졸-겔법으로 제조한 Zn2SiO4:Mn, M(M=Cr, Ti) 녹색 형광체의 발광특성 (Luminescence Properties of Zn2SiO4:Mn, M(M=Cr, Ti) Green Phosphors Prepared by Sol-gel Method)

  • PDP(Plasma Display Panel)용 녹색 형광체의 발광특성과 결정성을 향상시키기 위해 Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:Mn에 co-dopant로 Cr과 Ti 를 각각 첨가하여 졸-겔법으로 합성하였다. 이렇게 합성된 Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:Mn, M(M=Cr, Ti) 형광체는 고상반응의 경우와 비교하여 상대적으로 낮은 온도인 110$0^{\circ}C$에서 willemite 구조의 단일상이 형성되었다. 제조된 Zn$_2$SiO$_4$:Mn, M(M=Cr, Ti) 형광체에 대하여 진공자외선(Vacuum Ultraviolet, VUV) 영역의 147 nm 여기광원을 사용하여 발광특성을 조사하였다. Co-dopant의 영향을 알아보기 위해 Mn의 농도는 2 ㏖%, $H_2O$/TEOS의 비율은 36.1로 고정하였고, 이때 Cr과 Ti 모두 0.1 ㏖%에서 가장 좋은 발광특성을 나타냈다. Cr이 co-doping된 경우는 농도가 증가할수록 잔광시간은 짧아지나 발광강도는 지속적으로 감소한 반면, Ti를 co-doping했을 때는 오히려 낮은 농도에서 발광강도의 증가를 보이며 2.0 ㏖%에서 급격히 감소하였다.

Preparation of SrGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ Phosphors by the Microwave-Modified Sol-Gel Method and Their Upconversion Photoluminescence Properties

  • $SrGd_{2-x}(MoO_4)_4:Er^{3+}/Yb^3$ phosphors with doping concentrations of $Er^{3+}$+ and $Yb^{3+}$ ($x=Er^{3+}+Yb^{3+}$, $Er^{3+}=0.05$, 0.1, 0.2, and $Yb^{3+}=0.2$, 0.45) were successfully synthesized by the cyclic microwave-modified sol-gel method, and their upconversion mechanism and spectroscopic properties have been investigated in detail. Well-crystallized particles showed a fine and homogeneous morphology with grain sizes of $2-5{\mu}m$. Under excitation at 980 nm, $SrGd_{1.7}(MoO_4)_4:Er_{0.1}Yb_{0.2}$ and $SrGd_{1.5}(MoO_4)_4:Er_{0.05}Yb_{0.45}$ particles exhibited a strong 525-nm emission band, a weak 550-nm emission band in the green region, and a very weak 655-nm emission band in the red region. The Raman spectra of the doped particles indicated the domination of strong peaks at higher frequencies of 1023, 1092, and $1325cm^{-1}$ and at lower frequencies of 223, 2932, 365, 428, 538, and $594cm^{-1}$ induced by the incorporation of the $Er^{3+}$+ and $Yb^{3+}$+ elements into the $Gd^{3+}$ site in the crystal lattice, which resulted in the unit cell shrinkage accompanying a new phase formation of the $[MoO_4]^{2-}$ groups.

Effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate surfactant on up-conversion luminescence of Er3+/Yb3+-codoped NaLa(MoO4)2 nanocolloidal phosphor prepared by pulsed laser ablation in water

