한국 청소년의 우울과 자살 (Depression and Suicide in Korean Adolescents)

  • 산업화된 나라들에서 청소년기에 우울과 자살이 급격하게 증가하고 여성이 남성에 비해 우울증 발병률이 높아진다는 일관된 결과가 나타난다. 청소년기 우울은 불안과 섭식장애 및 주의력 결핍과 파괴성 행동장애와 함께 나타나는 경향이 높고 자살과 밀접하게 관련된다. 청소년의 우울과 자살에 관한 기초자료를 개관하고 제어이론의 입장에서 우울에 대한 기존의 심리학적 설명이론들을 통합해서 조망해 보려 하였다. 최근 수정된 제어이론의 입장에서 '우울과 불안과의 관계' '우울과 자살과의 관계' '청소년기에 우울이 급증하는 이유' '청소년기부터 여성이 남성에 비해 우울을 많이 경험하는 이유' 및 '한국 청소년의 우울 및 자살과 관련되는 문화적 요인' 등에 대해 논의했다.

통계적 분석을 통한 우울증 변증도구와 심리검사의 상관성 연구 (Correlation between Instrument on Pattern Identification for Depression and Psychological Tests by Statistical Analysis)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to determine the correlation between Instrument on Pattern Identification for Depression and Psychological tests by Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Regression analysis.Methods: Two assessors carried out the evaluation using the instrument on pattern identification for depression. They also performed the following psychological tests: Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI), the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI_Total), Self-disclosure Inventory, subjective well-being Inventory, Health perception Inventory, and Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI). A total of 167 participants who got HAM-D score over 12 were targeted for the evaluation. Our research team carried out Pearson correlation coefficient analyses and regression analysis between pattern identification for depression and Psychological tests. We listed the results by descending order and interpreted the results.Results: Pearson correlation analysis revealed the following results: 1) Stagnation of Liver Gi was associated with BDI (0.60) and STAI (0.55); 2) Dual Deficiency of the Heart and Spleen was associated with BDI (0.60), ISI_Total (0.52), and STAI (0.42); 3) Relieving stagnation of Phlegm-Gi was associated with BDI (0.65), STAI (0.54), and Subjective well-being inventory (−0.52); 4) Gi-deficiency Mingled with sputum was associated with BDI (0.50), ISI_Total (0.40), and STAI (0.395); 5) Stagnant Gi transforming into fire was associated with BDI (0.56), STAI_TR (0.51), and Health perception Inventory (−0.458); 6) Yin-Deficiency with Effulgent Fire was associated with BDI (0.55), ISI_total (0.54), and STAI (0.41).Conclusions: Through correlation analysis between Instrument on Pattern Identification for Depression and Psychological tests, we could suggest a System for Oriental Medical Diagnosis for Depression.

대학생의 심리적 독립, 우울 정도와 우울 대응행동 간의 관계 (Relationship of Psychological Separation, Depression and Antidepressive Coping Behaviors in University Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국 대학생의 심리적 독립, 우울 및 우울 대응행동에 대해 파악하고, 심리적 독립과 우울 간의 관계를 파악하는 것이다. 본 연구는 충청도 소재의 4개교의 대학생 131명을 대상으로, 구조화된 설문지를 이용한 자가보고식 설문조사로 시행되었다. 연구결과, 대상자의 우울 수준은 우울하지 않음 54.2%, 경증 우울 22.9%, 중증 우울 16.8%, 심한 우울 6.1%로 나타났으며, 우울 대응행동은 인지활동지향행동 30.76%, 혼자하는 행동 28.32%, 대물지향행동 25.50%, 대인관계지향행동 15.06% 순으로 나타났다. 우울 수준에 따라 아버지의 심리적 독립은 기능적, 정서적, 갈등적 독립에 있어 유의한 차이를 나타내었고, 어머니의 심리적 독립은 우울 수준에 따라 갈등적 독립만 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 아버지로부터의 심리적 독립은 기능적, 태도적, 정서적, 갈등적 독립의 모든 영역에서 우울과 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 어머니로부터의 심리적 독립은 갈등적 독립만 우울과 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생의 심리적 건강향상을 위한 간호중재는 아버지로부터의 심리적 독립 수준을 강화하고 어머니와의 갈등적 독립을 해결하기 위한 전략이 포함되어야 할 것이며, 보다 바람직한 우울 대응행동을 할 수 있도록, 사회적, 정서적 지지가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

