조직구성원의 외재적, 내재적 동기와 창의성의 관계: 조건적 보상의 조절효과 (The Interactive Effects of Motivation and Contingent Rewards on Employee Creativity)

  • Purpose - This study examined the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on employee creativity. Past research has consistently shown that intrinsic motivation is positively related to creativity. Yet conflicting results have been reported about the relationship between extrinsic motivation and creativity. To explore the reason why extrinsic motivation can either help or hurt creativity, we examined the role of contingent rewards as a moderator and tested whether either tangible or intangible rewards contingent upon creative performance significantly impact the relationship between extrinsic motivation and creativity. Research design, data, and methodology - Survey data was collected from employees working for diverse organizations in Korea through online research firm. Only employees who reported their job or organization provided opportunities to use their creativity were allowed to continue the survey. Out of 305 initial responses collected, those with too much missing data were deleted, which finally left 278 responses for statistical analyses. To examine the validity of the measurements, confirmatory factor analysis was first conducted. Next, to test the hypothesized relationships, multiple hierarchical regression analyses were conducted. Results - As hypothesized, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation had positive effects on creativity. It was shown that contingent rewards did not influence the positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and creativity, but did significantly moderate the relationship between extrinsic motivation and creativity in a way that tangible rewards strengthened the relationship while intangible rewards mitigated the same relationship. Conclusions - This research enhances our understanding on the relationship between motivation type, rewards, and creativity. Intrinsically motivated employees showed a high level of creativity regardless of whether rewards were expected or not. In contrast, extrinsically motivated employees showed more or less creative behavior depending on whether they were expected to have tangible or intangible rewards. As extrinsic motivation is typically associated with tangible rewards such as pay, promotion, etc., tangible rewards were seen to be more effective in promoting creative performance from extrinsically motivated employees than intangible rewards. Our findings make a significant theoretical contribution to reconcile prior inconsistent findings. Furthermore, they provide useful insights for managers and organizations into developing effective strategies for facilitating employee creativity.

그레이레벨 이미지에서의 엔트로피 코딩 성능 향상을 위한 순위 기법 (A Ranking Method for Improving Performance of Entropy Coding in Gray-Level Images)

  • 본 논문에서는 엔트로피 부호화기를 통해 그레이레벨 이미지에서의 효율적인 압축 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법의 핵심은 원래의 그레이레벨 이미지 정보를 특정 순위 정보로 변환하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저, 그레이레벨 값을 가지는 정보를 부호화하기 전에 이웃하는 주변 픽셀(그레이레벨) 값들에 대해서 상호 발생 빈도수를 계산한다. 그런 후, 이미 계산된 상호 발생 빈도수에 따른 특정 순위를 각 그레이레벨 값에 적용한다. 마지막으로, 엔트로피 부호화기를 통해 순위 정보를 전송하여 압축을 수행한다. 제안하는 기법은, 영상의 통계적 발생 빈도에 따른 정보를 토대로, 그레이레벨 이미지를 순위 영상으로 변환함으로써 기존의 엔트로피 코딩 기법의 성능을 향상시킨다. 시뮬레이션 결과 8비트의 그레이레벨 이미지에 대해서 제안하는 기법이 기존의 엔트로피 부호화기에 비해 최대 37.85%까지 압축 성능을 더 향상시킴을 알 수 있었다.

방한 중국 관광객의 모바일 여행 앱 이용의도에 관한 연구 (The Use Intention of Mobile Travel Apps by Korea-Visiting Chinese Tourists)

  • Purpose - This study focuses on use intention of mobile travel Apps by Chinese tourists visiting Korea based on UTAUT model, ISS model and ITM model. And the corresponding market promotion schemes are proposed for operators of mobile travel Apps by the research results. Research design, data, and methodology - After collecting 326 respondents in China with cross-sectional questionnaires, this study begins the empirical research with users of mobile travel Apps, and analyzes data with IBM SPSS 23.0 and IBM AMOS 23.0. Results - The results of this study include the following aspects: firstly, the System quality and Information quality are accepted for hypotheses of Satisfaction and Performance expectancy. Secondly, the Personal Propensity to Trust and Firm Reputation are accepted for Initial Trust hypothesis, and the hypotheses of Firm Reputation and Initial Trust are accepted for Use Intention. Thirdly, the Performance expectancy, Effort expectancy, Social influence are accepted for Use Intention hypothesis. Conclusions - With the increase of tourists visiting Korea, it can be predicted that the needs visiting Korea will be increased persistently for Chinese - this trend brings about the increase of the Chinese travel. First, information quality greatly influences satisfaction and performance expectancy. The research result shows that, the higher the mobile traveling App's information quality is, the higher the satisfaction and performance expectancy will be. Therefore, operators of mobile traveling App should have in-depth investigations towards users, to know the latter's real demand to the information quality and then provide corresponding services. Second, performance expectancy and effort expectancy greatly influence users' intention. Therefore, mobile traveling App operators should improve Apps' convenience and efficiency and, in doing so, find an effective method for market expansion. Third, social influence greatly affects users' intention. The result shows that mobile traveling App operators should pay attention to the influence of mass media and friends' recommendation on users, thereby it is necessary to improve advertisement activities. Fourth, initial trust also influences users' intention. The result shows that initial trust is a key element inducing users to generate use intention. Therefore, mobile traveling Apps operators should make efforts to catch elements that influence users' initial trust.