  • Er3+/Yb3+-codoped NaLa(MoO4)2 colloidal nanocrystals were synthesized by pulsed laser ablations in de-ionized water and sodium dodecyl sulfate (NaC12H25SO4, SDS) aqueous solution for up-conversion (UC) luminescence bio-labeling applications. The influences of the SDS molecules on the crystallinities, crystal morphologies, crystallite sizes, and UC luminescence properties of the prepared Er3+/Yb3+-codoped NaLa(MoO4)2 colloidal nanocrystals were investigated in detail. Under a 980-nm excitation, the Er3+/Yb3+-codoped nanocolloidal NaLa(MoO4)2 suspension exhibited a weak red emission near 670 nm and strong green UC emissions at 530 and 550 nm, corresponding to the intra 4f transitions of Er3+ (4F9/2, 2H11/2, 4S3/2) → Er3+ (4I15/2). When the SDS solution was used, a smaller average crystallite size, narrower size distribution, and enhanced UC luminescence were observed. These characteristics were attributed to the amphoteric SDS molecules attached to the positively charged Er3+/Yb3+-codoped NaLa(MoO4)2 colloidal nanocrystals, effectively occupying the oxygen defect on their surfaces. The Er3+/Yb3+-codoped nanocrystalline NaLa(MoO4)2 suspension prepared in the SDS solution exhibited a remarkably strong green emission visible to the naked eyes.

Influence of HMDS additive on the properties of YAG:Ce nanophosphor

  • YAG:Ce 형광제 제조에 있어서 공침(co-precipitation) 후 n-butanol 공비증류(azeotropic distillation)시 HMDS(hexadimethyldisilazane)를 첨가하였을 때, 형광체가 광학특성에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구하였다. 물과 유기용제에 의한 공비증류 시 유기용제의 분자량이 크면 표면의 수소결합이 유기용제로 치환됨으로서 표면장력을 감소시켜 분체의 원형화(conglobation)와 응집(agglomerate)을 감소시키므로 유기용제로 n-butanol보다 분자량이 큰 HMDS을 첨가하였다. N-butanol 만을 사용한 형광체가 HMDS를 첨가한 것 보다 응집(agglomerate)되는 현상이 감소하였으며 우수한 광학적 특성을 나타내었다.

Luminescence of $Y_{2-x}Ce_xSiO_5$ Phosphor

  • Photoluminescence (PL) and cathodoluminescence (CL) characteristics of Ce-activated $Y_{2-x}Ce_xSiO_5$ have been investigated as functions of Ce concentration and firing condition. According to the X-ray, PL and CL results, $Y_2SiO_5$ is found to have two phases depending on the firing temperature. For the specimen fired above 127$0^{\circ}C$, the emission band peaked at 395nm with a shoulder at 424 nm under ultraviolet (u.v.) and cathode-ray (c.r.) excitation. However, for the specimen fired below 120$0^{\circ}C$ in air the peak was observed at 424 nm and it shifted to longer wavelength with reduction level. The reduced specimen for x=0.02 showed the brightest emission under u.v. excitation whereas under c.r. excitation the brightest emission was observed for the reduced specimen for x=0.06.

  • In this study, ultrasonic rotary motors using a bolted langevin type ultrasonic vibrator were designed and fabricated. The stator vibrator has a longitudinal transducer section composed of two metal blocks and two piezoelectric ceramic elements (thickness-polarized) and a mode conversion metal block section called a torsion coupler. And, three kinds of motors were studied by finite element analysis and experiments. So, as material of torsion coupler which generate mode conversion of vibration copper, brass, and phosphor bronze were used. As a result, speed and torque were changed in proportion to the electrical input Voltage, but it was saturated in high voltage. And bad efficiency which was different from a expectation was measured in this motors. So, various problems should be improved for practical use. Finally, The motor which has 1 [cm] diameter was fabricated to present a possibility of miniaturization of this type motors.

Up-conversion Luminescence Characterization of CeO2:Ho3+/Yb3+ Particles Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis

  • Spherical $CeO_2:Ho^{3+}/Yb^{3+}$ particles were synthesized using spray pyrolysis, and the upconversion (UC) properties were investigated with changing the preparation conditions and the infrared pumping power. The resulting particles had a size of about $1{\mu}m$ and hollow structure. The prepared $CeO_2:Ho^{3+}/Yb^{3+}$ particles exhibited intense green emission due to the $^5F_4/^5S_2{\rightarrow}^5I_8$ transition of $Ho^{3+}$ and showed weak red or near-IR peaks. In terms of achieving the highest UC emission, the optimal concentrations of $Ho^{3+}$ and $Yb^{3+}$ were 0.3% and 2.0%, respectively. The UC emission intensity of prepared $CeO_2:Ho^{3+}/Yb^{3+}$ particles had a linear relationship with crystallite size and concentration quenching was caused by dipole-dipole interaction between the same ions. Based on the dependency of UC emission on the pumping power, the observed green upconversion was achieved through a typical two-photon process and concluded that the main energy transfer from $Yb^{3+}$ to $Ho^{3+}$ was involved in the ground-state adsorption (GSA) process.

