  • Pile foundations have been widely used in civil engineering construction for many years. Structures subjected to large lateral loads usually have pile foundations as shallow foundations cannot sometimes support the moments on these structure. The purpose of this paper is to propose the p - multiplier factor (P$\sub$M/) based on the characteristics of behavior of laterally loaded group pile in homogeneous sand. For this, a series of model tests are performed and the composite analytical method proposed by author is used to the propose P$\sub$M/. Based on the model test results of the large number of laterally loaded group piles, p - multiplier factors for homogeneous sand are proposed by back analysis under various condition of soil density, spacing-to-diameter ratio of pile, number of pile, and spacing-to-diameter of pile. P - multiplier approach provides a simple but sufficient tool for characterizing the shadowing group effects of laterally loaded group pile.

  • The choice of an irreducible polynomial and the representation of elements have influence on the efficiency of operators for finite fields. This paper suggests two serial multiplier for the extention field GF$(p^n)$ where p is odd prime. A serial multiplier using an irreducible binomial consists of (2n+5) resisters, 2 MUXs, 2 multipliers of GF(p), and 1 adder of GF(p). It obtains the mulitplication result after $n^2+n$ clock cycles. A serial multiplier using an AOP consists of (2n+5) resisters, 1 MUX, 1 multiplier of CF(p), and 1 adder of GF(p). It obtains the mulitplication result after $n^2$+3n+2 clock cycles.

  • Shaking table tests are performed to evaluate the dynamic group pile effect in fine sand. Single pile tests and $2{\times}4$ group pile tests are performed on 3D pile spacing. Dynamic p-y backbone curves are obtained to evaluate dynamic group pile effect by using dynamic p-y curve of single pile. And dynamic group pile p-multiplier is estimated by dynamic p-y backbone curve. Dynamic p-multiplier can be calculated by using subground reaction ratio of dynamic p-y backbone curve which is the same displacement of p-y curve peak point As the result, dynamic group pile effects are evaluated in terms of a shaking frequency, a shaking acceleration, and a relative density. Dynamic group pile p-multiplier is the largest at lead pile, and the value decrease at middle pile and trail pile. p multiplier increases as increasing input acceleration and decreasing relative density. This results coincide with NCHRP's research which suggest p multiplier increases as increasing pile cap displacement.

  • We consider the weighted spaces ℓp(𝕊, 𝜑) and ℓp(𝕊, 𝜓) for 1 < p < +∞, where 𝜑 and 𝜓 are weights on 𝕊 (= ℕ or ℤ). We obtain a sufficient condition for ℓp(𝕊, 𝜓) to be multiplier weighted-space of ℓp(𝕊, 𝜑) and ℓp(𝕊, 𝜓). Our condition characterizes the last multiplier weighted-space in the case where 𝕊 = ℤ. As a consequence, in the particular case where 𝜓 = 𝜑, the weighted space ℓp(ℤ,𝜓) is a convolutive algebra.

  • In this paper, a low voltage CMOS analog four-quadrant multiplier is presented. The proposed multiplier is composed of a pair of transconductor and lowers supply voltage down to $V_{T}$+2 $V_{Ds,sat}$+ $V_{DS,triode}$. The designed analog four-quadrant multiplier have simulated by HSPICE using 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ n-well CMOS process with a 1.2V supply voltage. Simulation results show that the THD can be 1.28% at maximum differential input of 0.7 $V_{p-p}$././.

  • In this paper, we implement an Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem(ECC) processor for DTCP. Because DTCP(Digital Transmission Content Protection) uses GF(p), where p is a 160-bit prime integer, we design a scalar multiplier based on GF(p). The scalar multiplier consists of a modular multiplier and an adder. The multiplier uses montgomery algorithm which is implemented with CSA(Carry-save Adder) and CLA(Carry-lookahead Adder). Our new scalar multiplier has been synthesized using Samsung 0.18 um CMOS technology and the maximum operation frequency is estimated 98 MHz, with the size about 65,000 gates. The resulting performance is 29.6 kbps, that is, it takes 5.4 msec to process a 160-bit data frame. We assure that this performance is enough to be used for digital signature, encryption/decryption, and key exchanges in real time environments.

  • In this paper, the multiplicative algorithm of two polynomials over finite field GF(($p^{m}$) is presented. Using the presented algorithm, the multiple-valued multiplier of the serial input-output modular structure by CCD is constructed. This multiple-valued multiplier on CCD is consisted of three operation units: the multiplicative operation unit, the modular operation unit, and the primitive irreducible polynomial operation unit. The multiplicative operation unit and the primitive irreducible operation unit are composed of the overflow gate, the inhibit gate and mod(p) adder on CCD. The modular operation unit is constructed by two mod(p) adders which are composed of the addition gate, overflow gate and the inhibit gate on CCD. The multiple-valued multiplier on CCD presented here, is simple and regular for wire routing and possesses the property of modularity. Also. it is expansible for the multiplication of two elements on finite field increasing the degree mand suitable for VLSI implementation.

  • In this study, to investigate the effect of the stress reduction of group piles by dynamic loading, a dynamic p-y curve was established and the dynamic p-multiplier was calculated. Dynamic numerical analysis was performed by input sinusoidal waves to the bottom of the pile - ground system for $2{\times}2$ group pile, single pile and $5{\times}5$ group pile, single pile in dry sandy soil, and the pile spacing was changed to 2.5 and 5.0 times of the pile diameter. By establishing and comparing the dynamic p-y curves of the single pile and group piles, the dynamic group pile effect of the piles according to the pile center spacing and row position of the group pile piles is analyzed. $5{\times}5$ showed symmetry of the dynamic P-multiplier value around the pile origin coordinate. The dynamic p-multiplier value at the single pile, $5{\times}5$ pile (pile spacing: 2.5D) is 0.26 ~ 0.30 at the pile number 3, pile number 23, 0.14 pile number 13, and 0.14 ~ 0.38 at the pile number 5, pile number 18. These values differed from the static p-multiplier, especially due to the different loading conditions. The dynamic p-multiplier ($P_{dm}$) estimation through various types of input dynamic loads is expected to be used for dynamic design and analysis of group pile-ground systems of civil foundation structures.
