  • The purpose of this study was grouping students' perception types on the unexpected results in experiments, and looking into how the problem-solving experiment affected the change of these perception types. In order to answer this, interview data were analyzed in terms of perception types, and through analysis of questionnaires carried out at the beginning and the end of the semester, the change of perception types was researched. As a result, perception types of students divided into 'the difference between theory and practice,' 'inexperience of experiment skill,' and 'No reading between lines in manual.' After performing the problem-solving experiment for one semester, the perception of 'the difference between theory and practice' declined, and the desire for 'reading between lines' increased, so the problem-solving experiment influenced on the change of perception positively.

  • This study was intended to investigate the influences of consumer's self-monitoring, pioneer brand awareness, types of endorsers on quality perception of "me-too" brands with a focus on outdoor brands. The design of this research was comprised of 2 types of self-monitoring(high vs. low), 2 types of pioneer brand awareness(high vs. low), 2 types of endorsers(professional expert vs. typical consumer). The study was carried out by using samples from residents of Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The number of subjects used in the final analysis totaled 243, with age of the consumers ranging grom 20's to 50's. The results of this study were as follows. Self-monitoring, pioneer brand awareness and types of endorsers had shown a statistically significant correlation effect on the quality perception of me-too brands. Especially, in the high-level self-monitoring group, the effect of pioneer brand awareness on quality perception of me-too brand was significant when typical consumer model was given. The result presents that using a professional expert model in the market rather than a typical consumer model can offset the quality perception of pioneer brand with low awareness.

  • This research is to classify psychological risk perceptions in purchases process at counterfeit at fashion luxury brands, into a risk perception on purchase activity itself and a risk perception on the post-purchase situation, and to analyze types and characteristics at risk reduction behaviors to reduce each risk perception. In this research a qualitative method was employed, and research-related data were collected and analyzed through in-depth interviews. Results were shown that risk reduction behaviors at psychological risk perception on purchase activity itself included rationalization of purchase, accompanied purchase, reduction and discontinuance of purchase, and that risk reduction behaviors of psychological risk perception on the post-purchase situation included information search, establishment of selection criteria, establishment of marginal limit, selective purchase, planned and compared purchase, and reduction and discontinuance of purchase. Previous researches suggested brand loyalty, selection of famous brands, utilization of information agents by marketers, pre-purchase usage and guaranteed purchase, but these risk reduction methods were not utilized, this probably being interpreted as a result of characteristics of counterfeit. In addition, risk reduction behavior of one type tended to reduce risk perception of several other types, and risk reduction behaviors of various types were utilized to reduce a certain type's risk perception. Not only types of risk perception but also levels of risk perception appeared to have exerted influence to risk reduction behaviors.

  • The degree of mutual understanding between nursing students and instructors regarding simulation-based education remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivity of nursing students and instructors about simulation-based learning, and was intended to expand the mutual understand by employing the co-orientation model. Q-methodology was used to identify the perspectives of 46 nursing students and 38 instructors. Perception types found among students in relation to simulation-based learning were developmental training seekers, instructor-dependent seekers, and learning achievement seekers. The instructors estimated the student perception types as passive and dependent, positive commitment, demanding role as facilitators, and psychological burden. Perception types found among instructors included nursing capacity enhancement seekers, self-reflection seekers, and reality seekers. The students classified the instructors' perception types as nursing competency seekers, learning reinforcement seekers, and debriefing-oriented seekers. As a result of the analysis of these relations in the co-orientation model, instructors identified psychological burden and passive and dependent cognitive frameworks among students; however, these were not reported in the students' perspectives. Likewise, the reality seekers type found among the perception types of instructors was not identified by the students. These findings can help develop and implement simulation-based curricula aimed at maximizing the learning effect of nursing students.

  • The present study investigates the perception of Korean phonation types by native speakers of Aymara. Perception tests were conducted on two sets of Korean speech materials to determine correspondence between Korean and Aymara 3-way contrasts and to find out which of the consonantal and vocalic part of the syllable is more influential in the perception of Korean phonation types. A set of manipulated stimuli, as well as a set of 12 spontaneous words, were prepared for the tests. The first syllable of the 12 Korean bisyllabic words of 3 series of phonation types(Lenis, Aspirated, and Fortis) in 4 places of articulation were split into consonantal and vocalic parts. And then the two parts were combined to form 9 tokens of CV sequences respectively for each place of articulation. Native speakers of Aymara were forced to match Korean stimuli with one of the 15 Aymara words which represent 3 series of consonant types(plain, aspirated, and ejective) in 5 places of articulation(bilabial, alveolar, palatal, velar, and uvular). Results showed that the consonantal part is more influential than the vocalic part to the Aymara subjects' perception of Korean phonation types when the consonantal part is Aspirated in its phonation type, but the vocalic part is more influential than the consonantal part when the consonantal part is Lenis or Fortis in its phonation type. Response analysis showed that Aymara subjects tend to match Korean stops to Aymara ones in such a way that Lenis corresponds to aspirated, Aspirated to aspirated, and Fortis to plain.

  • The first purpose of this study was to reveal the types of shopping value of college students. The second purpose was to examine the change in the perception and management behaviors related to credit cards according to the types of shopping value. The third purpose was to examine the effects of shopping value on perception and management behaviors on credit cards. The data were collected from 392 college students in Seoul by a self-administered questionnaire. Analyses including frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation analysis, Crosstabulation analysis, analysis of variance, K-means Cluster analysis and Multiple linear regression were conducted using SPSS WIN12.0. The major findings were as follows. First, college students can be categorized into 3 types of shopping values by K-means Cluster analysis of 14 items. The groups were entitled the hedonistic shopping value, the utilitarian shopping value, and the saving shopping value. Second, positive perception and management behaviors related to credit cards were different depending on the types of shopping value. The hedonistic shopping value group had a higher level of positive perception of credit cards and a lower level of credit card management, compared with the other groups. The saving shopping value group had higher levels of both positive perception and management of credit cards. Among the three groups, the utilitarian shopping group had the lowest level of positive perception of credit cards, despite having ahigher level of credit card management. Lastly, the most effective variance on credit card management was the utilitarian shopping value. These results suggest that a healthy shopping value is very important for having a healthy perception and management of credit cards, because shopping value is a critical variance to affect perception and management of credit cards.