상업용 유리프릿의 소결 공정을 이용한 내수성을 갖는 CsPbBr3/Glass 세라믹 복합체의 제작 (Simple Fabrication of Green Emission and Water-Resistant CsPbBr3 Encapsulation Using Commercial Glass Frits)

  • In this work, narrow-band green-emitting CsPbBr3 particles are embedded in commercialized glass composites by a facile dry process. By optimizing the method through sintering in glass frit (GF) composites including CsBr and PbBr2, used as precursors, the encapsulation of CsPbBr3 particles made them waterproof with green fluorescence. To improve the fluorescent properties by reducing aggregation of CsPbBr3, fumed silica (FS) is additionally used to help particles avoid bulking up in the glass matrix. The CsPbBr3 perovskite/glass composites are characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) maps, which support the existence of CsPbBr3 particles in the glass matrix. The photoluminescence (PL) properties demonstrate that the emission spectrum peak, full width at half maximum (FWHM), and photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) values are 519 nm, 17 nm, and 17.7 %. We also confirm the water-resistant properties. To enhance water/moisture stability, the composite sample is put directly into water, with its PLQY monitored periodically under UV light.

  • Sol-gel method로 합성한 anatase상의 $TiO_2$와 Yb와 Er을 codoping한 $TiO_2:Yb^{3+},\;Er^{3+}$ 파우더의 열적안정성과 이에 따른 광촉매 특성의 변화를 비교하였다. XRD 분석을 통하여 $TiO_2$ 결정성 및 상변화에 $Yb^{3+},\;Er^{3+}$ ions이 미치는 영향을 온도에 따라 비교하였으며 anatase $TiO_2$와 rutile $TiO_2$의 광학적 성질을 UV-Vis을 통하여 비교하였다. UV-Vis 분석결과 anatase $TiO_2:Yb^{3+},\;Er^{3+}$ ions도핑에 의하여 $TiO_2$의 밴드갭이 미세하게 감소함을 확인하였고 이를 통해 광촉매 작용을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. $Yb^{3+}$ 이온과 $Er^{3+}$ 이온이 도핑된 $TiO_2:Yb^{3+},\;Er^{3+}$ 파우더를 980 nm에서 PL 분석하여 녹색 및 적색 형광을 하는 up-converting 형광특성을 분석하였다.

Eu 도핑 SrAl2O4 형광체의 광 여기 전류 특성에 대한 Dy 코-도핑 효과 (Dy co-doping effect on photo-induced current properties of Eu-doped SrAl2O4 phosphor)

  • $Eu^{2+}$-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ and $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$ co-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ phosphors have been synthesized by conventional solid state method. Photocurrent properties of $Eu^{2+}$ doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ and $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$ co-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ phosphors, in order to elucidate $Dy^{3+}$ co-doping effect, during and after ceasing ultraviolet-ray (UV) irradiation have been investigated. The photocurrent of $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$ co-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ phosphors during UV irradiation was 4-times lower than that of $Eu^{2+}$-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ during UV irradiation, and 7-times higher than that of $Eu^{2+}$-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ after ceasing UV irradiation. The photocurrent results indicated that holes of charge carriers captured in hole trapping center during the UV irradiation and liberated after-glow process, and made clear that $Dy^{3+}$ of co-dopant acted as a hole trap. The photocurrent of ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ showed a good proportional relationship to UV intensity in the range of $1{\sim}5mW/cm^2$, and $Eu^{2+}$-doped ${SrAl_2}{O_4}$ was confirmed to be a possible UV sensor.
