MPEG-I is actively working on standardization on the coding of immersive video which provides up to 6 degree of freedom (6DoF) in terms of viewpoint. 3DoF+ video, which provides motion parallax to omnidirectional view of 360 video, renders a view at any desired viewpoint using multiple view videos acquisitioned in a limited 3D space covered with upper body motion at a fixed position. The MPEG-I visual group is developing a test model called TMIV (Test Model for Immersive Video) in the process of development of the standard for 3DoF+ video coding. In the TMIV, the redundancy between a set of input view videos is removed, and several atlases are generated by packing patches including the remaining texture and depth regions into frames as compact as possible, and coded. This paper presents an atlas generation method that removes small-sized blocks in the atlas for more efficient 3DoF+ video coding. The proposed method shows a performance improvement of BD-rate bit savings of 0.7% and 1.4%, respectively, in natural and graphic sequences compared to TMIV.

We studied the anisotropic shrinkage and deformation characteristics of large size sintered bodies in the manufacturing of glass-ceramic composite wasteform. We used uranium-bearing waste, generated from the treatment of spent uranium catalyst. Sintered specimens were prepared in several forms, comprising a circular disk, and a quarter disk in several diameters of up to 40 cm. Regardless of form or size, the sintered bodies had high isotropic shrinkage when they were fabricated using green bodies prepared at 60 MPa. The average anisotropy rate and average shrinkage rate were 1.6%, and 37.4%, respectively. We confirmed that the glass-ceramic composite wasteform in a large scale disk-type for packing in a 200 L drum could be fabricated with a tolerable anisotropy shrinkage. This has resulted in a significant reduction in the volume of radioactive waste to be disposed of with highly stable wasteform.
We studied the effects of dip treatments of natural extracts (Camellia sinensis, Angelica gigas, Astragalus membranaceus, Glycyrrhiza uralensis: 1% extract) on the quality of peeled 'Daebo' chestnut. After dipping treatment peeled chestnuts were vacuum packaged with $75{\mu}m$ PE+Nylon 7-layer film then stored in $4^{\circ}C$ incubator for 35days. The quality changes including the surface color and off-odor were evaluated for storage days. The natural extracts dipping treatment on peeled chestnut was effective on skin browning inhibition. Especially, Astragalus membranaceus and Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract treatments was significantly effective in reducing surface browning. The color change (${\Delta}E$) of peeled chestnut was the highest (5.6) in control, whereas that was the lowest (3.4) under Astragalus membranaceus extract treatment at 35 storage day. The natural exteacts treatments had no effect on the weight, the mositure loss rate, the firmness and the soluble solid contencts of peeled chestnuts during storage after treatment. The decaying rate of peeled chestnut was 9.0% in control, 9.0% in Camellia sinensis extract treatment, 9.0% in Angelica gigas extract treatment, 21.0% in Astragalus membranaceus extract treatment, and 7.0% Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract treatment at 35 storage day. Sensory evaluation revealed significant differences in off-odor and color attributes. After all, the score of overall sensory evaluation was the lowest in Astragalus membranaceus extract treatment and the highest in Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract treatment. As the results, the natural extract treatments, especially with vacuum packing after Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract treatment, extended the shelf-life of the peeled chestnut by inhibiting the surface browning.

This study was conducted to investigate survival of Bacillus cereus (B. cereus) on stainless steel and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its transfer from two material to lettuce. The stainless steel and PVC were innoculated with B. cereus and stored at 6 combination conditions (temperature : $20^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$, relative humidity (RH) : 43%, 69%, and 100%). Although the total numbers of B. cereus at RH 43% and RH 69% were reduced by 3.53-4.00 log CFU/coupon within 24 h regardless of material type, the spore numbers of B. cereus was lasted at 3.0 log CFU/coupon. When two materials were stored at $30^{\circ}C$, RH 100%, the spore numbers of B. cereus was rapidly increased by 3.0 log CFU/coupon. In addition, the reduction rate of B. cereus was decreased in the presence of organic matter. Transfer rate of B. cereus from surface of stainless steel and PVC to lettuce was increased by 10 times in the presence of water on the lettuce surface. As a result of this study, the presence of B. cereus on produce contact surfaces can increase the risk of cross-contamination. Thus, it is important that the packing table and conveyer belt in post harvest facility should be properly washed and sanitized after working to prevent cross-contamination.

