Perceptions, Attitudes, and Interests of Halal Tourism: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between concept perceptions and people's attitudes in halal tourism, development perceptions and people's attitudes, attitude and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, development perceptions and people's interest, concept perceptions and people's interest, and development perceptions and people's interest. The method used in this research is SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) method. The population in this study was all Banten people. The samples in this study were respondents in five districts/cities in Banten, namely Tangerang (127 respondents), Serang (63 respondents), Pandeglang (97 respondents), Lebak (69 respondents), and Tangerang City (62 respondents). The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The data collection method used by researchers is a survey through filling out an online questionnaire. Based on regression test results shows concept perceptions has a significant effect on people's attitudes Development perceptions has no significant effect on people's attitudes, the attitude has no significant effect on people's interest, concept perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest, development perceptions have no significant effect on people's interest. Concept perceptions have no significant effect on people's interests through people's attitudes. Development perceptions have no significant effect on people's interests through people's attitudes.

대학생이 지각하는 자아정체감과 부모의 부부관계가 결혼관에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of University Students' Identity and Parent's Marital Relationship on their Perceptions of Marriage)

  • By examining variables affecting university student's perceptions of marriage, this study aimed to better understand how to promote positive perceptions of marriage among university students. The study sample consisted of 488 university students and their parents in Incheon and Gyeonggi, Korea. For data analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. First, results showed that individual growth, emotional stability, and overall perceptions of marriage varied by gender. And results showed that individual growth, institutional necessity, and overall perceptions of marriage varied by grade. Second, higher levels of perceptions of marriage among university students were significantly correlated with greater university student's identity, better parent's marital relationship. Third, the personal relations was most influential variable on university student's perceptions of marriage, followed by the parent's conflict and authority the mother's duties, followed by the target orientating, gender and grade. Overall, results suggest that parent's marital relationship is important for promotion of positive perceptions of marriage among university students. Also, systematic analysis of university student's identity and programs to address such problems are needed.

병원 종사자의 조직정치지각과 직무태도 관계에서 조직신뢰의 조절효과 (The Moderation Effect of Organization Trust on the Relationship between Perceptions of Organizational Politics and Job Attitudes in Hospital Employees)

  • This study investigates the moderation effect that organizational trust had on the relationship between perceptions of organizational politics and organizational commitment, intention to turnover, organizational citizenship behavior by analyzing the empirical data of 716 personnels collected from university hospital in Korea. We hypothesized that perceptions of organizational politics would tended to negatively related to a high level of organizational commitment and intention to turnover, organizational citizenship behaviors, and that organizational trust would moderate the relationship between perceptions of organizational politics and outcomes. These results suggest that organizational politics of perceptions had negative impacts on organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviors, while perceptions of organizational politics had positive impact on intention to turnover. Furthermore, the level of organizational trust moderated the relationship between perceptions of organizational politics and outcomes. Based on these findings, implications of the research findings are discussed, and recommendation for future research and practice are provided.

Nexus between Inflation, Inflation Perceptions and Expectations

  • We uncover a nexus between actual inflation, inflation perceptions and expectations in Korea through analyzing micro as well as aggregate data from the Consumer Survey. We document two novel findings. First, households' subjective perceptions of inflation exert more impact on expectation formation than actual inflation. Second, inflation perceptions are broadly in line with the trajectory of the inflation trend. This is attributable to the fact that changes in actual inflation have been generated mainly by the consumption items whose price changes are perceived more sensitively as those items are frequently bought or have a larger share in household expenditures. Conducting a cross-country comparison, we find that information rigidity in expectation formation process and the nexus between perceptions and expectations of inflation prove to be stronger in Korea. Additionally, we reconfirm the existing finding that the scope of information utilized for forming inflation expectations is fairly circumscribed.

  • This research aims to examine the effects of engineering students' self-regulated learning strategies on writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence. To achieve this purpose, firstly, differences in self-regulated learning strategies, writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence were investigated among engineering and non-engineering students. Secondly, the effects of self-regulated learning strategies, as perceived by engineering students, on writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence were explored. A total of 196 engineering and non-engineering students from one university in Korea responded to a survey based on a four-variable scale. The findings were as follows: firstly, there were significant differences in self-regulated learning strategies, writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence by major. Secondly, positive correlations between self-regulated learning strategies, writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence were identified in terms of sub-factors of those variables. Thirdly, engineering students' self-regulated learning strategies predicted writing self-efficacy, perceptions of writing feedback, and learning presence. The practical implications of these findings are discussed herein, with particular attention to education for the promotion of self-regulated learning strategies and their application to writing courses, as well as diverse learning environments.

An Empirical Encounter of Cultural Orientation and Cultivation Theory: Factors of Perception of Materialistic Realities and Dealing with Materialism of University Students in South Korea

  • The purpose of this study is to explore whether the perceptions of materialistic realities of South Korean university students can be explained by individual experience and media use. We examined: 1) relative consequences of awareness of discrimination experience and amounts of time spent on genre-specific media on perceptions of materialistic realities, 2) whether cultural orientation (allocentrism, self-monitoring, and masculinity) influences explanatory factors of awareness of discrimination experience, 3) conditions of countervailing responses to materialistic reality. As a result of analyzing the online survey data of 330 university students in Seoul, the amount of time spent on the beauty or fashion genre and awareness of discrimination experience explained the perceptions of materialist reality in Korean society. Although the perceptions that affected the accommodative response did not affect countervailing response, innovativeness had an interaction effect with perceptions of materialist reality in only countervailing response. Finally, the implications of these findings were discussed.

