Circadian rhythm is controlled by hormonal oscillations governing the physiology of all living organisms. In mammals, the main function of the pineal gland is to transform the circadian rhythm generated in the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus into rhythmic signals of circulating melatonin characterized by a largely nocturnal increase that closely reflects the duration of night time. The pineal gland has lost direct photosensitivity, but responds to light via multi-synaptic pathways that include a subset of retinal ganglion cells. Rhythmic control is achieved through a tight coupling between environmental lighting and arylalkylamine-N-acetyltransferase (AANAT) expression, which is the rhythm-controlling enzyme in melatonin synthesis. Previous studies on the nocturnal expression of AANAT protein have described transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and post-translational regulatory mechanisms. Molecular mechanisms for dependent AANAT expression provide novel aspects for melatonin's circadian rhythmicity. Extensive animal research has linked pineal melatonin for the expression of seasonal rhythmicity in many mammalian species to the modulation of circadian rhythms and to sleep regulation. It has value in treating various circadian rhythm disorders, such as jet lag or shift-work sleep disorders. Melatonin, also, in a broad range of effects with a significant regulation influences many of the body's physiological functions. In addition, this hormone is known to influence reproductive, cardiovascular, and immunological regulation as well as psychiatric disorders.

Statement of problem: Many factors influence shade determination in clinical practice and shade matching is highly affected by the viewing conditions. Purpose : This study investigated the differences in shade perception among distinct groups of dental personnel (10 prosthodontists, 10 general practitioners, 10 last-year dental students and 10 dental technicians) Material and method: Four groups of dental personnel were investigated. They were tested to eliminate color blindness. To compare shade selection ability, they were asked to match four test tabs of shades A3, B2, C2 and D4 (VITAPAN$^{(R)}$ Classical shade guide. The identification codes of the shade tabs were masked to prevent shade memory. ) against another full set of VITA$^{(R)}$ PAN$^{(R)}$ Classical shade guide under similar lighting conditions. Shade selections were randomly repeated five times every week and then the repeatability between dental personnel was evaluated. To compare value perception ability, they were asked to arrange randomly selected five test tabs (Bl, A2, D2, C3, A4) in descending order from the brightest to the darkest. To compare hue determination ability, they were asked to divide selected eight test tabs (n, A3, B2, B3, C2, C3, D2, D3) into four groups by manufacturer as follows : Group A-Reddish brown, Group B-Reddish yellow. Group C-Grey. Group D-Reddish grey. Results and conclusion : The obtained results were as follows : 1. For the value perception ability and hue determination ability. there was no significant difference among 4 groups: prosthodontists, general practitioners, dental students, dental technicians (P>.05). 2. For shade selection ability, the prosthodontists and dental technicians were significantly higher than dental students(P<.05). 3. The repeatability of selected shade in the dental technicians was significantly higher than that of general practitioners and dental students(P<.05). 4. The prosthodontists and dental technicians had significantly higher selection ability than dental students for shade B2 (P<.05).
This research estimates the impact of population aging on energy use and carbon emissions by energy sources and by industrial sectors in Korea until 2035. For the estimation, the structural change in household consumption expenditure identified by the age-specific consumption pattern was analyzed in conjunction with energy and environment input-output tables. The estimation result presents that, despite the population aging, energy use and carbon emissions induced by household consumption continue to increase until 2026, and then that elevated levels of energy use and carbon emissions will be maintained for a considerable period of time. According to the estimation by energy sources, the use of natural gas will show substantial increase while the use of crude oil will switch to a downturn at a relatively early period. According to the estimation by industrial sectors, carbon emissions in the sectors with relatively high consumption share of old households such as medical health, dwelling, lighting, heating, air-conditioning, and food will have substantial increase, whereas those in the sectors associated with education, transport, catering, and accommodation services will turn downward relatively early. In addition, the study analyzes through policy simulation the impact of aging-related policy similar to the basic pension system, which is recently being discussed for legislation, on energy use and carbon emissions.
In this essay, Japanese animator Kihachiro Kawamoto's works will be analyzed. Kawamoto made Breaking of Branches is Forbidden in 1968 and was famous for puppet animation as The Demon(1972), Dojoji Temple(1976) and House of Flame(1979) used Japanese traditional elements in his works. The themes are the agony and despair of a human being, and the narrative is developed dramatically. This is possible through a variety of techniques in animation expression. For example of this are the movement of the puppets and the lighting. In the case of Kawamoto's works, above all, it can be said that the dramatic development depends on editing - the relation of each shot to the next shot. Therefore, this analysis will focus especially on the editing of The Demon, Dojoji Temple and House of Flame. Kawamoto's method of editing will be examed and the analysis will confirm that classical continuity edting by controling space and time has been used. Namely that the effect of editing enhances dramatic development of the narrative on Kawamoto's works. This study will also discuss the benefit of using cinematic methods of in animation. Eventhough it is not essential, Kawamoto chooses cinematic method editing. Through their use, he is able to absorb the audience in the traditional Japanese world which ordinarily could be too difficult to understand through puppet animation.

