The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference and the use of the bedclothes. The data were obtained from market research of 12 department stores which were located in Seoul, Daegu and Busan, and from questionnaires completed by 356 women in Daegu area whose age was 20 years and older. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes frequency, percentage, $X^2$test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test. Cotton was the most popular fiber for coverings and fillings. Color preference was in the order of pastel, non-chromatic, vivid, and white color and pattern preference was in order of floral, check, and stripe pattern. Practicality, color and fabric were the most important factors and price was the most unsatisfied factor when bedclothes were purchased. Also, information for bedclothes was obtained mainly through internet shopping, home shopping or catalog shopping.
The purpose of this study was to understand the preferences of the uniform design for the preschool student's parents. 97 parents became subjects for the research and questionaries were analysed by distribution of frequency and percentage using SPSS V. 18.0. The results of this study could be summarized as followings. First, most of the parents preferred to wearing preschool uniform and expected further improvement in function, material and design. Second, the preferred form was semi formal style consisting of shirt, knit vest, knit cardigan, and coat. Third, the preferred colors were the mixing together bright colors and quiet colors in vivid and pastel tone. Fourth, functional materials to comfort in children's physical activities and to serve convenience in cleaning were preferred. In Conclusion, the preferred design characteristics were combined function to enhance comfort and convenience in children's physical activities with esthetics to present loveliness and modesty as preschool students.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the men's fashion with the representation of Feminization which has appeared on our specialized fashion magazine from 1990 though 2003. Firstly, the factor which exposed the representation of Feminization in men's fashion were the change of conventional sex role, the change of ideal beauty, the variety of information, the pursuit of personality and the polycentrism of thought. Secondly, the formative characteristics of Feminization in men's fashion represented fitted silhouettes which distinctively show the body line, elastic fabric and see-through fabric of androgynous image, accessory and wave hair which expressed in gentle image. In colors, it represented vivid tone, pastel tone, red colors and yellow colors. Fitted silhouttes and elastic fabric has a effect of minimalism of the last 1990's fashion, and wave hair of gentle image has a effect of change of ideal beauty since 2000. Therefore, elements of representation of Feminization in men's fashion were silhoutte, fabric, color, accessory, hairstyle and the representation of feminity in men's fashion has referance to fashion.

We present a deep CNN-based approach for classifying artistic media from artwork images. We aim to classify most frequently used artistic media including oilpaint brush, watercolor brush, pencil and pastel, etc. For this purpose, we extend VGGNet, one of the most widely used CNN structure, by substituting its last layer with a fully convolutional layer, which reveals class activation map (CAM), the region of classification. We build two artwork image datasets: YMSet that collects more than 4K artwork images for four most frequently used artistic media from various internet websites and WikiSet that collects almost 9K artwork images for ten most frequently used media from WikiArt. We execute a human baseline experiment to compare the classification performance. Through our experiments, we conclude that our classifier is superior in classifying artistic media to human.
This paper analyzes the trend of fashion and make-up in 1990s and their relevancy to each other. Based on the chronological analysis, we propose a new category for the fashion and make-up trend in 1990s, which is 1) traditional ecology period(1990∼1994), 2) versatile trial or decadent period(1995∼1997), and 3) soft landing period based on the minimal neo-ecology and romanticism(1998∼2000). Between 1990 and 1994, there was no differentiation in seasons. It appeared that spring/summer and fall/winter trend have had no big differences. At the beginning in 1990s, it was basically based on ecology concept that emphasizes the natural image. However after 1995, seasonal differences in trend are appeared and there were various make-up designs. The trends of spring/summer in 1996 could be named as color revolution period that emphasized the unique and individual expression of each person. In 1997, black, pastel, and brown colors were the result of reinterpreting the classic and sexy images of 1960s to natural and modernistic image of 1997. Purple color started to be introduced to us. In 1998, pastel tone, pink, and purple color expresses the glamorous look based on the romantic feminism. S/S of 1999 is mainly represented by minimalism and avant garde. For fall/winter trends, brown color lines make-up comes to mix with romantic image and developed into wine, orange, neon colors in 1995 and 1996. These colors were the symbol of property and sentiment. Gold make-up emphasizing the eye area was the tendency of that period. In 1997, the fear of coming end of century was expressed as decadent image. At that time, ethnic and romantic image appeared with vivid color lines, gold, red and violet. In 1998, romanticism was popular again with modernism and ethnic mood. It expressed the romantic elegant image. The trend has returned to the ecology mood again in 1999. This ecology is somewhat different from the previous ecology. It adds a sofistaiced feeling and sportic fashion. To express natural and sportic image, they choose pink blush. In coming 2000 as a new millennium, the yellow color will be main the stream to express vision, dream, and happiness in both fashion and make-up as an accent color. The minimal design and minimal tools will be used for the design and make-up, respectively. In addition, the fusion concept will dominate the fashion and make-up industry in the globalized and boundariless age. Through this paper, we hope that make-up can be accepted as a part of total fashion in its relationship with other elements such as shoes, clothes and accessory and that it can be considered as a independent art that has direct influence on people and industry.
