A Study on Advertisement Design of Men's Fashion Products (남성패션제품 광고디자인에 대한 연구)

  • The present study analyzed the differences of advertisement design, expression method, and appeal types in the men's fashion product advertisement from men's magazines between 1996 and 2006, according to the year, season, and the type of the magazine. The magazines chosen for the analysis were Korean Esquire, GQ, and Shin-dong-a. 2058 advertisement out of 88 sample magazines were chosen and analyzed by frequency, and chi-square using SPSS statistic package. The results of the study were as follows. First of all, there were more advertisements without copy, and even when the copy was used, it was used as a headline only. Secondly the poster style layout was used more frequently than other layouts, and one male model wearing the product was the most popular. Thirdly the types of appeal in advertisement, sensuous appeal was most frequently used. The results of the study showed that there is little advertisement differentiation in men's fashion product advertisement. Therefore in order to draw consumer's attention. various and unique advertisement design should be implemented.

Parasitic Inductance Reduction Design Method of Vertical Lattice Loop Structure for Stable Driving of GaN HEMT (GaN HEMT의 안정적 구동을 위한 수직 격자 루프 구조의 기생 인덕턴스 저감 설계 기법)

  • This paper presents a parasitic inductance reduction design method for the stable driving of GaN HEMT. To reduce the parasitic inductance, we propose a vertical lattice loop structure with multiple loops that is not affected by the GaN HEMT package. The proposed vertical lattice loop structure selects the reference loop and designs the same loop as the reference loop by layering. The design reverses the current direction of adjacent current paths, increasing magnetic flux cancellation to reduce parasitic inductance. In this study, we validate the effectiveness of the parasitic inductance reduction method of the proposed vertical lattice loop structure.

  • Packaging has played important function on marketing as a silent salesman. As an interface of consumer and products, packaging fulfills several functions such as protection, sales promotion, communication and convenience during the distribution process. For the appearance of self-service sales method, packaging could be regarded as important salesman influencing consumers' preference on shelf in the shop. In this study, Vitamin water was selected as the proper target product for lower impact of prices and brands. With previous studies, Vitamin water packaging elements were classified as 'packaging material', 'packaging shape', 'label color', 'logo layout', then each packaging element was consist of details. To measure the influence of each packaging element on consumers' preference quantitatively and to minimize respondent's subjective judgment, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used as a tool. Through AHP result, packaging element of the most influence on consumers' preference is 'label color (0.370)', and 'container shape (0.246)', 'container material (0.230)', 'logo layout (0.154)' was in order. Among the detail packaging element, 'plastic (0.405)' has the greatest influence in 'container material' and 'cylinder (0.423)' in 'container shape', 'magenta (0.329)' in 'label color', 'vertical layout (0.572)' in 'logo layout'.

Novel Extraction Method for Unknown Chip PDN Using De-Embedding Technique (De-Embedding 기술을 이용한 IC 내부의 전원분배망 추출에 관한 연구)

  • GDS format files, as well as layout of the chip are noticeably needed so as to analyze the PDN (Power Delivery Network) inside of IC; however, commercial IC in the market has not supported design information which is layout of IC. Within this, in terms of IC having on-chip PDN, characteristic of inside PDN of the chip is a core parameter to predict generated noise from power/ground planes. Consequently, there is a need to scrutinize extraction method for unknown PDN of the chip in this paper. To extract PDN of the chip without IC circuit information, the de-embedding test vehicle is fabricated based on IEC62014-3. Further more, the extracted inside PDN of chip from de-embedding technique adopts the Co-simulation model which composes PCB, QFN (Quad-FlatNo-leads) Package, and Chip for the PDN, applied Co-simulation model well corresponds with impedance from measured S-parameters up to 4 GHz at common measured and simulated points.

  • This study compares the visual elements of the top five global beer brands currently in the Chinese market with those of the top five Chinese beer brands. The purpose of the research is to identify the importance of visual elements in the label design of beer package and to present the direction of efficient label design. To this end, it is a brand among visual elements of beer label design, and it investigates the label design of Chinese beer and global beer brand through the multi-accelerated comparative analysis method, focusing on color, illustration and layout, and analyzes the difference of elements appearing in the global beer label design from China by utilizing the recursive five-point scale. According to the research, the visual elements used in the Chinese beer brand were more complex compared to the global beer brand, and most layouts were similar, making the product less differentiated. On the other hand, the global beer brand has secured brand identity and differentiation based on its iconic visual elements and diversity of layout. In order to establish itself as a strong brand in consumers' minds, the Chinese beer brand needs differentiated label design through active use of unique brand design.

