  • Employers and employees are seriously suffering from perceived organizational politics exhibited in the workplace, and they are searching for remedial ways. The current study was carried out to measure the (i) effects of the employees' perceived organizational politics on their behavioral outcomes, and (b) the remedial role of employees' social astuteness in the relationship of their perceived organizational politics to behavioral outcomes (i.e., work engagement and turnover intention). Seven hundred and twenty-five employees working in Nepalese A graded banks were surveyed to collect the perceptual cross-sectional data. The data were quantitatively analyzed, adopting the deducting reasoning approach. Regression analysis revealed that (i) perceived organizational politics negatively impacted on work engagement and positively impacted on turnover intention, (ii) social astuteness moderated the relationship between perceived organizational politics and employees' behavioral outcome. Moreover, perceived organizational politics' detrimental impact was less severe for employees who possess high social astuteness as compared to those who have less social astuteness. The remedial effect of social astuteness was measured more useful for high organizational politics perceiver than for low perceiver. A number of theoretical and practical implications are suggested to improve the employees' behavioral outcomes from the detrimental impact of perceived corporate politics.

  • While corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been considered an important philanthropic support for nonprofits worldwide, little is known about how perceptions of CSR are associated with actual CSR practices that may benefit nonprofit organizations in different institutional contexts. This study applies stakeholder theory to examine how South Korean firms perceive CSR outcomes, and how these perceptions lead to different CSR practices. We constructed a panel dataset using two waves of the Giving Korea survey of CSR and two additional sources. The results indicate that perceived CSR outcomes may play a critical role in CSR practices: 1) the more financial performance is perceived as an outcome, the more will be donated; 2) the more organizational culture is perceived as an outcome, the greater the engagement in employee volunteering; and 3) the more reputation is perceived as an outcome, the more nonprofit organizations are supported. From the findings, we discuss theoretical implications and provide suggestions for nonprofit organizations.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of nurse experts on the contribution of nursing interventions to Nursing Outcomes Classification NOC nursing outcomes. A nursing outcome is a nursing-sensitive patient outcome primarily affected by nursing interventions. As one of the standardized language systems of nursing outcomes, the NOC must be examined for applicability before it is used in Korea. Data were collected in February and March 2003 using a 5-point Likert scale. For data collection, 230 quality improvement (QI) or quality assurance (QA) nurses from general hospitals in Korea were asked to rate the extent that nursing interventions contribute to each of the NOC nursing outcomes (2000) in their hospitals. Ninety-six nurses from 63 hospitals responded and the response rate was $41.7\%$. Mean scores for perception of contribution of nursing interventions to each of the NOC nursing outcomes ranged from 2.18 to 4.54. Vital Signs Status had the highest score (M = 4.54), and Abuse Recovery: Financial, the lowest score (M = 2.18). Of the seven NOC domains, the mean score was highest for Physiologic Health (M = 3.91) and lowest for Community Health (M = 2.92). Of the 29 NOC classes, the mean score for perceived contribution was highest for Metabolic Regulation (M = 4.32) and lowest for Community Well-Being (M = 2.92). Participants perceived that nursing interventions in general hospitals in Korea contributed, at least to a certain extent, to most of the NOC nursing outcomes. Based on these results, NOC should have relatively good applicability in Korea.

  • Purpose - Due to the Covic-19 pandemic, the perceived value of video conferencing platforms has been increased drastically. However, there is little guidance on how service providers can improve video conferencing platforms. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence the users' perceived value of video conferencing services based on the heuristic-systematic model and the value-based adoption model. Design/Methodology/Approach - In this paper, we theoretically explore the relationship of the antecedents of perceived value(credibility, expertise, attractiveness, economic feasibility, security, and interactivity) and its outcomes (perceived usefulness, perceived risk and perceived value). The outcomes of this research is a conceptualization of antecedents of perceived value supported by research hypothesis based on the existing literature. A total of 100 valid questionnaires were collected to empirically test the research model. Findings - The analysis results showed that credibility, economic feasibility, and interactivity positively influenced perceived usefulness. On the other hand, credibility, professionalism and interactivity negatively influenced perceived risk. Perceived usefulness positively affects perceived value and perceived risk has a negative effect on perceived value. The brand image as a moderating variable was found to decrease the effect of perceived risk on perceived value. Research Implications - The contribution of this study is significant for video conferencing providers as follows. First, a service provider can actively utilize influencers or referees with high credibility and expertise to maximize the perceived usefulness of users. Second, economic feasibility should be ensured in respect of users through various alliance discount strategies. Third, a video conferencing service company needs to build a positive brand image in order to increase users' perceived value.

  • This study analyzed the effect of perceived interactivity in health information websites on users. First, this study analyzed the effect of users' individual characteristics on the perceived interactivity. As a result, hypochondriasis had a negative relationship with perceived interactivity, and health literacy had a positive relationship with it. On the other hand, although the perceived interactivity had a positive effect on users' attitudes toward health information websites and expected outcomes, it did not have an effect on continuous usage intention. However, their attitudes and perceived outcomes had a positive influence on continuous usage intention and at the same time mediated the perceived interactivity. Eventually, the perceived interactivity had an effect on continuous usage intention of health information websites by the medium of other positively related variables.
