: The craniocervical flexion test (CCFT) was developed for the activation and endurance of deep cervical flexors. However, the muscle thickness and muscle thickness changing ratio of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) and deep cervical flexor (DCF) muscles in subjects with and without forward head posture (FHP) have not been reported. Objects: To determine the difference in thickness of the SCM and DCF muscles and the difference in the muscle thickness changing ratio between SCM, DCF, and DCF/SCM 20 mmHg and DCF/SCM 30 mmHg between subjects with and without FHP. Methods: Thirty subjects with and without FHP were enrolled. The muscle thickness of the SCM and DCF was measured when maintained at a baseline pressure of 20 mmHg and a maximum pressure of 30 mmHg using a pressure biofeedback unit during the CCFT. Ultrasonography was used to capture images of SCM and DCF muscle thickness during the CCFT, which was calculated using the picture archiving and communication system (PACS). Results: We observed a significant difference within the pressure main effect between SCM and DCF at a baseline pressure of 20 mmHg and a maximum pressure of 30 mmHg (p < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the muscle thickness and muscle thickness changing ratio for SCM and DCF during CCFT between subjects with and without FHP. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the muscle thickness recruitment pattern during CCFT in posture changes between subjects with and without FHP.

12주간의 순환운동이 노인비만여성의 비만, 체력 및 대사증후군 지표에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of 12 Weeks of Circuit Exercise on Obesity, Physical Fitness and Metabolic Syndrome Index in Elderly Obese Women)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 12주간의 순환운동이 노인비만여성의 비만, 체력 및 대사증후군 지표에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 시도되었다. 65세 이상 체질량지수 25이상의 여성 자원자 총19명을 대상으로 12주간의 순환운동 프로그램을 실시하였으며, 운동 프로그램은 가벼운 유산소 운동과 스트레칭으로 준비운동을 실시 한 후 주 3회의 빈도로 매회 30분씩 12주 동안 순환운동 프로그램을 실시하였다. 12주간의 순환운동 프로그램 실시 후, 참가 전에 비해 참가 후의 체중과 체질량지수(p<.001)가 감소되었으며, 체력측정항목에서 하지근력(p<.001)과 상지 근력(p<.05), 상지 유연성(p<.05)과 하지연성(p<.05), 민첩성/동적평형성(p<.001), 전신지구력(p<.05)의 총 6개 모든 항목에서 유의한 향상이 있었고, 대사증후군 지표인 복부비만(p<.01), 수축기혈압(p<.05), 중성지방(p<.001), 고밀도 지단백(p<.01), 혈당(p<.05) 등 이완기 혈압을 제외한 모든 측정항목에서도 12주간의 순환운동 후 운동 참가 전에 비해 유의한 향상이 있었다. 결론적으로 12주간의 순환운동이 노인비만여성에 있어 체중감소와 체력향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 대사증후군 지표의 개선에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

여대생의 건강체력과 비만에 대한 물과 커피 섭취량과의 관계 (Relationship between water and coffee intake on Health-related Physical Fitness and obesity of women's university student)

  • 본 연구는 여대생 900명을 대상으로 물 섭취량과 커피 섭취량에 따른 건강체력 및 비만에 대한 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 측정은 건강체력요인 체력에 근력(악력, 배근력), 근지구력(윗몸일으키기),유연성(앉아앞으로굽히기) 심폐지구력(하버드스텝)을 측정하였고, 체성분 측정기기 Inbody를 이용하여 신체조성(세포내액, 세포외액, 단백질, 무기질, 체수분량, 근육량, 제지방량, 체지방량)과 비만(BMI, 체지방률, 복부지방률, 비만도)의 각 항목을 측정하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS를 이용하여 이원변량분석과 일원변량분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 건강체력과 비만에 대한 물과 커피 섭취량 집단 간 상호작용은 나타나지 않았다. 각 독립변인 별 일원변량분석을 실시한 결과 건강체력요인 중 체력요인은 물과 커피 섭취량에 따른 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 신체조성(세포내액, 단백질, 무기질, 체수분량, 근육량, 제지방량)에서 물7잔 이상 섭취 집단이 1~4잔 섭취 집단보다 유의미하게 높았으며, 커피는 3~4잔 섭취 집단이 미섭취 집단에 비하여 유의미하게 높았다. 비만요인의 경우 물 섭취량에 따라 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 커피의 경우 비만도에서 3~4잔 섭취 집단이 미섭취 집단에 비하여 비만도가 높게 나타나, 커피는 물과 달리 비만과 관련이 있음을 알았다. 차후 물과 커피와 같은 다양한 음료 섭취에 대한 성별, 연령대별 차이에 관한 연구가 진행되어 진다면 보다 나은 건강을 위한 개인별 특성에 따른 수분 섭취방법으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

