Objectives: This study aims to assess the stages of individual readiness to take the cancer screening test and to identify factors relating to the progress of their readiness to take the test. Methods: We analyzed the data acquired from our 'Cancer Screening Behavior among Korean Adults' Survey' in 2003. 1,057 participants' stages of readiness to take the cancer screening test were classified through the Precaution Adoption Process Model (PAPM). Their knowledge, beliefs and other factors related to cancer screening were examined at each PAPM stage through the Health Belief Model (HBM), and the various PAPM stages were compared with each other to identify factors likely to determine progress between stages. Results: The distribution of the PAPM stages of readiness for cancer screening was as follows: 18.9% were unaware; 9.7% were unengaged; 29.8% were deciding to take the test; 1.5% decided not to take the test; 11.6% decided to take the test, while 28.6% had taken the test. The factors likely to determine progress from one to another stage were 'Knowledge', 'Perceived susceptibility', 'Perceived benefits', 'Perceived barriers' and 'Family member's experience of cancer screening'. Conclusions: This study can be used to develop health promotion programs that enhance cancer screening behavior in Korea.

In the recent field, cybersecuriyt has become one of the critical areas in the information technology field, and demands for cyberseucirty professionals have been increasing tremendously. However, there is In the recent past, cybersecurity has become one of the critical areas in the Information Technology (IT) field, and demands for cybersecurity professionals have been increasing tremendously. However, there is a shortfall in the qualified cybersecurity workforce which is a factor that contributes to the vulnerability of society to various cyber threats. Our study articulates a model to explain career selection behavior in the cybersecurity field. The study explored factors that affect scholars' behavioral intention to pursue a cybersecurity career. Positive outcome expectations from a cybersecurity career as well as high self-efficacy about skills and knowledge about cybersecurity have a strong impact on the scholars' cybersecurity career decisions. Further, perceived usefulness of the cybersecurity curriculum has a positive effect on the scholars' career decisions. The results of this research have implications for retaining a qualified workforce in the computer and information security fields.

Background: Despite workplaces having policies on fire evacuation, many employees still fail to evacuate when there is a fire alarm. The Reasoned Action Approach is designed to reveal the beliefs underlying people's behavioral decisions and thus suggests causal determinants to be addressed with interventions designed to facilitate behavior. This study is a uses a Reasoned Action Approach salient belief elicitation to identify university employees' perceived advantages/disadvantages, approvers/disapprovers, and facilitators/barriers toward them leaving the office building immediately the next time they hear a fire alarm at work. Methods: Employees at a large public United States Midwestern university completed an online cross-sectional survey. A descriptive analysis of the demographic and background variables was completed, and a six-step inductive content analysis of the open-ended responses was conducted to identify beliefs about leaving during a fire alarm. Results: Regarding consequence, participants perceived that immediately leaving during a fire alarm at work had more disadvantages than advantages, such as low risk perception. Regarding referents, supervisors and coworkers were significant approvers with intention to leave immediately. None of the perceived advantages were significant with intention. Participants listed access and risk perception as significant circumstances with the intention to evacuate immediately. Conclusion: Norms and risk perceptions are key determinants that may influence employees to evacuate immediately during a fire alarm at work. Normative-based and attitude-based interventions may prove effective in increasing the fire safety practices of employees.

