Implementation of a Robust Fuzzy Adaptive Speed Tracking Control System for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

  • This paper presents a fuzzy adaptive speed controller that guarantees a fast dynamic behavior and a precise trajectory tracking capability for surfaced-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs). The proposed fuzzy adaptive control strategy is simple and easy to implement. In addition, the proposed speed controller is very robust to system parameter and load torque variations because it does not require any accurate parameter values. The global stability of the proposed control system is analytically verified. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy adaptive speed controller, both simulation and experimental results are shown under motor parameter and load torque variations on a prototype SPMSM drive system.

  • The washing machine needs high torque for large load variation, Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) is proper to adapt the washing machine system. However, IPMSM can operate the lower output power than the other permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) when the motor control by the conventional control. This paper suggests adaptive motor control for IPMSM and experiments the washing machine system.

  • In this paper proposed to neural network PI self-tuning direct controller using Error back propagation algorithm. Proposed controller applies to speed controller and current controller. Also, this built up the interface environment to drive it simply and exactly in any kind of reference, environment fluent and parameter transaction of PMSM. Neural network PI self-tuning simulator using Visual C++ and Matlab Simulation is organized to construct this environment, Built up interface has it's own purpose that even the user who don't have the accurate knowledge of Neural network can embody operation characteristic rapidly and easily.

  • 영구자석 동기전동기 구동 인버터 시스템 내 스위치 고장은 다양한 조합으로 발생한다. 특히 스위치 개방고장의 경우 다른 전기 부품에 과전류를 유발하여 전체 시스템에 심각한 2차 손상을 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 개방고장 진단 알고리즘의 복잡성을 완화하기 위해 고장 그룹을 분류하여 고장 발생 시 false alarm의 영향을 받지 않고 간단하고 체계적인 방식으로 고장을 식별할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 스위치의 개방 고장으로 영구자석 동기전동기 구동 시스템 내 PWM 전압원 인버터의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 3중 스위치 개방고장 진단 및 검출 기법을 제시한다. 제안된 기법은 기존의 개방고장 진단방법과 달리 정보처리를 위해 Moving Filter를 사용함으로써 연산부하를 증가시키지 않고 신속한 고장 검출이 가능하며 별도의 하드웨어 구성없이 구현이 가능하다. 제안된 기법의 안정성과 유효성이 시뮬레이션을 통해 입증된다.

  • According to the rapid growth of high speed and precise industry the application of synchronous motor has been increased. In the application fields, the fast dynamic response is of prime importance. In particular, since the PMSM has characteristics of high speed, high thrust, it has used in high-performance servo drive. From these reasons, it is recently used for high precise position control, and machine tool. In this paper, using the state observer, robust vector position control method for the purpose of improving the system performance deterioration caused by parameter variations is proposed.

  • This paper presents estimation of d-axis and q-axis inductance of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) by using an extended Kalman filter (EKF). The EKF is widely used for control applications including the motor sensorless control and parameter estimation. The motor parameters can be changed by temperature and air-gap flux. In particular, the variation of the inductance affects torque characteristics like the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control. Therefore, by estimating the parameters, it is possible to improve the torque characteristics of the motor. The performance of the proposed estimator is verified by simulations and experimental results based on an 11kW PMSM drive system.

  • 본 논문은 표면 부착형 영구자석 동기전동기 벡터제어 시스템의 속도 및 전류제어와 과변조 기법을 MATLAB/SINULINK의 TI C2000 임베디드 타겟을 이용한 모델기반 제어기 설계방법으로 구현하였고, Mathwork사에서 제공하는 Demo 프로그램의 속도 및 전류제어와 과변조 기법을 비교하여 보았다. 먼저 각 제어기에 대한 구조를 설명하고, 각각의 응답에 대한 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 비교 검증하였다.

  • Generally, the operating efficiency of the washing machine is mostly affected by the washing time. The washing time is determined by the amount and the type of the laundry. Although the type of the laundry is easily inputted by the user, but the amount of the laundry is difficult to do. For this reason, the specific process is existed for the estimation of the laundry and the time of the washing mode is determined by the estimated laundry. Therefore, this paper proposes the washing load estimation algorithm by the inertia estimator. The proposed algorithm is implemented on the PMSM drive using the low cost position sensor for practical washing machine application. The proposed algorithm is verified by the drum washing machine for the practical load condition test.

  • In this paper, we propose that a model based design for a electric tractor system by using ASM(Automotive Simulation Models). Before developing a realistic electric tractor, it is essential that defining the capacities of power sources and optimizing the parameters of electric tractor. In additionally, because the electric tractor must have not only driving function but also working function, two PMSM are used at electric tractor. ASM which is based on simulink and Carsim were used to design a electric system and powertrain of electric tractor. For verifying the electric tractor system, we compared the design parameters such as max power, state of charge, drive distance, velocity which were carried out by the simulation and experimental method. The predicted results by the development model were in good agreement with the simulation results. According to simulation of tractor, it is possible to arrange the advanced research of dynamical characteristic of tractor and present the guidelines for the electrical driving system.

  • Chaotic behavior in motor systems is undesired dynamics in real-time implementation since the speed is oscillated in a wide range and the torque is changed by a random manner. We present an adaptive control approach for time-varying permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) with chaotic phenomenon. We consider that its parameters are changed randomly within certain bounds. First, a nonlinear system model of a PMSM is transformed to derive a nominal linear control strategy. Then, an auxiliary control for compensating real-time control error occurred by system perturbation due to parameter change is designed by using Lyapunov stability theory. Numerical simulation is accomplished for evaluating its efficiency and reliability comparing with the traditional control method. Additionally, we test our control method in real-time motor experiment including a PSoC based drive system to demonstrate its practical applicability.
