초음속 불완전 팽창 난류 제트 유동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Analysis for Supersonic Off-Design Turbulent Jet Flow)

  • Numerical Analysis has been done for the supersonic off-design jet flow due to the pressure difference between the jet and the ambient fluid. The difference of pressure generates an oblique shock or an expansion wave at the nozzle exit. The waves reflect repeatedly on the center axis and the sonic surface in the shear layer. The pressure difference is resolved across these reflected waves. In this paper, the axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equation has been used with the κ-ε turbulence model. The second order TVD scheme with flux limiters, based on the flux vector split with the smooth eigenvalue split, has been used to capture internal shocks and other discontinuities. Numerical calculations have been done to analyze the off-design jet flow due to the pressure difference. The variation of pressure along the flow axis is compared with an experimental result and other numerical result. The characteristics of the interaction between the shock cell and the turbulence mixing layer have been analyzed.

소조사면 전량분포의 특성에 관한 고찰 (Study on the beam properties of small field sizes)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 소조사면의 선량특성을 측정하며 콜리메이터의 위치에 따른 반음영의 변화와 중심선량의 분포양상을 측정하며 측외측정선량점의 변화에 따른 선량분포의 특성을 측정하여 최근 대두되고 있는 소조사면 방사선치료에 유용한 정보를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 대상 및 방법 : 지멘스의 Primart 선형가속기의 6MV에너지를 이용하였으며 측정은 Farmer chamber와 Pinpoint chamber를 이용하여 심부선량율과 beam profile, 중심출력선량의 변화를 측정하였다. 중심선속의 변화에 따른 에너지의 특성과 반음영의 변화를 외측으로 2cm 간격으로 측정하였다. 측정은 $1{\times}1cm,\;3{\times}3cm,\;5{\times}5cm,\;10{\times}10cm$에서 측정하였으며 결과는 표준조건하의 측정값과 비교, 분석하였다. 결과 : Farmer chamber와 Pinpoint chamber를 이용해 $1{\times}1cm$, 10cm깊이에서 측정한 결과 두 측정기간에 소조사면에서는 $30\%$ 이상의 차이를 보였으며 조사면의 크기가 증가함에 따라 두 측정기간의 차이는 급격히 감소했다. 측외측정점의 변화에 따른 선량분포는 큰 차이가 없었으나 조사야의 크기가 감소함에 따라 $1{\times}1cm$에서는 약 $13\%$의 차이를 보여 조사야 크기에 따른 변화가 큰 것으로 측정되었다. 전체조사면에서 반음영이 차지하는 비율도 조사면이 적어짐에 따라 높게 나타났으며 $1{\times}1cm$의 조사면에서는 약 $50\%$가 반음영이 점유하는 것으로 측정되었다. 결론 : 세기조절방사선 치료를 위해서는 각기 다른 에너지 분포를 갖는 여러 각도에서 다수의 조사면를 필요로 하며 여러 복잡한 인자들이 관여하게 된다. 여러 인자들 중에서도 콜리메이터의 형태 및 위치에 따른 출력선량의 변화 양상을 정확히 측정하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 실험결과에서도 알 수 있듯이 측정깊이와 조사면의 크기 및 측정기의 종류에 따른 측정값의 변화가 매우 크게 나타나므로 양질의 세기조절방사선 치료를 제공하기 위해서는 특히 소조사면의 선량분포에 대한 특성을 정확히 측정하는 것이 매우 중요하다.

On-axis 스퍼터링과 FTS 공정으로 증착한 ZTO 박막트랜지스터의 특성 (Characterization of ZTO Thin Films Transistor Deposited by On-axis Sputtering and Facing Target Sputtering(FTS))

  • We have investigated the properties of thin film transistors(TFT) fabricated using zinc tin oxide(ZTO) thin films deposited via on-axis sputtering and FTS methods. ZTO thin films deposited by FTS showed lower root-mean-square(RMS) roughness and more uniformity than those deposited via on-axis sputtering. We observed enhanced electrical properties of ZTO TFT deposited via FTS. The ZTO films were deposited at room temperature via on-axis sputtering and FTS. The as-deposited ZTO films were annealed at $400^{\circ}C$. The TFT using the ZTO films deposited via FTS process exhibited a high mobility of $12.91cm^2/V.s$, a low swing of 0.80 V/decade, $V_{th}$ of 5.78 V, and a high $I_{on/off}$ ratio of $2.52{\times}10^6$.

