Photovoltaic System is clearness source of energy that don't flow out environmental pollution. For effective management of photo- voltaic systems, PVCMS (Photovoltaic Central Monitoring System) is operated in 24 site throughout the country. This paper verifies reliability of the data of CMS by measuring voltage, current, power of PV system and presents coefficient of output. Also, calculated efficiency of PV system is compared with real efficiency.
Photovoltaic (PV) systems are influenced by disproportionate impacts on energy production caused by frequent mismatch cases. The occurrence of multiple maximum power points (MPPs) adds complexity to the tracking process in various PV systems. However, current maximum-power point tracking (MPPT) techniques exhibit limited performance. This paper introduces an enhanced simulated annealing (ESA)-based GMPPT technique against multiple MPP issues in P-V curve with different PV system structures. The proposed technique not only distinguishes global and local MPPs but also performs rapid convergence speed and high tracking accuracy of irradiance changing and restart capability detection. Moreover, the proposed global maximum power tracking algorithm can be applied in the central converter of DMPPT and hybrid PV system to meet various application scenarios. Its effectiveness is verified by simulation and test results.
This paper reposes a novel tracking algerian for efficiency improvement of photovoltaic(PV) system using sensor method PV system of sensor method is exactly impossible to track a sun position when insolation is low or rapidly changed by the clouds and fogs. Also, in this case, tracking device is occurred energy consumption by unnecessary operating. This statement of reason, real power of PV system is not increased than fixed PV system in specified location. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel ticking algorithm considered insolation for efficiency improvement of PV system using sensor method And this paper analyzes the generation volume and proves the validity of proposed algorithm as compared with the conventional PV tracking system using sensor method.
Both the introduction of the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) system into the electric energy market in 2012 and a decrease in the cost of constructing photovoltaic (PV) power plants have been increasing the number of MW PV plants in South Korea. Jeju Island is located at the center of three nations, South Korea, China and Japan, and its provincial government declared in 2012 that the island will be a clean region where greenhouse gases are not emitted by 2030. The Jeju provincial government is now doing its best to install PV plants and wind farms to realize a carbon-free island. In this study we investigated contribution of MW PV plants to the power of the electric grid during summer peak times on Jeju Island. Mt. Halla the highest mountain in South Korea, is located at the center of Jeju Island, and we divided the island into four regions and carried out analyses of a total of 24 PV plants. The average contribution of the PV plants in the respective region to electric power of Jeju Island during summer peak times was investigated and compared with those of the other regions. The best average contribution during the 12.5% maximum load period was obtained from the PV plants in the western region, and the value was 33% during 2015 and 2016.
In this paper proposes a novel tracking algorithm regarding the power loss when operating a tracking system for a rapidly changing insolation to improve the power of PV tracking system. In case of tracking an azimuth and altitude of the sun in realtime, therefore, the actual PV power is less increasing than the power of tracking system fixed a specific position. To reduce the power loss, this paper proposes a nonel control algorithm of the tracking system. The paper is analyzed efficiency about conventional PV tracking method, comparing proposed algorithm with high performance method. We show propriety of proposed algorithm by means of the demonstrable study.
In general, the unidirectional power flow is normal in distribution feeders before activation of distributed power source such as PV. However, the interactive power flow is likely to occur in case of the power system under distributed generation. This interactive power flow can cause an unexpected effect on convectional protection coordination systems designed based only on the unidirectional power flow system. When the power line system encounters a problem, the interactive power flow can be a contributed current source and this makes the fault current bigger or smaller compared to the unidirectional case. The effect of interactive power flow is varied depending on the location of the point to ground fault, relative location of the PV, and connection method. Therefore it is important to analyse characteristics of fault current and interactive flow for various transformer connection and location of the PV. This paper proposes a method of improved protection coordination which can be adopted in the protective device for customers in distribution feeders interconnected with the PV. The proposed method is simulated and analysed using PSCAD/EMTDC under various conditions.
Recently, the importance of energy demand management, particularly peak load control, has been increasing due to the policy changes of the Second Energy Basic Plan. Even though the installation of distributed generation systems such as Photovoltaic and energy storage systems (ESS) are encouraged, high initial installation costs make it difficult to expand their supply. In this study, the power consumption of a university building was measured in real time and the measured power consumption data was used to calculate the optimal installation capacity of the Photovoltaic and ESS, respectively. In order to calculate the optimal capacity, it is necessary to analyze the operation methods of the Photovoltaic and ESS while considering the KEPCO electricity billing system, power consumption patterns of the building, installation costs of the Photovoltaic and ESS, estimated savings on electric charges, and life time. In this study, the power consumption of the university building with a daily power consumption of approximately 200kWh and a peak power of approximately 20kW was measured per minute. An economic analysis conducted using these measured data showed that the optimal capacity was approximately 30kW for Photovoltaic and approximately 7kWh for ESS.
In remote islands, due to expense of existing generation systems, installation of photovoltaic cells (PVs) and wind turbines has a chance of reducing generation costs. However, in island power systems, even short-term power fluctuations change the frequency of grids because of their small inertia constant. In order to compensate power fluctuations, the authors proposed the power consumption control of pumps which send water to tanks. The power control doesn’t affect water users’ convenience as long as tanks hold water. Based on experimental characteristics of a pump system, this paper shows methods to determine reference power consumption of the system with compensation for short-term PV fluctuations while satisfying water demand. One method uses a PI controller and the other method calculates reference power consumption from water flow reference. Simulations with a PV and a pump system are carried out to find optimum parameters and to compare the methods. Results show that both PI control method and water flow calculation method are useful for satisfying the water demand constraint. The water demand constraint has a little impact to suppression of the short-term power fluctuation in this condition.
This paper proposes efficient operation method of PV system consisted of multi-central which is suitable for large scale system. The multi-central system used switch at a DC-link and applied proposed algorithm can improve the efficiency and the reliability on the existing system. This algorithm, with advantage of Multi-Central system can minimize the effect of different characteristic of each PV array due to a shadow or damaged PV cell. Each system is analysed and maximum power point tracking control, DC-link voltage control and output current control is used commonly. The validity is verified after comparing of the existing system and proposed system by simulation.
