  • The purpose of this study was to examine maternal mental-state talks while mothers and their 2-year-old children interacted in two contexts which were pretense/role-play and shared book reading contexts. Thirty-six dyads of mothers and their 2-year-old children participated in this study. The results showed that the mothers made more references to mental-state in the pretense/role-ply context than in the book reading context, but the ratio of using the three types of mental state talks(i.e., desire, feeling, and cognition) did not vary with the contexts. The most frequently used mental-state talk by the mothers was 'desire' in both contexts and the tendency to use the three types of mental-state talks in the two contexts was related. The results of this study suggest implications for providing useful information on the role of mothers in the development of children's theory of mind.

  • Marek(말액) is the headgear, which is a form of hempen hoods[Geon(건)] and the origin of it is Pa(파) of band form. A history book of an old Chinese country Post-Han $\ll$ History of HouHan (후한서)$\gg$ had recorded that a soldier wore a red band around his head that was called Pa(파). In the Han dynasty(한대), Pa had been transformed into Chaek(책) or a kind of a hemp rap(건) while e headgear had still remained as the band form and called Marek from e Tang era(당). The literatures of the Tang era had referred the red Marek of soldiers, and other literatures of the later period had recorded that of the previous headgears of the band form were related with Marek. Since the Tang era, white or yellow Marek except red one fer soldiers had been were by soldiers, musicians, dancers and singers in Yuan(원) and Ming(명) of China. The colors was recorded in red on documents mostly, this red implicated soldiers for symbol of terror. This fart was documented in an old history book $\ll$The history of 25 Eras(이십오사)$\gg$, On the other side, a wall painting in Princess Jeonghyo(정효공주)'s tomb of the Parhae(발해) period described the portraits of twelve persons, and among them, two Siwui(시위) put on the red Marek. Quoted from the record of a history book of the Tang era system , a history book of Three Kingdoms(삼국시대) of ancient Korea $\ll$Samguksaki(삼국사기)$\gg$ described that four dancers of Kogryo(고구려) wore Marek on their heads with the costumes of Koguryo, one of those Kingdoms. In consideration that the book of $\ll$Tongjun$\gg$ was the literature of the Tang era so that Marek mentioned in this book was followed by their name, the Marek of Koguryo dancers shown in the history book $\ll$Samguksaki(삼국사기)$\gg$ might be a kind of Koguryo style hemp cap[Geon(건)]. The Marek of Parhae had succeeded to the headgear of Koguryo and the identity was on Koguryo.

  • Participants in this study of the effect of story making activity on the language expression and creativity of young children were all forty 5-year-old children in a child-care facility. The experimental group read the fantasy picture book and engaged in story making activity; the control group read the same fantasy picture books the experimental group but didn't have any story making activity. Experimental treatments were given twice a week for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed by MANCOVA using scores of the pre-test as covariance. Differences were found between experimental and control groups in language expression and creativity showing that story making activity using the fantasy picture book was more effective than just reading without story making activity.

  • The purpose of this research was to find out how the interactions between mothers and their children differed depending on the age of the child and the type of book. The subjects of this study were thirty 2-year-olds and thirty 4-year-olds and their mothers. The number of male and female children was the same. The maternal interactions were analyzed in term of attention gelling, explanation, request, asking questions, and feedbacks, and the children's verbal and nonverbal reactions were also analyzed. The results showed that the characteristics of the mother and child interactions were different according the age of the child and the type of picture books. The results were discussed from the perspective of maternal scaffolding and the quality of mother-child interactions. The implications of the study were suggested in terms of the importance of the picture books and maternal roles in reading pictures books to their child.

It plays the role of the most powerful testimony and expression, with which human provides himself. The purpose of study was to grasp the relation among historical background of the middle age, human's characteristic and symbolic color by considering the fact that the costume expressed in Maciejowski Bible, which is a picture bible of the middle age and observing type, color and decoration of costume. Among 46 folios organizing Maciejowski Bible, 129 pictures explaining the Book of Genesis, the Book of Exodus, the Book of Leviticus, the Book of Numbers, the Book of Deuteronomy, the Book of Joshua and the Book of Judges, which belong to the former 400 years of the old Testament, were analyzed for people's costumes. • The current research has investigated the effect of school-aged children's TV viewing on their creativity, and examined the moderating effect of book reading in the relationship between children's TV viewing and creativity. Using data from the 10th (2017) Panel Study on Korean Children, the relationship between 9-year-old children's TV viewing, book reading, and performance on Korean Figural Creativity Test for Elementary school Student (K-FCTES) was examined. There was a significant negative correlation between children's TV viewing and creativity, and a positive correlation between children's book reading and creativity. In addition, children's TV viewing had a significant negative effect on their creativity, and children's book reading moderated this relationship. This study has its significance in that it identifies the negative effects of media exposure that needs be considered for creativity development of today's children, who are growing as digital native from birth, and it shows the importance of book reading as a factor that can control the negative effects of TV exposure.

  • In this study, connections between the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children and the contents of teacher's manual books according to it and the contents of elementary 1st grade mathematics curriculum and textbooks was analyzed to find the implications that can help to link the two curricula in the development of kindergarten and elementary school mathematics curriculum. The five following implications could be obtained from the analysis. First, it is necessary to connect the contents of the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children which were completed in that curriculum like 'spatial relation'in geometric figure domain and 'data collection'in probability and statistics domain to the contents of the 1st grade curriculum. Second, in the case of the contents not connected between the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children and the contents of elementary 1st grade mathematics curriculum but connected between the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children and the contents of elementary 2nd ~6th grade mathematics curriculum, it is necessary to re-adjust the hierarchy based on one of the curricula. Third, it is necessary to check whether $\ll$K-teacher's manual book$\gg$ obey the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children or not. Fourth, it is necessary to review the related elements of the NURI curriculum for 5 years old children and elementary 2nd ~6th grade mathematics curriculum in [activity] in $\ll$K-teacher's manual book$\gg$. Fifth, it is necessary to handle the mathematics contents explicitly and systematically in [activity] in $\ll$K-teacher's manual book$\gg$.
