Noun phrase coordination is an extremely productive phenomenon. Based on an observation that conjuncts tend to denote semantically related concepts, we collect four hundred thousand pairs of conjuncts from the British National Corpus, in an attempt to build an is-a hierarchy of English noun concepts. The modifiedness patterns of the two words in these pairs point to three distinct semantic relations: sibling, cousin, and ancestor-or-ancestor' sibling. The process of finding them and how these pairs are used to motivate groups of quasi-synonyms and then to locate the hypernyms are discussed.

In this paper we study recollements of abelian categories and balanced pairs. The main results are: recollements induce new balanced pairs from the middle category; the resolution dimensions are bounded under certain conditions. As an application, the resolution dimensions with respect to cotilting objects of abelian categories involved in recollements are recovered.

A content-based image retrieval system is designed and implemetned using the color featurees which are histogram intersection and color pairs. The preprocessor for the image retrieval manage linearly the existing HSI(hue, saturation, saturation, intensity). Hue and intensity histogram thresholding for each color attribute is performed to split the chromatic and achromatic regions respectively. Grouping te indexes produced by the histogram intersection is used to save the retrieval times. Each image is divided into the cells of 32$\times$32 pixels, and color pairs are used to represent the query during retrievals. The recall/precision of histogram intersection is 0.621/0.663 and recall/precision of color pairs is 0.438/0.536. And recall/precision of proposed method is 0.765/0.775/. It is shown that the proposed method using histogram intersection and color pairs improves the retrieval rates.

This paper aims to implement "structural changes detection procedure" in pairs trading algorithm and to show that the proposed approach outperforms the extant pair trading algorithm. Structural changes in pairs trading are defined in terms of changes in cointegrating factors and broken cointegration relationship. These changes are designed to test extant structural changes and unit root test methodologies. The simulation finds that expanding the changes in structure, increasing the mean reverting process of spread, and extending the consecutive days of broken cointegration will increase the performances of the proposed algorithm. Empirical study results are also consistent those of the simulation studies. The proposed algorithm outperforms the extant algorithm relative to risk and return given that the cumulative profit/loss has a significant upward-slope with minimal variance.

The Results of colchicine and pretreatment time have shown that the cells of Coho Salmon(Oncorhynchus Kisutch) were effectively injected 6 hours prior to the harvest at a final concentration of 10$\mu\textrm{g}$/g body weight. The cell-density from 8,000 cells/㎣ (=8${\times}$106 ml) was found as ideal. The best effect of hypotonic solution in proportion to the cell is 20 : 1 and 50 minutes. The model number of diploid chromosome in this species was 2n=60. The karyotype analysis proved that the diploid complement consisted of 19 pairs of metacentric-, 4 pairs of submetacentric- and 7 paris of acrocentric-chromosomes. The diagrammatic representation proved that the diploid complement consisted of 7 pairs of metacentric-, 2 pairs of submetacentric- and 1 pair of acrocentric-chromosomes.

In this article, we study the deformation theory of locally free sheaves and Hitchin pairs over a nodal curve. As a special case, the infinitesimal deformation of these objects gives the tangent space of the corresponding moduli spaces, which can be used to calculate the dimension of the corresponding moduli space. The deformation theory of locally free sheaves and Hitchin pairs over a nodal curve can be interpreted as the deformation theory of generalized parabolic bundles and generalized parabolic Hitchin pairs over the normalization of the nodal curve, respectively. This interpretation is given by the correspondence between locally free sheaves over a nodal curve and generalized parabolic bundles over its normalization.

In order to analyze chromosome numbers and karyotypes of intestinal trematodes belonging to the genus, Metagonimus, the gonad tissues of M. takahashii, M. miyatai, and M. yokogawai were prepared and examined. The number of bivalents in the first meiotic division of M. takahashii was nine (n＝9). The diploid number of M. miyatai was observed to be eighteen (2n＝18) and their chromosomes consisted of one pair of metacentric, 7 pairs of submetacentric, and one pair of telocentric chromosomes. The diploid number of M. yokogawai was thirty-two (2n＝32) and the chromosome complements were composed of two pairs of metacentric, 11 pairs of submetacentric, and three pairs of subtelocentric chromosomes. These results could be a supporting evidence for the validity of the new species, M. miyatai, distinct from M. yokogawai.

The karyotypes of Biomphalaria tenagophila collected from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil were studied using the air-drying method. Somatic cells of this species had 2n=36. The 18 chromosome pairs were identified and classified into 3 groups. The diploid cell has 7 pairs of metacentric, 8 pairs of submetacentric, and 3 pairs of subtelocentric chromosomes. Observed chromosomes ranged from 2.4 to $6.4{\mu}m$, and the total length was $122.3{\mu}m$. This is the first report on the chromosome of B. tenagophila.

This paper presents a new Boolean extraction technique for logic synthesis. This method extracts kernel-kernel pairs as well as cokernel-kernel pairs. The given logic expressions can be translated into Boolean divisors and quotients with kernel-kernel pairs. Next, kernel intersection method provides the common sub-expressions for several logic expressions. Experimental results show the improvement in literal count over previous other extraction methods.

It is necessary to analyze exactly the torque ripple components in the harmonics as to decrease the torque ripple. Lower harmonics influence mainly on torque ripple. Among the harmonics, the pairs of 5's, 7's and 11's, 13's are dominant, and the magnitude of each pairs of current harmonics are very significant. Therefore, for decreasing the torque ripple, current harmonic pairs of 6n ${\pm}$1's orders must be simultaneously eliminated. In the case of eliminating one of current harmonic pairs, even though the magnitude of the current harmonics is small, It has great effect on torque ripple.
