A Study on Characteristics and the Back Fire Limit Equivalnce Ratio of Hydrogen Fueled Engine with External Mixture (흡기관분사식 수소기관의 특성 및 역화한계당량비의 해석)

  • As an essential step for development of a duel injection hydrogen fueled engine which can obtain high thermal efficiency and power in overall operating range, performance and BFL(back fire limit) equivalance ratio in hydrogen fueled engine with external mixture are investigated. As the results, BFL equivalence ratio in hydrogen fueled engine with external mixture is approximately 0.7. It is deduced that controls of driving conditions are required in transient stage from external mixture type to inner injection type. And in order to increase thermal efficiency, it is also found that BFL equivalence ratio should be expanded as much as possible.

  • The industrial power distribution system is a radial system and therefore usually protected with time delayed over current relays (OCR's). Proper time dial settings are provided at the OCR's. Meanwhile, the systems, where synchronous generator, or synchronous motors, or large induction motors are operating, can not be protected with only OCR's with time grading. This paper presents a technical limit and a suitable range of time delay in applying OCR's to clearing faults in the industrial power systems for maintaining stability. Dynamic simulations are made to show them employing a real power systems of a large petro-chemical complex.

  • In this paper, we implement that hollow type joint using two more than general motor and design for compact structure embedded electronic parts in the development of 7 degree of freedom manipulator. We propose a method to overcome risk and the limit of operating radius which are point out as a limit of previous industrial robot. and also propose to more efficient and stable manipulator implement method.

Burst Pressure Evaluation for Through-Wall Cracked Tubes in the Steam Generator (관통균열이 존재하는 증기발생기 전열관의 파열압력 평가)

  • Operating experience of steam generators shows that the tubes are degraded by stress corrosion cracking, fretting wear and so on. These defected tubes could stay in service if it is proved that the tubes have sufficient structural margin to preclude the risk of tube bursting. This paper provides detailed plastic limit pressure solutions for through-wall cracks in the steam generator tubes. These are developed based on three dimensional(3D) finite element analyses assuming elastic-perfectly plastic material behavior. Both axial and circumferential through-wall cracks in free span and in u-bend regions are considered. The resulting limit pressure solutions are given in a polynomial form, and thus can be simply used in practical integrity assessment of the steam generator tubes.

  • In this paper, it was proposed a new technology to improve the performance of the remote control in virtual reality applications. The operator must know the information of surroundings of the robot, collision possibility of the equipment, and force feedback of the manipulator. The time delay problem occurs in the tele-operating and it causes vibration and expressive power of the manipulator owing to bidirectional force feedback. We presented a new control method to control of the teleoperating system based on serial bus. The reliability is evaluated by simulation.

  • The paper is proposed intantaneous torque control of IPMSM for drive of wide speed range. The control scheme is based on the mathematical model of the motor and is applicable to the constant torque and field weakening operations The scheme allows the motor to be driven with maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) characteristic below base speed and it maintains the maximum voltage limit of the motor wide field weakening and the motor current limit under all conditions of operation accurately. For each control mode. a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $i_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to PMSM drive system for drive of wide speed range, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • The military communication equipment is required the high reliability for operating adequate functions under severe conditions. This reliability is the essential element for the quality of the product, for the uncontrolled factors, such as the clearance, damage of the material, the reduction of stiffness, which are the designer is unable to handle. In this paper, the uncertainty for the design was supposed to the probability model for the military communication equipment, and the average of the objective function was minimized for reducing design uncertainty. The reliability-based design optimization which was implemented the limit state function was formulated into the mathematical model, so the reliable optimized structure was implemented than the base-line design.

Workload of Patients Transferring and its Improving Methods (병원 환자 운반 업무의 작업 부하 분석 및 개선 방안)

  • Nursing often requires heavy physical work activities such as lifting heavy loads, working in awkward postures, transferring patients, operating hazardous equipment, etc. Among various nursing tasks, patients transferring is one of the most physically demanding tasks. This study aims to investigate workload of the patients transferring, and to propose its improving methods for reducing high workload. The results showed that irrespective of methods for patients transferring and the number of workers involved, workload for most patients transferring tasks exceeded the action limit represented in terms of L5/SI compressive force of 3,400N or LI of 1.0 by NIOSH. The loads for some tasks were far larger than the maximum permissible limit of 6,400N. It is recommended that the mechanical devices for transferring patients such as ceiling crane, sling lift etc. should be introduced rather than simply increasing the number of workers in the tasks.

  • This paper estimates the capacity of shunt type active power filters(APF) for harmonic/reactive power compensation with a thyristor converter load. The base capacity requirement of APF is defined for idealized converter load current waveform and the effect of commutation overlap on the APF capacity is examined. The APF capacity required for reactive power compensation in addition to the harmonic elimination is estimated to give maximum achievable power factor for various operating condition of the partially-loaded thyristor converter. The method of current limit of APF is introduced, and it is shown that the APF capacity can be considerably reduced by deliberately limiting the peak current while maintaining the filtering performance to meet the level std 519 regulation.

  • This paper presents the analysis and the design of IPMSM for high speed limit with constant torque. The characteristics of IPMSM are calculated by using d-q equivalent circuit having the parameters, such as current phase angle, d-q axis inductances, effective turns. These parameters affect the output characteristics. In this paper, the improved IPMSM to widen the operating speed limit are designed by the results.