The purpose of this study is to provide for the basic data useful to designing a scientific and systematic merchandising program for infants' wear brands. For this purpose, designer and MD working for 8 local infants' wear brands were surveyed to analyze the conditions of their designing and merchandising of infants' wears. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. Only 3 brands employed MD for their merchandising departments. The average number of clothing designers employed by the subject brands was 3-5, while that of colorists was 1-2, and that of accessory designers was 2-3. On the other hand, the average number of patternmakers employed was about 1, while that of sewer was 4. 2. Many of the sample infants' wear brands tended to collect and analyze the information for merchandising, while most of them relied less on outside planned data. The information source upon which they relied most was 'local and foreign fashion magazine', followed by 'data surveyed by local and foreign department stores' and 'data surveyed for local fabric markets' in their order. Meanwhile, the main color represented 70-90% of the total colors, while the pastel groups accounted for 30-40% and vivid color groups for 40-50%. On the other hand, knit accounted for about 60% of their materials, while woven and sweater accounted for 30% and 10%, respectively. 3. In overall terms, most of brands felt that their brands were preferred as much as or less than their competitive brands, while consumers felt expensive for infants' wears. Namely, most consumers were dissatisfied with the price levels of infants' wears. On the other hand, consumers were found to favor the pastel color groups a little more, while being aware of each brand's sizes more or less precisely. 4. The medium upon which the infants' wear brands depended most for their advertisement was 'magazine', followed by 'radio' and 'catalogue' in their order. Most of them were analyzing the results of their sale turnover monthly or frequently in order to review their sales performances in comparison with their competitors. Most of brands bothered to program a sale strategy 4 times a year, primarily to dispose the stocks or find a breakthrough for their sales activities.
The main focus of this paper is to provide clear understanding about the concept of make-up as total fashion by defining the essential meaning of it. First, we would like to go over the concept of make-up and total fashion, then analyze the make-up image, the changes of colors and images of make-up overtime and fashion that have influenced over those changes. In this paper, we analyze the trend of fashion and make-up in 1990s and their relevancy. Through this paper we hope that make-up can be accepted as a part of total fashion in its relationship with other elements such as shoes, clothes and accessory and that it can be considered as a independent art that has direct influence on people. A new coreopsis cultivar, 'Uridream Pink', was developed by mutation breeding using gamma-ray irradiation. Rooted cuttings of 'Uridream 01', developed at Uriseed Company, were exposed to various gray ranges of gamma-rays from a $^{60}CO$ source for 24 h in 2009 at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. Using gamma-rays with the range of 10-100 Gy, a chimeric mutant with pastel pink flowers was induced at 30 Gy from 'Uridream 01', which blooms red-purple flowers (Red-purple group, 59A). Clones that produced flowers with modified pink color were separated from the chimeric mutant and fixed by more than three rounds of cutting back from 2009 to 2010. The separated mutant clones with modified pink color were found to bloom flowers with marketable color and be free of any abnormal plant characteristics. The typical color of the flowers was pastel pink (Red-purple group, 67B), and the clones were registered as 'Uridream Pink' at the Korea Seed and Variety Service (plant variety protection number: 4410). Although the size of flowers and leaves of 'Uridream Pink' are smaller than those of 'Uridream 01', the number of flowers per plant is greater. 'Uridream Pink' can be used as both a pot and a garden plant because of its long blooming period from late spring to late autumn.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Paspin' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2009. A cross was made between 'Lilabella' and 'Mephisto' with purple and semi-double in 2005. After investigation of the characteristics for five years (from 2005 to 2009), it was selected specially as a cut flower. The 'Paspin' cultivar has a pastel pink flower color (RHS R52B) with green disc center and semi-double flower. It has large-sized flowers which average flower diameter is about 12.8 cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameters are 7.87 cm and 2.57 cm, respectively. It has an adequate peduncle height of 48.6 cm, and a longer vase life of 10.8 days. It is vigorous in growth and also adaptable to the local cultural environments of Korea. It is expected that if the 'Paspin' cultivar will be planted, the royalty fees to be paid to other countries can be saved. And the local growers will also be benefitted since the cost of cultivars will be lower than the imported ones.