대학병원 근무 간호사의 교대근무가 심리적 변인들에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Shift-Work on Psychological Factors in University Hospital's Nurses.)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to assess the effects of shift-work on psychological factors in university hospital's nurses. Method: The subjects were 276 nurses who have worked in a university hospital and the nurses were questioned with self-reported questionnaire forms. We investigated psychological factors(anxiety, depression, stress and self-esteem), nurses' general characteristics and shift-work. The data was analyzed by using SAS for Windows 9.13. Results: The frequency of nurses with anxiety, depression and high stress were 56.5%, 44.9% and 19.6%, respectively. The mean score of self-esteem was 30.03. Stress was higher in cases of having shift-work. Immediately after doing shift-work, nurses had higher depression and stress, and lower self-esteem scores. After controlling confounding variables, psychological factors affected by shift-work was stress. An upward tendency in anxiety, depression and stress were found in cases of doing shift-work for more than 5 years. Conclusions: It is necessary to develope a program for reducing psychological disturbance at the early times of shift-work and to plan adequate shift-work intervals.

호텔종사원의 직무스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향: 긍정심리자본의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Job Stress of Hotel Employee's on Depression: Focused on Moderating Effect of Positive Psychological Capital)

  • 본 연구는 호텔종사원을 대상으로 직무스트레스와 우울과의 관계에서 긍정심리자본이 조절역할을 할 수 있는지 살펴보기 위하여 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 서울 경기지역의 특급호텔과 특1급 호텔 중 6개 호텔을 선정하여 호텔에서 근무하는 직원으로 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 2017년 11월 7일부터 11월 27일까지 3주간 실시하였다. 총 330부를 배포하여 최종 유효한 설문지 308부를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과, 직무스트레스의 요인 중 업무환경, 시간제약, 의사소통의 3개 하부요인이 우울에 미치는 영향관계에서 공통적으로 희망을 제외한 긍정심리자본의 나머지 3개 하부요인(자기효능감, 복원력, 낙관주의)은 조절작용을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 직무스트레스의 요인 중 직무불안정에서는 긍정심리자본 요인 네 개의 요인들 모두가 조절작용을 하고 있지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

수동적 음악청취가 간호대학생의 심리적 안녕감과 우울에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Passive Music Listening on Psychological Well-Being and Depression in Undergraduate Nursing Students)

  • Purposes: This study was conducted in order to investigate the effects of passive music listening on psychological well-being and depression in 134 nursing students enrolled in two colleges of nursing in Kyeonggi-do, Korea. Methods: A prospective, pretest and posttest, controlled, quasi-experimental design was used. An intervention group (n= 74) participated in a 14-week passive music listening program before and after each lecture while those who were assigned as a control group (n=60) were given a series of traditional lectures. Analysis of data was performed using chi-square test, independent t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test, using SPSS 19.0. Results: Although no significant difference was observed in psychological well-being (t=0.34, p=.738), depression (z=-3.19, p=.001) showed a significant difference in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusions: This study provided evidence of the beneficial impact of passive music listening for nursing students with depression. Conduct of further studies will be needed in order to verify the effects on psychological well-being.

