Effect of Shiftwork Nurses' Fatigue on Job Stress and Turnover Intention - Mediating Role of Job Stress - (교대근무 간호사의 피로도가 직무 스트레스와 이직의도에 미치는 영향 -직무 스트레스의 매개효과 검증-)

  • Purpose: This study investigated how shift work nurses' fatigue influences job stress and turnover intention, and how job stress mediates the relationship between fatigue and turnover intention. Methods: As a descriptive research design, the data were collected from 203 shift work nurses in a city. It was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 14.0 and AMOS 5.0. Results: fatigue and job stress in shift work nurses influenced turnover intention. Job stress worked as a partial mediation between fatigue and turnover intention. Conclusion: It is necessary to reduce fatigue and job stress for reducing turnover intention in strategies of hospital manpower.

Mediation Effects of Self-Efficacy between Academic Stress and College Adjustment in First Year Nursing Students (간호 대학 신입생의 학업스트레스와 대학생활적응의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the mediating effects of self-efficacy between academic stress and college adjustment in first year nursing students. Method: Data were collected from 396 first year nursing students from 3 junior colleges and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations and structural equation model (SEM) with PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. Results: There was a negative relationship between academic stress and college adjustment but a positive relationship between self-efficacy and college adjustment. There was a partial mediating effect of self-efficacy between academic stress and college adjustment. Conclusion: The results indicate a need to develop programs that effectively promote the self-efficacy of first year nursing students to decrease academic stress and maximize college adjustment. Further studies are needed in which other factors that could affect college adjustment are examined.

The Relationships among Sport Enjoyment, Leisure Satisfaction and Continuous Participation Intention in Ski Class (스키수업 참여 대학생들의 스포츠 재미와 여가만족 및 지속적 참여의도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the relationships among sport enjoyment, leisure satisfaction, and continuous participation intention in ski class. The study conducted a research survey through purposive sampling method. 280 questionnaires distributed and 271 were selected as final valid sample by removing 9 questionnaires that have insufficient answers. Hypothesis test on collected data was conducted by using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. The results were as followings. First, sport enjoyment factors a significant effect on psychological satisfaction, environmental satisfaction. Second, sport enjoyment factors had effect on re-participation intention, word of mouth intention. Third, leisure satisfaction had effect on re-participation intention, word of mouth intention. In addition, it had effect on continuos participation intention as the partial mediation of the leisure satisfaction.

A study of organizational learning as a corporate competency : focusing on the mediate effect between quality management and business performance (기업역량으로서의 조직학습 - 품질경영활동과 기업성과간의 매개적 역할을 중심으로)

  • This study investigates the relationships of total quality management (TQM), organizational learning (OL) activities and business performance and examines the partial mediation effect of OL activities on business performance in Korean industrial manufacturing setting. Main target sample firms were all manufacturing companies listed in the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) and 206 firms participated. This study theoretically develops a conceptual model with 3 hypotheses regarding how TQM practices influence OL activities and how the OL activities partially mediate between the TQM practices and business performance. To examine these hypotheses, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed and an alternative model which includes a path between errors of leadership factor and OL construct was developed. The findings are TQM practices cannot directly influence business performance but indirectly impact business performance through OL activities. This study found that OL activities playa role as firms' critical competency to improve business performance.

The Effects of Servant Leadership on Organizational Identification and Innovative Behavior (서번트 리더십이 조직동일시와 혁신행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The paper examines how servant leadership and organizational identification contributed to explaining innovative behavior. In order to verify the relationships and mediating effect, data were collected from 298 individuals in employees working in small and medium-sized firms at Jinju, Changwon, Gimhae, Busan City to test theoretical model and its hypotheses. All data collected from the survey were analyzed using with SPSS 18.0. This study reports findings as follows: first, the relationship between the servant leadership and the organizational identification is positively related. Second, there was also a positive correlation between the organizational identification and the innovative behavior. Third, the relationship between the servant leadership and the innovative behavior is positively related. Finally, the organizational identification played as a partial mediator on the relationship between servant leadership and innovative behavior. Based on these findings, the implications and the limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.

The Relationship between Control Mechanism and Commitment in Information Systems Outsourcing : The Mediating effects of Trust (아웃소싱 기업간 통제와 관계 몰입에 있어서 신뢰 매개 역할에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, with increasing interest in the subject of interfirm relationship mechanism, some information systems researchers point out that existing outsourcing theories are limited in explaining the choice of governance mechanisms in interfirm relational exchanges. Recognizing the importance of trust-commitment, this study focuses on the relationship of between control mechanism and commitment. Especially the role of trust as mediator is mainly researched. A mediation model was suggested on the basis of theoretical linkages from prior relevant studies. The research model was empirically tested with 73 IS outsourcing projects. The findings have significant impactions for further research and practice. Findings are as follows: First, outcome control, process control, social control had positive effects on trust and commitment. Second, inter-organizational trust played as a partial mediator on the relationship between control mechanisms and commitment. Based on these findings, the implication and the limitation of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.

Antecedent and Consequences of Management Quality: Focused on Employees of Manufacturing Industries (경영품질의 선행요인과 결과요인: 제조업 종사자를 대상으로)

  • The objective of this study ware to explore the antecedent and consequences of management quality and to examine the mediating effects of the management quality on the relationship between antecedent and consequences. In order to verify the relationships and mediating effect, data were obtained from 328 employees working in firms at Jinju, Masan, Changwon City were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. and AMOS 5.0. The findings are as follows: First, antecedent(psychological ownership) was positively related to management quality. Second, there were also positive relationship between management quality and consequences(employee's attitude). Third, there were also positive relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude(job satisfaction, organizational commitment). Finally, management quality was a partial mediating effect on the relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude. Based on these findings, the theoretical and practical implications and limitations are discussed in conclusion.

  • This study investigates the effect of the relationships among ethical leadership, LMX(leader-member exchange) and job satisfaction, and the mediating effect of LMX on the relationship between ethical leadership and job satisfaction. In order to verify the relationships and the mediating effect, the data obtained from convenient sample of 256 nurses in a city were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. The findings were as follows: First, ethical leadership were positively related to LMX and job satisfaction. Second, LMX was positively related to job satisfaction. Finally, LMX played as a partial mediator on the relationship between ethical leadership and job satisfaction. Based on these findings, the implications and the limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among sport enjoyment, participation satisfaction, and participation adherence intention of water leisure sports participants in Busan. The study conducted a research survey through purposive sampling method after selecting 3 water leisure sports center in Busan. 360 questionnaires distributed and 352 were selected as final valid sample by removing 8 questionnaires that have insufficient answers. Hypothesis test on collected data was conducted by using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 19.0 programs. The results were as followings. First, sport enjoyment had a significant effect on participation satisfaction. Second, sport enjoyment had effect on participation adherence intention. Third, participation satisfaction had effect on participation adherence intention. Fourth, sport enjoyment had directly positive effect on participation adherence intention. In addition, it had effect on participation adherence intention as the partial mediation of the participation satisfaction.
