달걀껍질의 재 사용에 의해 제조 된 생체용 Calcium Phosphate 분말의 상변화 거동 및 미세구조 변화에 관한 연구 (Phase Developments and Microstructure Changes of Calcium Phosphate Powders Synthesized by Recycling Eggshell)

  • Calcium phosphate powders were successfully synthesized by using re-cycled eggshell and phosphoric acid. The crystallization behavior and powder morphologies of the synthesized powders were dependent on the starting condition of the eggshell, the mixing ratio and method of the eggshell and phosphoric acid, and calcination temperature. In general, $\beta$-tricalcium phosphate was stably synthesized at about $900^{\circ}C$ for 1h at each proper mixing ratio. And, the synthesized powders showed the similar microstructures to the morphology of original eggshell with uniform particle sizes. In this study, the calcium phosphate powders were synthesized with eggshell in various processing method. And their unique microstructures obtained from the eggshell were also. observed. The crystalline developments and microstructures of the synthesized powders were examined by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscopy.

Fabrication and Characterization of Optically Encoded Porous Silicon Smart Particles

  • Optically encoded porous silicon smart particles were successfully fabricated from the free-standing porous silicon thin films using ultrasono-method. DBR PSi was prepared by an electrochemical etch of heavily doped $p^{{+}{+}}$-type silicon wafer. DBR PSi was prepared by using a periodic pseudo-square wave current. The surface-modified DBR PSi was prepared by either thermal oxidation or thermal hydrosilylation. Free-standing DBR PSi films were generated by lift-off from the silicon wafer substrate using an electropolishing current. Free-standing DBR PSi films were ultrasonicated to create DBR-structured porous smart particles. Optical characteristics of porous smart particles were measured by FT-IR spectroscopy. The surface morphology of porous smart particles was determined by FE-SEM.

Investigation of Tacrolimus Loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carriers for Topical Drug Delivery

  • The objective of this investigation was to develop nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) of tacrolimus by the hot homogenization technique by sonication. NLCs are commonly prepared by emulsification and lyophilization. The feasibility of fabricating tacrolimus-loaded NLCs was successfully demonstrated in this study. The developed NLCs were characterized in terms of their particle size, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency (EE) of tacrolimus, and morphology. Studies were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the NLCs in improving the penetration rate through hairless mouse skin. Tacrolimus-loaded NLCs were found to have an average size of $123.4{\pm}0.3\;nm$, a zeta potential of $-24.3{\pm}6.2\;mV$, and an EE of 50%. In vitro penetration tests revealed that the tacrolimus-loaded NLCs have a penetration rate that is 1.64 times that of the commercial tacrolimus ointment, Protopic$^{(R)}$.

유리결정화에 의한 Ferroxplana Ba2Zn2Fe12O22 미세 단결정의 제조 (Preparation of Fine Single-Crystalline Particles of Ferroxplana, Ba2Zn2Fe12O22 from Crystallization of Glass)

  • As the fundamental research of preparation of fine single crystalline ferroxplana by means of glass-crystallization methods using steel twin-roller the properties of ferroxplana extracted from cyrstallized glass were studied. Most of all the specimens quenched by twin-roller at about 1350$^{\circ}C$ were glass phase, the crystallization of these glass had multi-steps and ferroxplana phase was only stable untill 900$^{\circ}C$, began to be decomposed from about 950$^{\circ}C$ in glass. The morphology of particle could be controlled by the composition and crystallization condition, and Zn2+ was replaced by reduced Fe2+ which is 2∼3% contents of total Fe. Ferroxplana extracted had such magnetic properties as Ms=34 emu/g, mHc=10 Oe and Curie Temperature, Tc=425K.

