Testing and diagnosis of analog circuits(or mixed-signal circuits) continue to be a hard task for test engineers and efficient test methodologies to solve these problems are needed. This paper proposes a novel analog circuits test technique using time slot specification (TSS) based built-in current sensors (BICS). A technique for location of a fault site and separation of fault type based on TSS is also presented. The proposed built-in current sensors and TSS technique has high testability, fault coverage and a capability to diagnose catastrophic faults and parametric faults in analog circuits. In order to reduce time complexity of test point insertion procedure, external output and power nodes are used for test points and the current sensors are implemented in the automatic test equipment(ATE). The digital output of BICS can be easily combined with built-in digital test modules for analog IC test.

This paper investigates the ductility demands of steel frames equipped with self-centring fuses under near-fault earthquake motions considering multiple yielding stages. The study is commenced by verifying a trilinear self-centring hysteretic model accounting for multiple yielding stages of steel frames equipped with self-centring fuses. Then, the seismic response of single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems following the validated trilinear self-centring hysteretic law is examined by a parametric study using a near-fault earthquake ground motion database composed of 200 earthquake records as input excitations. Based on a statistical investigation of more than fifty-two (52) million inelastic spectral analyses, the effect of the post-yield stiffness ratios, energy dissipation coefficient and yielding displacement ratio on the mean ductility demand of the system is examined in detail. The analysis results indicate that the increase of post-yield stiffness ratios, energy dissipation coefficient and yielding displacement ratio reduces the ductility demands of the self-centring oscillators responding in multiple yielding stages. A set of empirical expressions for quantifying the ductility demands of trilinear self-centring hysteretic oscillators are developed using nonlinear regression analysis of the analysis result database. The proposed regression model may offer a practical tool for designers to estimate the ductility demand of a low-to-medium rise self-centring steel frame equipped with self-centring fuses progressing in the ultimate stage under near-fault earthquake motions in design and evaluation.
Presented in this paper is the behaviour of asymmetric building isolated by the double variable frequency pendulum isolator (DVFPI). The DVFPI is an adoption of single variable frequency pendulum isolator (VFPI). The geometry and coefficient of friction of top and bottom sliding surfaces can be unequal. The governing equations of motion of the building-isolation system are derived and solved in incremental form. The analysis duly considers the interaction of frictional forces in the two principal directions developed at each sliding surface of the DVFPI. In order to investigate the behaviour of the base isolation using the DVFPI, the coupled lateral-torsional response is obtained under different parametric variations for a set of six far-fault earthquake ground motions and criterion to optimize its performance is proposed. Further, influences of the initial time period, coefficient of friction and frequency variation factors at the two sliding surfaces are investigated. The numerical results of the extensive parametric study help in understanding the torsional behaviour of the structure isolated with the double sliding surfaces as in the DVFPI. It is found that the performance of the DVFPI can be optimized by designing the top sliding surface initially softer and smoother relative to the bottom one.

This paper analyzes the transients for parameters on electrical distribution system. We analyze the voltage sag and switching surge caused by reclosing and develope a distribution system model of multiground type using a practical data of 22.9(kV) distribution system. It is at customer that we analyze an affecting of reclosing through EMTP (Electromagnetic Transients Program) simulation, present transient phenomena on fault line and parallel line. Also. we analyze the various parameters affecting this phenomena in detail through parametric analysis. These factors include the fault location, load size, load power factor, capacitor bank size, and reclosing angle. And relation between these parameters and transient phenomena is presented.
Cored moment resisting stub column (CMSC) was previously developed by the features of adopting a core segment which remains mostly elastic and reduced column section (RCS) details around the ends to from a stable hysteretic behavior with large post-yield stiffness and considerable ductility. Several full-scale CMSC components with various length proportions of the RCSs with respect to overall lengths have been experimentally investigated through both far-field and near-fault cyclic loadings followed by fatigue tests. Test results verified that the proposed CMSC provided very ductile hysteretic responses with no strength degradation even beyond the occurrence of the local buckling at the side-segments. The effect of RCS lengths on the seismic performance of the CMSC was verified to relate with the levels of the deformation concentration at the member ends, the local buckling behavior and overall ductility. Estimation equations were established to notionally calculate the first-yield and ultimate strengths of the CMSC and validated by the measured responses. A numerical model of the CMSC was developed to accurately capture the hysteretic performance of the specimens, and was adopted to clarify the effect of the surrounding frame and to perform a parametric study to develop the estimation of the elastic stiffness.
Base-isolation is now being adopted as a retrofitting strategy to improve seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete (r.c.) framed structures subjected to far-fault earthquakes. However, the increase in deformability of a base-isolated framed building may lead to amplification in the structural response under the long-duration horizontal pulses of high-magnitude near-fault earthquakes, which can become critical once the strength level of a fire-weakened r.c. superstructure is reduced. The aim of the present work is to investigate the nonlinear seismic response of fire-damaged r.c. framed structures retrofitted by base-isolation. For this purpose, a five-storey r.c. framed building primarily designed (as fixed-base) in compliance with a former Italian seismic code for a medium-risk zone, is to be retrofitted by the insertion of elastomeric bearings to meet the requirements of the current Italian code in a high-risk seismic zone. The nonlinear seismic response of the original (fixed-base) and retrofitted (base-isolated) test structures in a no fire situation are compared with those in the event of fire in the superstructure, where parametric temperature-time curves are defined at the first level, the first two and the upper levels. A lumped plasticity model describes the inelastic behaviour of the fire-damaged r.c. frame members, while a nonlinear force-displacement law is adopted for the elastomeric bearings. The average root-mean-square deviation of the observed spectrum from the target design spectrum together with a suitable intensity measure are chosen to select and scale near- and far-fault earthquakes on the basis of the design hypotheses adopted.