In addition to the diffusion of ICT technology, various protocols of short range wireless communication technology are being applied for efficient information operation. However, due to limitations of short-range wireless communication, communication is not smooth in places where frequency environment is poor, such as frequency confusion and warehouse type factory. When an alternative is needed. The development of LED technology and expansion of infrastructure through LED based visible light communication is attracting attention as an alternative and spreading the usage in wide range now a days. In addition, the infrastructure has been expanded with solar panels in response to the development of smarthome built-in with renewable energy. In this situation, visible light communication using PD has been limitedly applied in a near environment where the receiving angle of the PD and the ambient light ensure the LoS and the influence of the ambient light is small. In order to solve this problem, we have implemented visible light communication using LED lighting with large current infrastructure and solar panel with large receiving area, and proposed a circuit for restoring accurate data even in ambient light. Through this study results, it is expected that visible light communication can be more widely used and this result used as the base data for visible light communication research using the solar panel as the receiver.

In order to detect the skin color area from input images, many prior researches have divided an image into the pixels having a skin color and the other pixels. In a still image or videos, it is very difficult to exactly extract the skin pixels because lighting condition and makeup generate a various variations of skin color. In this thesis, we propose a method that improves its performance using hierarchical merging of 3D skin color model and context informations for the images having various difficulties. We first make 3D color histogram distributions using skin color pixels from many YCbCr color images and then divide the color space into 3 layers including skin color region(Skin), non-skin color region(Non-skin), skin color candidate region (Skinness). When we segment the skin color region from an image, skin color pixel and non-skin color pixels are determined to skin region and non-skin region respectively. If a pixel is belong to Skinness color region, the pixels are divided into skin region or non-skin region according to the context information of its neighbors. Our proposed method can help to efficiently segment the skin color regions from images having many distorted skin colors and similar skin colors.