  • Fine Si-Al-OH coprecipitate powders were prepared from Si- and Al-alkoxides by the hydrolysis method. $\beta$-Sialon powder was obtained from prepared Si-Al-OH coprecipitate by the simultaneous reduction and nitridation method. The syntehsized Sialon powder was pressureless sintered at 175$0^{\circ}C$ for 90 min in N2 atmosphere. The characterization of the Sialon powder was performed with XRD, BET, SEM, TEM and particle size analysis. The sinterability and mechanical properties of sintered bodies were investigated in terms of relative density, M.O.R., fracture toughness, hardness and the morphology of microstructure. The highest values of their mechanical properties were obtained for the $\beta$-Sialon ceramics at Z=1 and those values are as follows : M.O.R., KIC and HV of $\beta$-Sialon ceramics(Z=1) are 499.1 MPa, 5.9MN/m3/2 and 18.7GPa, respectively.

  • Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by polyol process and its particle size observed with TEM is about 20nm. Silver nanoparticle ink with metal content of 30wt% was prepared using solvent of ethanol and has low viscosity of 5cps (10rpm). This ink was printed by as ink-jet printer on Al2O3 and Silicone substrate. The resistivity and morphology of the printed film was investigated as a function of sintering termperature.

용융염법으로 제조된 Ferroxplana 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of Ferroxplana Prepared by Flux Method)

  • In this experiment, flux method was applied for preparing ferroxplana at low temperature, The common salt was used as a flux. The mole ratio of flux to Zn$_2$Y was varied with 0, 6.5, 13, 26 and 52 in dry ball-mixing. Zn$_2$Y was obtained after heat treatment of the mixed powder. Crystallization, particle morphology and magnetic properties of the prepared powder were investigated using XRD, VSM and SEM. The ferroxplana powder of 2-4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ was obtained with the mole ratio 26 by heat treating at the temperature of 110$0^{\circ}C$. The coercivity(H$_{c}$) and saturation magnetization(M$_{s}$) of the ferroxplana were 282Oe and 64.5emu/g, respectively.y.y.

Thermal Conductivity and Mechanical Properties of Magnesium Oxide Reinforced Polyamide-66 Composites

  • Magnesium oxide (MgO) reinforced polyamide-66 (PA66) composites were prepared through melt-compounding method in order to determine the possibility of using MgO particle as conductive filler in the polymer-based composite. The effects of MgO filler content on the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties for the PA66/MgO composites were investigated. The results showed that the addition of MgO filler to the PA66 matrix led to a large increase in thermal conductivity of the PA66/MgO composites. Tensile strengths of the PA66/MgO composites were slightly decreased as MgO filler loading increased. However, flexural strength and flexural modulus were improved with increasing filler loading. Notched Izod impact strengths were dramatically lowered by the addition of MgO filler.

  • To make filler loaded conducting rubber which has the excellent electronical and physical properties, CR and NBR were mixed with magnetite$(Fe_3O_4)$. From the result of the study, vulcanization characteristics shows the upgrading curve as increase in filler concentration and CR has more torque than NBR. When elongation be higher, modulus comes to decreases. Tear strength gradually decrease after showing of the maximum point when is in the 100phr in all. Resilience is not good to cause the increase in filler concentration. In the electrical properties, conductivity becomes smaller when filler concentration is increased. The increase of voltage makes an conductivity grown, but the changed rate is weak. The influence of temperature hardly changes on increasing temperature. The morphology and the distribution for a conductivity filler through SEM were better, the more filler concentration increase, the shorter the particle interval is.

고발광 ${Zn_2}{SiO_4}$:Mn 형광체의 제조 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of High Luminance ${Zn_2}{SiO_4}$:Mn Phosphors)

  • In order to improve luminescence prperty of phosphors, we have synthesized Zn2SiO4:Mn phosphors by a new chemical synthetic route, i.e., the homogeneous precipitation method. This method has featured that the formation of phosphoris completed at relatively low temperature of 105$0^{\circ}C$ and the particle morphology exhibits spherical shape to be well-dispersed and uniform size. At all the Mn concentration explored, phosphors prepared by this method have exhibited the improved emission intensities. In particular, the emission intensities of phosphors with Mn doping contents between 1 at% and 3.5 at% were higher about 40% than that of commercial phosphor. On the other hand, the decay time has been decreased from 23 ms to 11 ms with increasing Mn concentration. In addition, the phosphor composition containing 3 at% Mn has displayed the most saturated color.