Influence of structural system measures on the dynamic characteristics of a multi-span cable-stayed bridge

  • A three-dimensional finite element model for the Jiashao Bridge, the longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge in the world, is established using the commercial software package ANSYS. Dynamic characteristics of the bridge are analyzed and the effects of structural system measures including the rigid hinge, auxiliary piers and longitudinal constraints between the girders and side towers on the dynamic properties including modal frequency, mode shape and effective mass are studied by referring to the Jiashao Bridge. The analysis results reveal that: (i) the installation of the rigid hinge significantly reduces the modal frequency of the first symmetric lateral bending mode of bridge deck. Moreover, the rigid hinge significantly changes the mode shape and effective mass of the first symmetric torsional mode of bridge deck; (ii) the layout of the auxiliary piers in the side-spans has a limited effect on changing the modal frequencies, mode shapes and effective masses of global vibration modes; (iii) the employment of the longitudinal constraints significantly increases the modal frequencies of the vertical bending modes and lateral bending modes of bridge deck and have significant effects on changing the mode shapes of vertical bending modes and lateral bending modes of bridge deck. Moreover, the effective mass of the first anti-symmetric vertical bending of bridge deck in the longitudinal direction of the fully floating system is significantly larger than that of the partially constrained system and fully constrained system. The results obtained indicate that the structural system measures of the multi-span cable-stayed bridge have a great effect on the dynamic properties, which deserves special attention for seismic design and wind-resistant design of the multi-span cable-stayed bridge.

  • Gold wire has long been used as a proven method of connecting a silicon die to a substrate in wide variety of package types, delivering high yield and productivity. However, with the high price of gold, the semiconductor packaging industry has been implementing an alternate wire material. These materials may include silver (Ag) or copper (Cu) alloys as an alternative to save material cost and maintain electrical performance. This paper will analyze and compare the electrical characteristics of several wire types. For the study, typical 0.6 mil, 0.8 mil and 1.0 mil diameter wires were selected from various alloy types (2N gold, Palladium (Pd) coated/doped copper, 88% and 96% silver) as well as respective pure metallic wires for comparison. Each wire model was validated by comparing it to electromagnetic simulation results and measurement data. Measurements from the implemented test boards were done using a vector network analyzer (VNA) and probe station setup. The test board layout consisted of three parts: 1. Analysis of the diameter, length and material characteristic of each wire; 2. Comparison between a microstrip line and the wire to microstrip line transition; and 3. Analysis of the wire's cross-talk. These areas will be discussed in detail along with all the extracted results from each type the wire.

Switch Circuit Design in 0.18㎛ BCDMOS for Small Form Factor Automotive Smart Junction Box (자동차 스마트 정션 박스 소형화를 위한 0.18㎛ BCDMOS 기반 스위치 회로 설계)

  • This paper presents a design of the enable switch circuit, which is consist of discrete device at smart junction box(SJB) board. The Enable switch circuit, which receives ignition signal (IG) for input, sends a drive signal to linear regulator and other elements. The circuit design is carried out in a BCDMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ technology, and the performances are verified through simulations according to AEC-Q100 and ISO 7637-2. Die area of the designed Enable switch circuit is $1.67mm{\times}0.54mm$ in layout, and it is shown that the die can be housed in $3mm{\times}3mm$ HVSON8 package. The designed enable switch circuit is expected to be widely adopted in various automotive SJB's since it can significantly reduce the overall printed circuit board form factor.

  • This paper deals with the simulation model for design and operations of A-Mart logistic center for low temperature products. In developed simulation model, receiving docks, digital classification system (DCS), shipping docks, material handling devices and manual sorting stations are considered. Five types of cargo such as fruits, palletized fruits, delicatessen and fisheries, vegetables and refrigerated cargoes are considered. The simulation model and process animation are developed using the simulation package ARENA. Among various design and operation alternatives consisting of the number of workers of receiving dock, allocation of receiving docks by cargo types, DCS capacity, the number of folk-lift, the number of manual sorting operators and overall layout, the best alternatives of each subsystem are selected by simulation analysis. The major performance measures such as DCS throughput, utilization of operators at each station, receiving docks utilization and folk-lift utilization are considered for the alternative evaluation.

  • Long endurance is a key issue in the application of unmanned aerial vehicles. This study presents feasibility test results when fuel cell system as an alternative to the conventional engine is applied for the power of the UAV after the 150W fuel cell system is developed and packaged to the 1/4 scale super cub airplane. Fuel cell system is operated by dead-end method in the anode part and periodically purged to remove the water droplet in flow field during the operation. Oxygen in the air is supplied to the stack by the two air blowers. And fuel cell stack is water cooled by cooling circuit to dissipate the heat generated during the fuel cell operation. Weight balance is considered to integrate the stack and balance of plant (BOP) in package layout. In flight performance test, we demonstrated 4 times standalone take-off and landing. In the laboratory test simulating the flight condition to quantify the energy flow, the system is analyzed in detail. Sankey diagram shows that electric efficiency of the fuel cell system is 39.2%, heat loss 50.1%, parasitic loss 8.96%, and unreacted purged gas 1.67%, respectively compared to the total hydrogen input energy. Feasibility test results show that fuel cell system is high efficient and appropriate for the power of UAV.