생태유아교육 실천과 보육교사의 특성 및 인식 간의 관계 (Characteristics and Perceptions of Daycare Teachers in Relation with the Practices of Eco Early Childhood Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' practices of Eco Early Childhood Education (EECE) according to the characteristics and perceptions of daycare teachers, and the impacts of teachers' characteristics and perceptions on their EECE practices. The subjects in this study were 110 teachers who were worked at daycare centers in the Gyeongnam area of Korea. The teachers completed questionnaires concerning their perceptions and practices within the EECE. The collected data were analyzed by t-tests, one-way ANOVA, correlation coefficients, and regression. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The daycare teachers differed in their degree of EECE practices depending on their characteristics. 2) The daycare teachers were significantly different in their practices of EECE according to their perceptions. 3) The teachers' characteristics and perceptions of ECCE explained their practices of EECE. Particularly, teacher educational levels and the perceptions of ECCE by teachers were positively associated with their practices.

한국인의 과학기술자에 대한 인식분석: 세대, 성, 전공계열의 영향을 중심으로 (Public Perceptions of Scientists and Engineers in Korea: Focusing on the Effects of Generation, Gender, and Class Fields)

  • By analyzing a national survey of public understanding of science and technology, this paper attempts to examine public perceptions of scientists and engineers in Korea. A special attention is given to the gap in the view of scientists and engineers across generation, gender, and class fields (or major fields). This paper shows that generation has the strongest effect on public perceptions of scientists and engineers among all the socio-demographic factors examined in this study. Those over 50 are more likely to have the conventional idealized images of scientists and the stereotypical negative images of scientists simultaneously, while the 20s are less likely to accept the idealized image of scientists. The survey result thus may suggest that the younger generation began to depart from a patriotic and moral description of scientists and engineers-for the younger generation, science and engineering is losing moral respect but becomes perceived as an ordinary occupation. Contrary to the popular belief, however, gender has little effect on public perceptions of scientists and engineers. This finding questions the assertion that female students possess more negative attitudes toward scientists and engineers than male students, and thus are reluctant to develop careers related to science and engineering. By uncovering that class fields (or major areas) have no effect on the image of scientists, this study also call into question the assertion in the science wars that the inadequate appreciation of science particularly among those who do not major in science and engineering is responsible for inadequate support for science and technology.

한국 소비자의 기대 인플레이션 결정요인 (Determinants of Inflation Expectations of South Korean Consumers )

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of consumers' inflation expectations using consumers' inflation perceptions and the sub-components of consumer price index (CPI) basket in South Korea based on a consumer survey conducted by the Bank of Korea (BOK). Design/methodology/approach - Using Carroll's (2003) epidemiological model, we analyzed data from January 2013 to January 2023, resulting in a data set of 121 observations for both inflation perceptions and inflation expectations. This study focuses only on aggregate inflation expectations and perceptions because of data availability from the BOK. Findings - Professionals' forecasts play a major role in forming consumers' inflation expectations, whereas the actual headline CPI and consumers' inflation perceptions do not. These results remain robust when including the sub-components of the CPI basket in the analysis. Research implications or Originality - It would be the most efficient way to suppress professionals' expected inflation in fighting against a substantial spike in consumers' inflation expectations. To guide consumers' inflation expectations based on BOK's inflation targeting, the bank needs to consider professionals' forecasts in devising monetary policies.

중학교 과학 수업에서 일정성분비 법칙의 강의와 실험에 대한 교사 및 학생들의 인식 (The Teachers' and Students' Perceptions on Lectures and Experiments of Law of Definite Proportion in Middle School Science Classes)

  • 이 연구에서는 중학교 과학 수업에서 다루는 일정성분비 법칙의 강의와 실험에 대한 과학 교사들과 학생들의 인식을 알아보았다. 이 연구를 위해 3명의 교사 수업을 관찰 기록하고, 면담을 통해 수업과 실험에 대한 인식을 알아보았다. 또한 학생들의 과학 성적과 인지 수준과 과학 태도, 실험 보고서 등을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들에 따라 강의 수업에서 강조하는 점이 달랐으며, 특히 화학교사들은 기본 개념보다는 비례 관계의 계산과 응용에 더 큰 관심을 가지고 있었다. 그러나 학생들은 기본 개념을 제대로 이해하지 못하였다. 실험 수업에서도 교사들은 학생들의 수행 수준이 낮다고 보고, 실험 과정을 설명하는데 많은 시간을 할애하였다. 그리고 실험 결과의 오차에 대해 부정적인 인식을 가졌다. 학생들은 실험 과정에 대해 제대로 이해하지 못하였으며, 실험 결과를 인위적으로 조작하고, 실험 오차에 대해 부정적인 인식을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 문제는 교사의 학교 과학 수업과 실험에 대한 인식의 변화를 통해 해결될 수 있음을 제안하였다.