In this study, a 2D finite-element analysis, using the SEEP/W program, was carried out to estimate the amount of groundwater flawing into a tunnel, as well as the groundwater tables around wetland areas during and after a tunnel excavation through rock mass. Four sites along the Wonhyo-tunnel in Cheonseong Mountain (Gyeongnam, Korea) were analysed, where the model damain of the tunnel included both wetland and fault zone. The anisotropy of the hydraulic conductivities of the rock mass was calculated using the DFN model, and then used as an input parameter for the cantinuum model. Parametric study on the influencing factors was perofrmed to minimize uncertainties in the hydraulic properties. Moreover, the volumetric water content and hydraulic conductivity functions were applied ta the model to reflect the ability of a medium ta store and transport water under both saturated and unsaturated conditions. The conductivity of fault zone was assumed ta be $10^{-5}m/sec\;or\;10^{-6}m/sec$ and the conductivity of grouting zone was assumed as 1/10, 1/50 or 1/100 of the conductivity of rock mass. Totally $6{\sim}8$ cases of transient flow simulation were peformed at each site. The hydraulic conductivities of fault zone showed a significant influence on groundwater inflow when the fault zone crossed the tunnel. Also, groundwater table around wetland maintained in case that the hydraulic conductivity of grouting zone was reduced ta be less than 1/50 of the hydraulic conductivity of rock mass.

We propose a new technique to improve the parametric fault coverage of oscillation test method (OTM). The OTM has been popular as a vectorless scheme for analog circuit test, both as a general defect-oriented technique, as well as an oscillation built-in self- test (BIST) scheme. However, it still requires improvement in several aspects. This paper analyzes the limitation of OTM, and proposes new signature analysis scheme to improve its performance.
In this study, the optimal shape parameter condition is presented after analyzing the attributes of the software reliability model according to the change of the shape parameter of Loma life distribution with infinite fault NHPP. In order to analyze the software failure phenomena, the parametric estimation method was applied to the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method, and the nonlinear equation was applied to the bisection method. As a result, it was found that when the attributes according to the change of the shape parameter are compared, the smaller the shape parameter is, the better the prediction ability of the true value, and reliability attributes are efficient. Through this study, it is expected that software developers can increase reliability by preliminarily grasping the type of software failure based on shape parameter, and can be used as basic information to improve the software reliability attributes.
Recently, great efforts are concentrated on the autonomous, adaptive protection schemes with advanced artificial intelligence and digital technology. It is highly required for a next generation protective system not only to detect and to clear a fault, but also to fit itself to the changing environment. In this paper it is suggested an evaluation method for the protection ability of a protective system in a distributed system. The suggested method is of bottom-up scheme, in other words, protection ability is estimated from the lowest level of parameters in each protective devices to the highest level of the whole protective system. This feature makes it possible to evaluate the protection ability either for the protective device(or a system), or for a protected system. And, in addition, it is enabled that the protectability concept can be applied in the design stage of a protective system for a distribution network. The proposed method is applied to a simple distributed network to show its effectiveness.