The cure and rheological behavior of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol F/nadic methyl anhydride resin system with the kinds of imidazole were studied using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and a rotational rheometer. The isothermal traces were employed to analyze cure reaction. The DGEBF/ anhydride conversion profiles showed autocatalyzed reaction characterized by maximum conversion rate at $20{\sim}40 %$ of the reaction. The rate constants ($k_1,\;k_2$) showed temperature dependance, but reaction order did not. The reaction order (m+n) was calculated to be close to 3. There are two reaction mechanisms with the kinds oi catalyst. The gel time was determined by using G'-G" crossover method, and the activation energy was obtained from this results. From measurement of rheological properties it was found that the logarithmic 1:elation time of fused silica filled DBEBF epoxy compounds linearly increased with the content of filler and decreased with temperature. The highly filled epoxy compounds showed typical pseudoplastic behavior, and the viscosity of those decreased with increasing maximum packing ratio.
Quality changes of lettuce were studied during storage to investigate the efficiency, cooling properties and the washing and storage effects of immersion-type hydrocooling. As a result of plotting the nondimensionalized lettuce temperature versus cooling time, its cooling rate coefficient was shown to be $-0.365\;min^{-1}{\sim}-0.255\;min^{-1}\;(R^2=0.99{\sim}0.88)$. Rate of weight loss was not significantly (p>0.05) different between lettuces with various treatment conditions during storage at $5^{\circ}C$. However, during storage at $15^{\circ}C$, weight loss of hydrocooled lettuce was lower than that of non-treated lettuce after from 10 to 15 days. Especially, The lettuce packed with PE was more effective than that packed with try in terms of packing condition after hydrocooling. Lettuce pretreated with sterilizing agent, packed with PE vinyl film, removed residual water after hydrocooling had lower decaying rate than any other lettuces. Changes of L and b values in hydrocooled lettuce were slower than those of non-treated one. During changes of chlorophyll content, the initial value, $115.7{\sim}147.3\;mg%$ was decreased to $50{\sim}60%$ after 25 days of storage at $5^{\circ}C$ and within 15 days of storage at $15^{\circ}C$. It could be presumed that the addition of sterilizing agent reduced the initial level of overall total and coliform count and its growth rate during storage. The respiration rate of hydrocooled lettuce at $5^{\circ}C$ was $23.95\;mg{\cdot}CO_2/kg\;hr$, which is 10% of those of non-treated lettuce.
120 samples of ready-to-eat salad product were purchased at department stores, marts and family restaurants in metro area. Coliform bacteria and food borne pathogenic bacteria were isolated from these samples. In 73 samples among the 120 salad product samples, coliform bacteria and food borne pathogenic bacteria were detected by 60.8% of isolated rate. Salad were classified into organic and non-organic salad. According to a salad type, salad were classified into vegetable salad and mixed vegetable salad with fried chicken and extra food. According to a packing type, packed salad product and salad-bar product were classified. After the classification, the results of each cases were compared. There is no statistical relation between cultivation or packing methods and contaminated bacteria. But the incidence number of microbial strains was significantly different between vegetable salad and mixed vegetable salad(p<0.005). In vegetable salad, more various strains were detected. E. coli was isolated in 10 cases among the 90 cases in non-organic vegetable and in 7 cases among the 30 cases in organic salad. Food borne pathogenic bacteria were isolated in non-organic vegetable salad product. Staphylococcus aureus was isolated in 4 cases of vegetable salad product and Salmonella spp. isolated in 1 case. After 5 times examination of each 4 market products, the total number of aerobic bacteria was average 4.8$\pm$0.19 log cfu/g. One sample from this product, saline and a detergent for vegetable were used for 3 minutes to notice the effect. As a result, when saline was used 5 times and detergent for vegetable was used 1 time, bacterial contamination was decreased up to 95.5%.