This study attempted to analyze whether the government's regulatory innovation efforts affect the continued operation of new products and new service-based businesses, such as regulatory compliance and response efforts, despite the perception of regulatory difficulties as business barriers for firms in new industries. Previous studies on the impact of regulations on companies in new industries were a limit to obtaining implications for regulatory issues and characteristics of each field due to the simplification of regulatory indicators and the establishment of field integration. To compensate for this, this study focused on the field of AI and DATA services, and subdivided regulatory issues to indicate practical inconvenience as variables, and model fit and hypothesis verification were performed by applying Structural Equation Model analysis based on the survey results of related companies. As a result, in the field of AI and DATA services, "Perceived regulatory irrationality" and "Perceived government regulatory innovation efforts" significantly affect the "Regulatory environment satisfaction" of the regulated, and "Perceived regulatory irrationality" and "Regulatory environment satisfaction" affect "Regulatory response efforts for companies in new industries to continue their businesses." The significance of this study is that it conducted research on the factors affecting the continuity of business of companies in the AI and DATA service sector by linking the analysis of the impact relationship between satisfaction and continuous use intention, which have been mainly used in the "Policy Acceptance Model" and "IT service sector," to "efforts for companies to continue their business in a new industrial regulatory environment." In addition, by presenting a new empirical model for new industry regulations, it is expected to be meaningful as it can provide a research foundation that can obtain practical implications in related fields.
Since Korean housewives are responsible for the dietary practices of family at home, it is important to know what information will make them to buy safe food. This study was designed to determine the role of perceived threats, behavioral assessments, and self-efficacy factors known to promote healthy behavior in health belief models (HBM) based on food safety awareness and behavior of housewives. This study involved 191 housewives, based on key variables such as perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, and purchase behavior. The results showed that higher levels of education and urbanization increased the threat perception and the likelihood of buying safe food. The correlation analysis showed that increased awareness and knowledge of safe foods and interest in health contributed to higher relative benefit or self-efficiency of food, and thus, ensured food safety. The conceptual model of food safety behavior based on the HBM was verified via structural equation analysis. The findings suggest that a suitable model showcasing knowledge levels and relative benefits resulted in a greater impact on purchasing behavior than perceived threats. This study suggests that it is more effective for housewives to provide more preventive information than risk information to purchase safe food.
This study was done to identify convergence factors influencing the HPV vaccination in female university students. The subjects of this study were 546 female university students. The data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire from 5 to 30th of October, 2013. 138(25.3%) reported that they were vaccinated. Religion, ever heard cervical cancer, HPV and cervical cancer vaccination, ever had a pap test, knowledge about HPV vaccination, health beliefs(total), perceived benefit, perceived barrier, cancer preventive behavior(total) and cervical cancer preventive behavior were associated with being vaccinated. In logistic regression analysis showed that the predictors are ever had a pap test(OR=34.67, 95% CI=17.19~ 69.92), perceived benefit(OR=1.45, 95% CI=1.17~1.81) and perceived barrier(OR=1.44, 95% CI=1.27~1.63). It was recommended to make convergence policy supports and education programs reinforcing a pap test and perceived benefit and reducing perceived barriers about HPV vaccination.
"Standard Precautions" (SP) is important for nursing students as it will lead to the protection of health professionals from infectious diseases and prevention of the wide spread of epidemic illnesses. Therefore, this study investigated factors influencing nursing students' attitudes toward SP. Data were collected from 291 nursing students from May to June, in 2016. According to the results, perceived benefit (4.26) was the highest among sub factors of the health belief model, test score of SP was 78.8%, and attitude score (4 point scale) was 3.63. Perceived sensitivity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, knowledge about SP showed significant correlations with the attitudes towards SP. Among sub-factors of the health beliefs, perceived sensitivity (${\beta}=.152$, p<.05) and perceived barrier (${\beta}=-.125$, p<.05) were found to influence nursing students' attitudes toward SP (F= 5.680, p<.001). Hence, it can be concluded that a convergence education program promoting health belief is needed for improving attitudes toward SP among nursing students.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the therapeutic compliance and its related factors in the rural hypertensives. Method : A questionnaire survey and blood pressure measurement were performed to 3,876 residents of a rural area, and 660 hypertensives were selected as subjects of study. The study employed a hypothetical model which was composed of constructs from the health belief model and KAP model. The analysis techniques employed included contingency table analysis and structural equation modeling. Result : The proportion of those who were compliant to the treatment of hypertension was 44.2% of subjects. As the result of structural equation modeling, when patients had more favorable attitude toward treatment, higher perceived benefit, or lower perceived barriers to treatment, the therapeutic compliance was significantly higher(T>2.0). When patients had more knowledge about hypertension, or higher perceived severity of hypertension, the attitude toward the treatment of hypertension was more favorable significantly(T>2.0). And when patients had the support for treatment from family or neighbor, the attitude toward treatment was more favorable(T>2.0). When patients had experience of health education, they had more knowledge, higher perceived susceptibility of complication, perceived severity for hypertension, and perceived benefit of treatment, compare to patients without health education(T>2.0). Conclusion : In consideration of above findings, in order to improve the therapeutic compliance in the rural hypertensives, it would be necessary to change attitude, perception, knowledge about hypertension and its treatment, by various methods such as effective health education and programs for maintaining the supportive environment for hypertension treatment.