  • Motorola which had developed and commercialized wireless telephone and mobile phone for the first time in the world made a decision on the separation of the mobile unit from the Motorola due to the continuous bad performance turn. In addition, the Korean company named Raincom which had developed and commercialized MP3 player have been disappeared since Raincom failed to compete with iPod of Apples. What is the main cause the companies that have been top of the world level weed out of IT product market? For less product life cycle and globalization of market, the company's competitiveness tends to be determined based on company's creative capability, rather than process implementation capability. Thus, companies spent a great amount of time and effort in the introduction of creativity management and R&D activities. However, as company's continuous investment on R&D and innovation activities did not lead to business performance, they starts to pay much attention on the effective R&D and innovation activities. Therefore, this paper tries to solve the limitation of the effectiveness of R&D activities by introducing the concept of 'creative quality'. The creative quality is executed by the creative process, which is designed for getting over the limitation of the traditional brainstorming method. This paper presents the concept so called 'creative quality management' and expects it to be an alternative to conquest the limitation of six sigma management.

Unsupervised Transfer Learning for Plant Anomaly Recognition

  • Disease threatens plant growth and recognizing the type of disease is essential to making a remedy. In recent years, deep learning has witnessed a significant improvement for this task, however, a large volume of labeled images is one of the requirements to get decent performance. But annotated images are difficult and expensive to obtain in the agricultural field. Therefore, designing an efficient and effective strategy is one of the challenges in this area with few labeled data. Transfer learning, assuming taking knowledge from a source domain to a target domain, is borrowed to address this issue and observed comparable results. However, current transfer learning strategies can be regarded as a supervised method as it hypothesizes that there are many labeled images in a source domain. In contrast, unsupervised transfer learning, using only images in a source domain, gives more convenience as collecting images is much easier than annotating. In this paper, we leverage unsupervised transfer learning to perform plant disease recognition, by which we achieve a better performance than supervised transfer learning in many cases. Besides, a vision transformer with a bigger model capacity than convolution is utilized to have a better-pretrained feature space. With the vision transformer-based unsupervised transfer learning, we achieve better results than current works in two datasets. Especially, we obtain 97.3% accuracy with only 30 training images for each class in the Plant Village dataset. We hope that our work can encourage the community to pay attention to vision transformer-based unsupervised transfer learning in the agricultural field when with few labeled images.

공유택시 서비스 플랫폼 개발과 경제적 가치추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Sharing Taxi Service Platform and Economic Value Estimation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 두 가지이다. 첫째, 공유 모빌리티 중 사회적 갈등이 가장 첨예한 공유택시 플랫폼을 개발·실증하는데 있다. 이를 위해 기존 택시 서비스에 대한 소비자의 인식을 중요·만족도분석(IPA)를 활용해 분석하여 플랫폼 개발을 위한 함의를 도출하였다. 중요·만족도분석(IPA)을 통해 분석한 결과 유지관리영역에는 비정상적 영업활동과 안심 서비스가 중점개선영역에는 안전한 승차감과 손쉬운 승차가 도출되었다. 개선대상영역에는 이용 요금 수준과 운전자 정보제공 등 안전성이, 과잉투자영역에는 친절한 응대와 내외부 청결도가 각각 도출되었다. 본 연구의 두 번째 목적은 공유택시 서비스 플랫폼에 대해 이용자들의 부여하는 가치를 조건부가치추정법(CVM)을 활용해 추정하는데 있다. 본 연구를 통해 개발한 공유택시 플랫폼의 실증 서비스의 가치를 추정한 결과 평균 지불용의액(WTP)은 연간 가구당 3,621원으로 나타났으며, 해당 서비스를 김해시 전역으로 확산할 경우 평균 지불용의액이 2,515원/가구당/연간으로 나타났다. 실증서비스에 대한 지불의사에 비해 김해시 전역 확산 사업에 대한 지불의사는 69.5% 수준에 그쳤다. 이는 불특정 다수에 대한 서비스 확산, 공간적 확대에 따른 서비스 질 우려 등이 복합적으로 작용한 결과이다. 지속적인 실증을 통해 데이터를 구축하고, 이를 기반으로 서비스 고도화하여 확산을 위한 로드맵을 꼼꼼하게 구축할 필요가 있음을 시사하는 대목이다.