문제행동 청소년을 위한 긍정심리학 기반 정신건강증진 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of the Mental Health Promotion Program based on Positive Psychology for Adolescents with Problem Behavior)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology for adolescents with problem behavior. Methods: The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Eligible participants were first grade students in two high schools in K Province. The inclusion criteria for the study were those with scores in the upper 15% on the Korean Youth Self-Report. A total of 74 participants were assigned to an 8-session program (n=38) or to a control (n=36) group. The outcome variables were psychological well-being, depression, and self-esteem. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in demographic variables or outcome variables, except self-esteem, between the two groups at the baseline. The experimental group had higher mean scores on psychological well-being and self-esteem and a lower mean score on depression. There were significant differences in psychological well-being (t=3.45, p=.001), self-esteem (F=5.45, p=.022), and depression (t=-2.80, p=.007) between the two groups. Conclusion: The mental health promotion program based on Positive Psychology was effective in decreasing depression as well as improving psychological well-being and self-esteem for adolescents with problem behavior. This study contributes to suggesting a framework for promoting mental health for high school students with problem behavior.

중년과 노인의 심리적 안녕감 영향요인 (Influencing of Psychological Well-Being for the Middle Aged Adults and Elderly)

  • Purpose: To investigate the impact of psychological well-being on psycho-social in the elderly and middle aged Adults. Methods: A sample of the 209 elderly and 181 middle aged adults. Data analysis was done by pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Results: First, there were significant differences between the groups in gender, religion, education, marital status, occupation and family coresidence in homogeneity tests. Second, psychological well-being, hope, self-esteem, depression and life satisfaction were significantly correlated each other in the both groups. Third, there were significant differences in psychological well-being, hope, self-esteem and depression between two groups. For middle aged adults self-esteem was influencing most in psychologic well-being while hope affected most for the elderly. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it is important to improve psychological well-being to prepare successful elderly life.

부모의 우울 유형에 따른 아동의 행복감과 자아존중감 (Parental Differences in Children's Happiness and Self-esteem by Types of Parental Depression)

  • Objective: This study pays attention to types of parental depression and differences in happiness and self-esteem of children in each group of parents. Methods: This study employed the 10th wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children. Cluster analysis, covariance analysis, and Bonferroni verification were performed on the data of 1,282 parents with 9-year-old children. Results: A total of four parental depression groups were categorized: 'both depressed,' 'mother depressed,' 'father depressed,' and 'not depressed.' Children of the not depressed group showed the highest psychological well-being among the four groups. Children of the mother mildly depressed group had lower scores in happiness and self-esteem than those of the father mildly depressed group. Conclusion/Implications: This study was a new attempt to categorize parental depression together, breaking away from individual approaches such as mother's depression, father's depression, and mother's and father's depression and complementary approaches between couples. When examining the impact of parental depression on children's psychological well-being, it is necessary to consider depression of the father and mother as a unit.

어머니 상위정서양육방식과 청소년 자녀의 심리적 적응 및 우울감의 관계 : 모-자녀 대화시간의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Relationships between Maternal Meta-Emotion Philosophy, Adolescent's Psychological Adjustment and Depression : The Moderating Effects of Mother-Adolescent Communication Time)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of mother-adolescent communication time on the relationship between maternal meta-emotion philosophy, adolescent psychological adjustment and depression. The participants for this study comprised 181 first and second grade high school students and their mothers, residing in Seoul. The results of the analyses indicated that, (a) maternal disapproving is negatively correlated to adolescents' positive world views, and that maternal laissez-faire is also negatively correlated to adolescents' emotional responsiveness. However, a positive correlation is revealed between maternal emotion-coaching and adolescents' positive self-esteem. (b) It is evident that adolescents' emotional responsiveness is influenced by maternal laissez-faire, and that adolescents' positive self-esteem is influenced by emotion-coaching. It also indicated that mother-adolescent communication time is influenced by dismissing as well as laissez-faire meta-emotion philosophy. (c) It revealed that mother-adolescent communication time, in part, has a meaningful moderating effect on the relationship between meta-emotion philosophy and adolescent depression. Therefore, the present study indicates that even if maternal disapproving, laissez-faire, or dismissing is practiced, adolescent depression levels decrease as mother-adolescent time lengthens.