소아마비에서 4절 연쇄 장하지보조기 사례연구 (Case Study of 4-Bar Linkage KAFO in Person With Poliomyelitis)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the ring lock type knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) with newly developed 4-bar linkage KAFO on the gait characteristics of persons with poliomyelitis clinically. This 4-bar linkage is the stance control type KAFO which provide the stability during stance phase and knee flexion during swing phase. Two subjects participated in this study voluntarily. We provided the customized 4-bar linkage KAFO then asked the subjects to walk in level surface and stairs under the two different KAFO conditions. The characteristics of gait in the persons with poliomyelitis were evaluated using a 3D motion analysis system and force plate. Additionally 6 minute walk test for physiological cost index were conducted using pulse oximeter to measure the energy consumption. In the results of this study, the differences of 4-bar linkage KAFO compared with ring lock type KAFO are as follows: (1) Walking speed, stride length, and step length on level increased in subjects, (2) The gait symmetry was improved by generated knee flexion and decreased pelvic external rotation on level and stairs walking, (3) Decreased vertical excursion of center of mass and pelvic elevation during swing phase was decreased on level, (4) Knee extension moment, hip flexion moment, hip and knee internal rotation moment of non-braced limb were decreased on level walking, (5) Walking speed in 6-minute walk test was increased and physiological cost index was decreased. These findings indicate that 4-bar linkage KAFO compared with ring lock type KAFO is effective in enhancing pattern, endurance, and energy consumption in level surface and stairs walking.

속도-의존적 체중지지 트레드밀 보행이 뇌졸중 환자의 보행에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Speed-dependent with Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training on the Ambulation of Stroke)

  • This study is the quasi-experimental study on the gait training rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to prepare the baseline data for most suitable of gait while we were scrutinizing how the walking characters, functional walking ability, gait quality of stroke patients were affected by the gait on BWSTT (Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training) through the change of treadmill velocity and body weight support. To accomplish this purpose, this study used thirty subjects, more than 3 months post stroke, for rehabilitation who were divided between two gait training groups they received the neurophysiological physical therapy. For 6 weeks, 5 times a week for 15 minutes per session, the BWSTT group participated in 30 sessions structured speed-dependent treadmill training with 30% body weight supported, and the ratio of body weight support was gradually decreased as the patients advanced the capability of more self-support. The OGT(Over Ground Training) group received the same quantity of equal sessions like BWSTT. Firstly, we measured the absolute improvement of walking velocity (m/s), capacity(min/m) and cadence(steps/min) among walking characters. Secondly, we measured the functional walking ability such as Functional Ambulatory Category(FAC, score out of 5), Modified Motor Assesment Scale(MMAS, score out of 6) and Gait Quality Chart(score out of 41). Data analysis was performed with using SPSS 10.0 win program. The descriptive analysis was used to obtain average and standard deviation. The independent t-test and the paired t-test were used to compare both the groups about pre and post training test. Treatment effects were established by pre and post assessment. Subjects tolerated the training well without side-effects. Therefore, the results of this study were as follows; 1. There was a more significant difference from the improvement of walking velocity(0.09m/s), endurance(4.53min/m), cadence(4.20steps/min), FAC(0.26score), MMAS(0.33 score) and hip joint and pelvic of gait quality(0.39 score) ever before in the BWSTT group(p<.05). 2. There was a more significant increase from the walking velocity(0.01m/s) in the OGT group(p<.05). 3. There was a more statistical significant increase from comparing the average of walking velocity in both groups ever before(0.42m/s in BWSTT group and 0.31m/s in OGT group)(p<.05). There was a statistical significant difference from the average of cadence in both groups(61.87step/min in BWSTT group and 3.60steps/min in OGT group)(p<.05). As we can see from above, the findings suggest that BWSTT may be more effective than the OGT for improving some gait parameters such as gait velocity and cadency. This conclusion also suggest that BWSTT is more effective for the improvement of gait of stroke patients.

스포츠탤런트 발굴 참여 아동의 체격 및 체력 요소 비교 (Comparison of physique and physical fitness in sports talent children with TES program)

  • 이 연구는 2009년부터 2011년까지 스포츠탤런트 발굴육성 프로그램에 참가한 체육영재 아동들의 연도, 연령, 참가한 회수와 성별에 따른 체격 및 체력 특성을 비교 분석하여 효과적인 스포츠탤런트 발굴 시스템의 기초데이터로 활용하고, TES 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 위해 3년간 수도권 지역에서 서울 H대학에 지원한 7세~13세 체육영재 아동 (1회 참가자: 506명, 2회 참가자: 104명, 3회 참가자: 58명; 총 668명)들의 체격 및 체력 측정자료가 사용되었다. 성별을 분리해서 프로그램 참가 회수에 따른 체격 및 체력 변수의 변화는 일원분산분석 방법을 이용하여 분석하였고, 체력과 체격 변수 간의 관계를 규명하기 위해서 상관분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 프로그램에 참여한 아동들의 참가회수 증가에 따라 체격변수의 차이는 나타나지 않았으나, 체력변수에 있어서는 남자아동 (근지구력, p<.01; 순발력, p<.05; 민첩성, p<.01; 유연성, p<.01)과 여자아동 (근지구력, p<.01; 민첩성, p<.01)에 유의한 향상을 보여 스포츠탤런트 발굴육성 프로그램의 효과성을 입증할 수 있었다.
