  • An integrated program of driving simulator has been developed for excavators using the Motif, OpenGL, and C compiler. The developed program not only offers a GUI but also covers graphic algorithms, therefore, the user can easily run the driving simulator whose components include a simplified visual graphics system. Several graphics technique are combined and applied to the simulator program in order to increase the speed of graphical representation, which access computer memories, mix 2D models with 3D ones, and use the basic position detection method. A text format environment file has been utilized for organizing more flexible driving circumstances.

  • The university library's service strategy needs to be established based on users, who are actual service consumers, including an outlook on changes in the social environment. Accordingly, in this study, college and graduate students, instructors, and researchers who are university library users were identified to understand users' perceptions of the university library functions and services currently provided, and the demand for services that need to be improved or developed. Data was collected through an online survey, with 1,216 responses from the student group and 433 responses from the researcher group. The survey results were organized by each group, and implications were drawn from common results. First, it was found that both groups had a continuous demand for strengthening the collection and access to information resources. Second, there was a need to expand information provision services, such as strengthening the sharing of information resources through cooperation with other organizations and wishing to use overseas academic materials in various ways. Third, although the library was recognized as an important institution, it was found that satisfactory use was not achieved due to lack of publicity. Fourth, it was found that university libraries recognize that they must provide open services to everyone without discrimination. The results of this study can be used as basic data when establishing strategies to develop and improve university library services optimized for users.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation indicator of institutional repositories to be used by participating university libraries of dCollection. Based on the literature reviews of digital library evaluation, core evaluation measures and criteria were identified. In order to verify the applicability and appropriateness of those evaluation criteria for institutional repositories, two methods were employed: A case study with sixteen university libraries and a Delphi study with twenty university libraries. The results of both studies led the development of an evaluation model which consisted of four evaluation dimensions and 29 criteria. This evaluation model should be utilized as tools for objective assessment and guidelines for improving institutional repository services by universities libraries in which the dCollection is currently Implemented or the future plan of the dCollection is underway.

  • As the discussions on sharing research data prevail by the chance of the inauguration of the International Open Data Charter, research support organizations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan are encouraging researchers to deposit their findings in a credible repository. Humanities and social sciences field, in which research data sharing culture and storage infrastructure are immature compared to life science and natural science, also needs to establish and operate a reliable storage infrastructure to guarantee the continuous access and utilization of data. This study analyzed the overall operational status of 305 subject repositories registered in re3data for the humanities and social sciences and clustered them according to the operational level using 5 indicators. As a result, 70% of the population were identified as universal clusters, and 20% of the excellent cluster was found to have the largest number of linguistic fields and the German-operated. In addition, this study confirmed through correspondence analysis that there is a relation between the sub-theme fields of humanities and social sciences and the types of data to be archived. The history and art domians are related to images, and social studies are related to statistical data. Linguistics has also been analyzed to be related to audio, plain text, and code.

  • Since the introduction of the OA transformative agreement as a new way of licensing electronic resources, the number of OA transformative agreements has continued to grow. Despite the wide range of content that should be included in the agreement due to the nature of the OA transformative agreement, there is a lack of research on OA transformative agreements. As a basis for developing a standard for OA transformative agreements, this study examines the current status of OA transformative agreements and analyzes the differences between two types of OA transformative agreements and the subscription contract. It was found that the number of OA transformative agreements has increased significantly worldwide, but the disclosure of OA transformative agreements has not been universalized. The overall structure of two different types of OA transformative agreements and a subscription contract is similar, but there are differences in the detailed clauses. In the OA transformative agreement, the detailed clauses related to the characteristic of the transformative agreement were newly created, or the details of the transformative agreement were added to the existing clauses of the subscription agreement. There were also some differences between the two types of agreements, identifying clauses that differed in content regardless of the OA transformative agreement. The study concluded that it is important to standardize the OA transformative agreement, as the number of different clauses between agreement types may increase the burden on librarians. This study is significant in that it provides a basis for the development of standardized agreements by examining the overall status of OA transformative agreements and analyzing actual agreements.

  • This study aims to analyze the regulations and actual operation status related to IR operations for eight institutions participating in the OAK project to examine the need to establish an IR operation policy and the components of an operation policy. The results showed that IR management policies need to include collection and disclosure of research results, copyright management, whether to support APC, and management plans for each type of research result. In particular, clear regulations on the collection and disclosure of research outputs are essential to ensure consistency and efficiency in IR operations. In addition, it is necessary to create an institutional foundation for researchers to share research outputs through OA publication by converting the publication fee support policy of many institutions to a support policy for OA publication. In addition, there are differences in IR management methods depending on the characteristics of each institution, and it is necessary to establish customized IR management policies that fit the characteristics of each institution. In this regard, OAK should provide standardized guidelines and technical support to facilitate the development of IR management policies for each institution. This study can be used as a basis for establishing IR management policies for domestic organizations.

  • The importance of data publishing in the open-science era is increasing as it can contribute to other scientific discoveries by accelerating the sharing of research data, improving accessibility and citability, and providing standardized technical documentation for research data. In addition, the need for data papers is emerging as a way for data papers to maintain a status equivalent to research papers, and the publication of data journals is on the rise as a new type of scholarly publishing. In particular, the field of Ecology is a field where large-scale research data are produced and managed, thus the data journal publishing in this field is active worldwide. On the other hand, the research on data journal is in its early stages in Korea, and there is no data journal in the field of Ecology. Thus, this study explores and presents strategies for publishing data journals in the ecological field. First, we investigate the publishing status of domestic and international data journals and the publication status of domestic journals. Then, we conducted a focused group interview with experts of scholarly publishing, open access policy and journal publishing in the field of Ecology. Finally, based on the survey and the expert FGI's results, strategies are suggested in terms of publishing data journals in the field of ecology, organizing and publishing journals, organizing journal editors, and receiving manuscripts.

  • In this thesis, we sought to build a home and business environment based on the rapid prototyping technology and network technologies that enabled rapid access to high-speed technologies and technologies. Using the analytic algorithm for image processing techniques, using the analytic algorithm for analyzing and tracking objects in the OpenCV library, trace objects and track objects and control various sensors. It also wants to implement a platform enabling various sensors to collect and record various services by controlling and connecting various sensors through the master Single board and the slave single.

  • This study proposes an integration model of information retrieval systems using a standard distributed object computing technology in digital library environments. In the proposed integration model called DDIRIORB, the middleware broker based on CORBA is designed for the transparent access to the distributed information repositories and the consistent view of the information retrieval by applying 239.50 protocol. The DDIRIORB is an adaptable open architecture that allows for the following benefits : bibliographic and abstract information retrieval simultaneously, interoperability between application servers and clients, consistent view of search results, complexity reduction of integration interfaces, and easy to use.
