  • Background: To survey and analyze awareness and recognition during a non-face-to-face lecture, and satisfaction with among dental technology students. Methods: Total 179 undergraduates were surveyed from the Department of Dental Technology. Frequency analysis, cross analysis, independent sample t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used for analyzing statistics. Results: Overall satisfaction with the non-face-to-face lecture was the highest (p=.037) while watching a recorded lecture in the theory curriculum subject. In the case of practical subjects, satisfaction with face-to-face lectures appeared to be higher (p=.039) compared to non-face-to-face lectures. Factors influencing the recognition of non-face-to-face lecture quality included awareness of a place to conduct a class and of face-to-face delivered lecture quality, satisfaction with face-to-face lecture, and satisfaction with non-face-to-face lecture. Factors affecting satisfaction with a non-face-to-face lecture included a place to conduct a class, the most effective theory non-face-to-face class method, the method of having been experienced the most among non-face-to-face lecture methods, and the recognition of non-face-to-face lecture quality. Conclusions: Future educational environment should include combined face-to-face and non-face-to-face lectures. An efficient educational indicator will be needed to evaluate learners' assessments and opinions about online classes, followed by its application to teaching methods.

  • With the coronavirus outbreak in China at the end of 2019, a global pandemic, most universities held non-face-to-face classes in the spring of 2020. One of the difficulties experienced by universities that abruptly conducted non-face-to-face education was management of the quality of education. Therefore, this study compared and analyzed how the existing indicators used to measure the quality of education in a non-face-to-face education environment changed. The results of the survey on the degree of adaptation and satisfaction of the lecture held at Handong University in the spring of 2020 were compared and analyzed with the previous data of the same lecturer. Overall, both class adaptation and satisfaction scores were found to be similar or slightly higher than before. Compared to lectures conducted by uploading recorded lectures, lectures conducted in real time had higher scores on all satisfaction survey questions. There was no significant change in satisfaction depending on the number of participants and the teacher's previous online lecture experience.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception of non-face-to-face online undergraduate lectures experienced by foreign learners, to identify problems of online lectures, and to suggest improvements. For this study, the perception of online lectures was investigated and analyzed by foreign undergraduate students who took online lectures at A and B universities. Through this, I explored the design direction, complementary measures, and direction of online lectures to be held at Korean universities in the future. As a result of this study, non-real-time lectures through E campus were recognized as advantages in that they could learn repeatedly and listen to lectures at home., Real-time lectures using Zoom were recognized as an advantage of being able to communicate between professors and learners. Both types of online lectures had many tasks and had difficulty in focusing on the lecture until the end. In the future, it was found that the amount of lecture contents and the amount of tasks should be reduced and the condition and sound quality of the lecture image should be improved. As for the evaluation method, they preferred online evaluation rather than offline evaluation, and they preferred relative evaluation rather than absolute evaluation. The results of this study were able to closely understand how learners perceive online lectures. Also, when conducting online lectures, I was able to know the points that need to be improved in the future. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the design direction of online lectures and the development of online contents at each university.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the interaction and satisfaction of with web-based lectures. In addition, it seeks identify their correlations as well as the factors that influence satisfaction. Methods: The study subjects consisted of 139 college students taking up dental hygiene from Suncheon. ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were used on the data collected. The Cronbach's alpha for interaction and satisfaction were 0.949 and 0.921, respectively. Results: The interaction recorded was moderate compared to face-to-face lectures. In particular, interaction between students was higher among 3rd grade students compared to those in the 1st grade (p=0.002). Satisfaction with the appropriateness of lecture content and duration was high, but relatively low in terms of the quality of the lecture and the desire to broaden its scope. In particular, satisfaction was higher among students in higher grade levels than their more junior counterparts (p<0.05). It was also found to be positively correlated with interaction (p<0.01). Their respective presence on the educational platform had the greatest impact on satisfaction (β=0.495, p<0.001). Conclusions: Increased interaction results in greater levels of satisfaction. Furthermore, an improvement in the quality of the lectures and the students' perception of them would enable lectures to be conducted more effectively in situations wherein face-to-face lectures cannot be done.

  • This study explored students' online fashion studio class experiences, and investigated the factors affecting their class satisfaction. An online survey of college students who were enrolled in online studio classes within apparel and fashion-related departments during the spring of 2020 was conducted in June 2020. Responses from a total of 213 participants were included in the final data. Respondents rated lecture clips as the most useful, followed by teacher demonstration and feedback, PowerPoint (PPT) supplements, and Q&As. Frequently mentioned areas of improvement were online platform stability and video quality. Many respondents also stated that more streamlined teacher-student communication channels, immediate and meticulous teacher feedback, the adoption of course contents developed specifically for an online environment, and provisions for equipment usage would be desirable. Student satisfaction of an online fashion design studio class was significantly affected by teaching presence, social presence, online learning system stability, perceived usefulness of teacher's demonstration, and affective response toward COVID-19. Students satisfaction of an online garment construction studio class was significantly affected by teaching and social presence, online learning system stability, and perceived usefulness of teacher's demonstration. Based on these findings, we recommend developing teaching contents and methods that allow students to feel included in class and establish an online system with various functions to enhance the sense of social connection that can enable two-way communication.