These studies were identified the effect of four types of non-perforated breathable (NPB) packing film and three sizes on storage ability of fresh-cut for ready to eat packaging at $5^{\circ}C$ for 25 days and $10^{\circ}C$ for 15 days storage in Salicornia herbacea. The fresh weight loss was less than 2% in every films at $5^{\circ}C$ condition after 25 days storage, and the $10^{\circ}C$ also had same result on 15 days storage except 100,000 cc NPB film. Compare with storage after 15 days, storage condition at $5^{\circ}C$ had shown better result under the 1% fresh weight loss rate. The 5,000 cc and $5^{\circ}C$ condition had been shown the characteristics of MA packaging in carbon dioxide and oxygen concentrations. The ethylene concentration in vacuum film was higher 10 to 100 times than in NPB film treatments during storage. But ethylene concentration was not statistically significant differences among size treatments. Every conditions had been measured the anti-oxidant activity by DPPH method after storage at $5^{\circ}C$ for 25 days and $10^{\circ}C$ for 15 days. S. herbacea at $5^{\circ}C$ had been more than twice of activity compare with that at $10^{\circ}C$. 100,000 cc NPB film had been higher contents of anti-oxidant activity at $5^{\circ}C$ and $10^{\circ}C$. As the fresh-cut sizes, 3 cm and 5 cm sizes had changed depending on film types but 10 cm were not effected by the film types in the DPPH activity. When panel test had been tried to measure the visual quality and off-flavor after storage, $5^{\circ}C$ with a filme of 5,000 cc treatment had established higher value than other treated conditions. As these results, it's may be suggested that the $5^{\circ}C$ with 5,000 cc non-perforated breathable film for MA storage in Salicornia herbacea at fresh cut distribution system. Fresh cut size 10 cm with 100,000 cc NPB film also had the good quality for 15 dyas storage at $10^{\circ}C$, and this result can be applied for short term distribution system in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of newly developed Large Pore Micro-Filtration (LPMF) membrane in Lab size for the application of water treatment, and to find its problems with solutions. The out-to-inside filtration hollow fiber LPMF membrane of which average pore size was $5{\mu}m$ was used at this study and its material was the PET braid reinforced PVDF. Filtration tests were done through gravity with 30 cm water head difference or pressure below 1.5 bar, and the backwash was done instantaneously with the filtrate after pressurizing it to about 4 bar. The water flux of the LPMF membrane with 0.2 bar TMP (Trans Membrane Pressure) was 2 times higher than $0.4{\mu}m$ MF membrane with $0.05{\mu}m$ UF filtrate of the tap water and it was measured also with 20~30 cm water head difference which showed over 800 LMH at 30 cm water head difference. And Time-To-Filter (TTF) was performed by using $5{\mu}m$ filter paper to optimize coagulants and dosage which enhanced filtrate's turbidity and stabilized filtration flux. When the LPMF was operated with 30 cm gravity with very high dose of inorganic coagulants, the flux was maintained over 80 LMH with 93.5~99.5% turbidity removal. Especially, the filtration was maintained stably in the flux and about 97% of the recovery rate by instantaneous pressurized backwash with about 4 bar of the filtrate when the packing density was about 19%. But there was instability in filtration, since the TMP was continuously going up by inefficient backwash when the packing density was 43%.
The effects of deposition temperature on chemical vapor deposited silicon carbide (CVD-SiC) were studied to obtain high deposition rates and excellent bending strength characteristics. Silicon carbide prepared at $1250{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$ using methyltrichlorosilane(MTS : $CH_3SiCl_3$) by hot-wall CVD showed deposition rates of $95.7{\sim}117.2{\mu}m/hr$. The rate-limiting reaction showed the surface reaction at less than $1300^{\circ}C$, and the mass transfer dominant region at higher temperature. The activation energies calculated by Arrhenius plot were 11.26 kcal/mole and 4.47 kcal/mole, respectively. The surface morphology by the deposition temperature changed from $1250^{\circ}C$ pebble to $1300^{\circ}C$ facet structure and multi-facet structure at above $1350^{\circ}C$. The cross sectional microstructures were columnar at below $1300^{\circ}C$ and isometric at above $1350^{\circ}C$. The crystal phases were all identified as ${\beta}$-SiC, but (220) peak was observed from $1300^{\circ}C$ or higher at $1250^{\circ}C$ (111) and completely changed to (220) at $1400^{\circ}C$. The bending strength showed the maximum value at $1350^{\circ}C$ as densification increased at high temperatures and the microstructure changed from columnar to isometric. On the other hand, at $1400^{\circ}C$, the increasing of grain size and the direction of crystal growth were completely changed from (111) to (220), which is the closest packing face, so the bending strength value seems to have decreased.