Recently, there has been increasing demand for power quality in power supply devices. The IEC 61000-3-2 standard requires that the AC / DC power supply for lighting meet the specifications for the power factor (PF) and total waveform distortion (THD). In addition, advanced countries in Europe are regulating the ripple rate as 15 ~ 30% for the flicker phenomenon caused by the change in the amount of foot energy due to the change in current of the output terminal. Therefore, domestic standards and regulations are being updated. This study adopted the Flyback converter to satisfy the PFC standard, and has the circuit first and second insulation function. To reduce the low frequency ripple of the LED current, Flyback, Coupled Inductor, LC parallel resonance filter, LLC resonance filter, and Cuk were simulated by PSIM to mimic each LED driving circuit. A coupled LC resonant circuit with a coupled inductor on the primary side and LC resonance on the secondary side was also proposed for output side ripple reduction.
This study uses the LEAP model that is a long-term energy analysis model to analyze reduction potential on S city residential sector energy usage for greenhouse gas emission. Energy consumption of S-si in 2009 is consumed most in residential and commerce sector by 39.1%. Also, energy and greenhouse gas emission of residential sector is expected to increase due to increase of households. Therefore, greenhouse gas reduction measures are desperately required in residential sector. For this study recognizes energy consumption of S-si residential sector and has established reduction measure of S-si residential sector greenhouse gas through literature search on domestic and foreign climate change correspondence policies. Also, construction of greenhouse gas reduction potential by reduction measures through LEAP model. There were a total of 5 reduction measures scenarios is Reference Scenario, LED Lighting, Energy Alternative, Green Life Practice, and Total Reduction Measure. As a result, greenhouse gas emission of Light Emitting Diode Lightings by 2020 was $1,181.0thousand\;tonCO_2eq$, decrease of 6.1% compared to the Reference Scenario and Greenhouse gas emission of Energy Alternative by 2020 was $1,171.6thousand\;tonCO_2eq$, decrease of 6.8% compared to the Reference Scenario. Greenhouse gas emission of Green Life Practice by 2020 was $1,128.7thousand\;tonCO_2eq$, decrease of 10.2% compared to the Reference Scenario. For Total Reduction Measures by 2020 emission was $966.9thousand\;tonCO_2eq$, decrease 23.1% compared to Reference Scenario.

Temporal and spatial characteristics of the frequency of several weather types and the change in air pollutant concentrations according to these weather types were analyzed over a decade (2007-2016) in seven major cities and a remote area in Korea. This analysis was performed using hourly (or daily) observed data of weather types (e.g., mist, haze, fog, precipitation, dust, and thunder and lighting) and air pollutant criteria ($PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, $O_3$, $NO_2$, CO, and $SO_2$). Overall, the most frequent weather type across all areas during the study period was found to be mist (39%), followed by precipitation (35%), haze (17%), and the other types (${\leq}4%$). In terms of regional frequency distributions, the highest frequency of haze (26%) was in Seoul (especially during winter and May-June), possibly due to the high population and air pollutant emission sources, while that of precipitation (47%) was in Jeju (summer and winter), due to its geographic location with the sea on four sides and a very high mountain. $PM_{10}$ concentrations for dust and haze were significantly higher in three cities (up to $250{\mu}g/m^3$ for dust in Incheon), whereas those for the other four types were relatively lower. The concentrations of $PM_{2.5}$ and its major precursor gases ($NO_2$ and $SO_2$) were higher (up to $69{\mu}g/m^3$, 48 ppb, and 16 ppb, respectively, for haze in Incheon) for haze and/or dust than for the other weather types. On the other hand, there were no distinct differences in the concentrations of $O_3$ and CO for the weather types. The overall results of this study confirm that the frequency of weather types and the related air quality depend on the geographic and environmental characteristics of the target areas.
This study was conducted to identify the state of conservation of the national paper heritages and to seek ways of conservation management, focusing on regular monitoring directly performed by the government on the national movable cultural heritages. Subjects for the investigation were limited to investigations conducted by both the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center and the Artistic Heritage Division in 2014 and 2015. Paper heritages are easily affected by temperature, humidity, lighting, etc. due to the nature of the material and can easily be damaged by physical strength; therefore stable conservation environment is essential and regular investigation on movable cultural heritages conducted according to the Cultural Heritage Protection Act is necessary to protect from contamination, being torn, bending, friction, or loss. Losing a chance for timely proper treatment will bring irrevocable result therefore strict management is necessary; continuous monitoring is also needed after treatment. Analysis on the pigments, materials and structures, detailed investigation, data establishment for conservation of cultural heritages and regular investigation should be done. Detailed data on the national cultural heritages will be a base of more reasonable conservation management system for the national paper heritages and will realize continuous improvement on regular investigation practice.