임금피크제의 효과적 운용방안 (A Study on Effective Operation of Wage Peak System in Korean Enterprises)

  • 한국은 급속도로 고령화시대로 접어들고 있다. 증가하는 고령 근로자들은 연공급 임금체계를 가져가고 있는 한국기업들에게 부담을 주고 있다. 임금피크제는 한국기업들이 임금부담에서 오는 조기퇴직 압박을 완화시키기 위한 대안으로 도입해오고 있다. 현재 한국 기업들이 채택하고 있는 임금피크제는 주로 고용보장형이다. 그러나 앞으로는 고령화 시대에 대비해 고용연장형을 적극적으로 도입해야 할 것이다. 임금피크제를 성공적으로 운영하기위해서는 개인별 임금피크제를 도입하고, 고령근로자를 위한 적절한 업무를 개발해야할 것이다. 그리고 직종별 선별적용, 성과평가를 통한 차등화된 보상, 임금감소에 따른 실질적인 근로시간 단축이 필요할 것이다.

Fast, Accurate Vehicle Detection and Distance Estimation

  • A large number of people suffered from traffic accidents each year, so people pay more attention to traffic safety. However, the traditional methods use laser sensors to calculate the vehicle distance at a very high cost. In this paper, we propose a method based on deep learning to calculate the vehicle distance with a monocular camera. Our method is inexpensive and quite convenient to deploy on the mobile platforms. This paper makes two contributions. First, based on Light-Head RCNN, we propose a new vehicle detection framework called Light-Car Detection which can be used on the mobile platforms. Second, the planar homography of projective geometry is used to calculate the distance between the camera and the vehicles ahead. The results show that our detection system achieves 13FPS detection speed and 60.0% mAP on the Adreno 530 GPU of Samsung Galaxy S7, while only requires 7.1MB of storage space. Compared with the methods existed, the proposed method achieves a better performance.

지역전략산업육성사업과 지역경제성장 파급효과: 충북 사례를 중심으로 (Regional Strategic Industry (RSI) Promotion Projects and Their Impact on Regional Economic Growth: Focused on Chungbuk Province Cases)

  • This study tries to measure the direct and indirect effects of the Regional Strategic Industry (RSI) promotion projects in Chungbuk Province in Korea. In specific, it critically examines whether there exists policy consistency and connectivity between the hardware-oriented Stage I (2002~2007) and the software-centered Stage II (2008~2012) RSI promotion projects. Applying System Dynamics (SD) techniques, this study examines complex system characteristics of RSI promotion projects, all of which have been derived from the causal and stock-flow models and their simulated results. Major findings are as follows: Firstly, 'the continuous investment' is regarded as the most crucial policy leverage for the strategic industry promotion and regional economic growth. Secondly, without exceptions, the RSI promotion projects should switch their evaluation criteria to performance-oriented ones. Thirdly, in selecting their subprojects, the RSI promotion projects should pay due attention to evaluating technology value and marketability. Fourthly, it should put policy priority in strengthening cluster networking and interconnectivity among projects, inevitably supporting a selective number of virtuous network systems. Fifthly, auxiliary projects such as marketing, technology aid, and knowledge-based services should not be overlooked.

위성통신을 위한 웹 프록시 개발 (A Development of Web Proxy for the Satellite Communication)

  • 육지에서 멀리 떨어진 해상의 선박 또는 항공기는 위성통신을 이용하여 웹 서비스를 이용해야 한다. 그러나 위성통신은 많은 비용이 들며 사용자가 만족할 만한 수준의 응답 속도를 제공하지 못하고 있다. 선박의 웹 서비스 사용자들이 인터넷 뉴스의 기사 한편을 볼 때 불필요한 이미지와 광고들로 인하여 많은 양의 데이터를 전송 받게 된다. 따라서 사용자들이 불필요한 데이터 사용 요금을 많이 지불하게 되는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 위성통신을 통한 웹 서비스 사용의 문제점인 비용, 속도의 문제를 해결하기 위해 설계된 프록시 모델을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 프록시는 이미지 차단, 광고 차단, 캐싱, 이미지 재요청 기능으로 위성망을 통한 데이터 전송량을 최대한 줄인다. 개발한 프록시의 성능을 위성통신을 이용한 데이터량 측정을 통해 증명하였다.
