  • In this paper, we provide an approach of controller synthesis for input-saturated linear systems by a linear parameter varying (LPV) framework. Using directly the saturation nonlinearity as scheduling parameters, we propose an LPV-stabilizer with parameter-dependent dynamic state-feedback controller concept. Especially, the synthesis conditions are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) that can be solved very efficiency.

  • In this paper a robust stabilization problem is discussed for plant with both time-varying parameter perturbations and unstructured uncertainty. It is shown that, a robust L$_{2}$-stabilizing controller can be obtained by solving an H$_{\infty}$ standard problem with a scaling parameter. Using an H$_{\infty}$ design method, a robust L$_{2}$-stabilizing controller is derived. Finally, a numerical example is given.n.

  • In this paper, we present a robust H\ulcorner control design method for parameter uncertain systems that have delay in both state and control input. Through a certain algebraic Riccati inequality approach, a state feedback controller is obtained. The proposed state feedback controller stabilizes parameter uncertain delay systems and guarantees disturbance attenuation within a prescribed level. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the results of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we consider the design problem of delay-dependent robust $H{\infty}$ controller of discrete-time descriptor systems with parameter uncertainties and interval time-varying delays in state and control input by delay-dependent LMI (linear matrix inequality) technique. A new delay-dependent bounded real lemma for discrete-time descriptor systems with time-varying delays is derived. The condition for the existence of robust $H{\infty}$ controller and the robust $H{\infty}$ state feedback control law are proposed by LMI approach. A numerical example is demonstrated to show the validity of the design method.

  • This paper suggests an auto-tuning I'll) control algorithm that uses the advantage of PID controller and improves the system performance. The PID gains being designed by th- conventional method are tuned through the plant parameter estimation. The Extended Kalman Filter is used for the estimation. It works as an observer and noise filter. Moreover, as the plant state and the uncertain parameter could be estimated simultaneously, the proposed algorithm is very useful in the tracking control of a system with uncertain parameter. The auto-tuning I'll) controller could maintain the system performance in the case that the plant parameters are uncertain or varying. The proposed control algorithm requires a correct estimation of the plant parameter. The controller stability and the performance is considered through the stability criteria and a servo motor model. The Kalman filter estimates the most sensitive plant parameter, which is determined by the sensitivity analysis.

  • TDC(Time Delay Control) deals with the time-varying system parameters, unknown dynamics and unexpected disturbances using time delay. TDC can be divided into two separate parts: an auxiliary controller and a servo controller. The two controllers can be designed independently. The auxiliary controller is used to reduce sensitivity to parameter variations, nonlinear effects, and other disturbances. The servo controller is to reduce the error between the desired command and output. We propose the model-following time delay controller with modified error feedback controller. This was applied to follow the desired reference model for the uncertain time-varying overhead crane. The model generates the damped-out swinging motion trajectory to suppress the swinging motion caused by the acceleration and the deceleration of crane transportation. The control performance was evaluated through simulations. The theoretical results indicate that this control method shows excellent performance to an overhead crane with the uncertain time-varying parameters.

  • Brushless DC(BLDC) motor have been increasingly used in machine tools and robotics applications due to the reliability and the efficiency. In control of BLDC motor, it is important to construct the controller which is robust to parameter variations and external disturbances. Variable structure controller(VSC) has been known as a powerful tool in robust control of time varying systems. In practical systems, however, VSC has a high frequency chattering which deteriorates system performances. In this paper, a binary controller(BC) which takes the form of VSC and MRAC combined is presented to solve this problem. BC consists of the primary loop controller and the external loop controller to change the gain of primary loop controller smoothly. So it can generate the continuous control input and is insensitive to parameter variations in the given domain. To confirm the validity, various investigations of control characteristics for various design parameters in a position control system of BLDC motor are carried out. • This paper describes the synthesis of robust and non-fragile $H^{i~}$state feedback controllers for linear varying systems with time delay and affine parameter uncertainties, as well as static state feedback controller with structural uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of robust and non-fragile $H^{i~}$static state feedback controller, and the region of controllers satisfying non-fragility are presented. Also, using some change of variables and Schur complements, the obtained conditions can be rewritten as parameterized Linear Matrix Inequalities (PLMIs), that is, LMIs whose coefficients are functions of a parameter confined to a compact set. We show that the resulting controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop system in spite of time delay and controller gain variations within a resulted polytopic region.

  • A proposed hybrid self-tuning control scheme for single rod hydraulic cylinder which has varying loads is presented here. An adaptive controller is developed for the system that use feedforward and P feedback control for simultaneous parameter identification and tracking control. Through experimental results, the performance comparison of the hybrid self-tuning controller with a constant gain P contro- ller clearly shows its superior ability in handling load changes in quiescent states.

  • This paper investigates the problem of linear parameter-dependent output feedback controllers design for interconnected linear parameter-varying(LPV) plant. By using a parameter-independent common Lyapunov function, sucient conditions for solving the problems are established, which allow us to design linear parameter dependent decentralized controllers in terms of scaled H-infinite control problems for related linear systems without interconnections. The solvability conditions are expressed in terms of finite-dimensional linear matrix inequalities(LMI´s) evaluated at the extreme points of the admissible parameter set.