광자극형광나노닷선량계를 사용한 6 MV 조사야 가장자리 바깥 선량 측정 (Measurement of Dose outside a 6 MV Field Edge Using Optically Stimulated Luminescent Nano Dot Dosimeters)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 6 MV 광자 빔에 대하여 팬텀 표면으로부터 1 cm 깊이에서 조사야 가장자리 바깥 축외선량비와 1 mmPb의 차폐비를 조사하는 데 있다. 180 cGy의 선량은 SAD기법에서 $10{\times}10cm^2$$15{\times}15cm^2$ 조사야에 대하여 깊이 10 cm에 전달되었다. 축외선량비는 조사야의 중심축과 가장자리로부터 2, 4, 6 cm에 위치된 광자극형광나노닷선량계(OSLnD)들의 선량을 측정하여 계산하였다. 그리고 1 mmPb의 차폐비는 조사야 가장자리로부터 2, 4, 6 cm에 위치된 OSLnD들의 선량을 측정하여 산출하였다. 결과로서, $10{\times}10cm^2$$15{\times}15cm^2$ 조사야에 대하여, 축외선량비들은 0.008-0.023과 0.011-0.028을 각각 얻었다. 또한 1 mmPb의 차폐비들은 0.868-0.888과 0.807-0.842을 각각 얻었다. 이 결과들은 방사선치료 조사야 바깥에 위치한 위험장기들을 보호하기 위한 자료를 제공한다.

Use of Flattening Filter Free Photon Beams for Off-axis Targets in Conformal Arc Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy

  • Dynamic conformal arc therapy (DCAT) and flattening-filter-free (FFF) beams are commonly adopted for efficient conformal dose delivery in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Off-axis geometry (OAG) may be necessary to obtain full gantry rotation without collision, which has been shown to be beneficial for peripheral targets using flattened beams. In this study dose distributions in OAG using FFF were evaluated and the effect of mechanical rotation induced uncertainty was investigated. For the lateral target, OAG evaluation, sphere targets (2, 4, and 6 cm diameter) were placed at three locations (central axis, 3 cm off-axis, and 6 cm off-axis) in a representative patient CT set. For each target, DCAT plans under the same objective were obtained for 6X, 6FFF, 10X, and 10FFF. The parameters used to evaluate the quality of the plans were homogeneity index (HI), conformality indices (CI), and beam on time (BOT). Next, the mechanical rotation induced uncertainty was evaluated using five SBRT patient plans that were randomly selected from a group of patients with laterally located tumors. For each of the five cases, a plan was generated using OAG and CAG with the same prescription and coverage. Each was replanned to account for one degree collimator/couch rotation errors during delivery. Prescription isodose coverage, CI, and lung dose were evaluated. HI and CI values for the lateral target, OAG evaluation were similar for flattened and unflattened beams; however, 6FFF provided slightly better values than 10FFF in OAG. For all plans the HI and CI were acceptable with the maximum difference between flattened and unflattend beams being 0.1. FFF beams showed better conformality than flattened beams for low doses and small targets. Variation due to rotational error for isodose coverage, CI, and lung dose was generally smaller for CAG compared to OAG, with some of these comparisons reaching statistical significance. However, the variations in dose distributions for either treatment technique were small and may not be clinically significant. FFF beams showed acceptable dose distributions in OAG. Although 10FFF provides more dramatic BOT reduction, it generally provides less favorable dosimetric indices compared to 6FFF in OAG. Mechanical uncertainty in collimator and couch rotation had an increased effect for OAG compared to CAG; however, the variations in dose distributions for either treatment technique were minimal.

Error Compensation Algorithm for Higher Surface Accuracy of Freeform Mirrors Based On the Method of Least Squares

  • Off-axis reflective optical systems have attractive advantages relative to their on-axis or refractive counterparts, for example, zero chromatic aberration, no obstruction, and a wide field of view. For the efficient operation of off-axis reflective system, the surface accuracy of freeform mirrors should be higher than the order of wavelengths at which the reflective optical systems operate. Especially for applications in shorter wavelength regions, such as visible and ultraviolet, higher surface accuracy of freeform mirrors is required to minimize the light scattering. In this work, we propose the error compensation algorithm (ECA) for the correction of wavefront errors on freeform mirrors. The ECA converts a form error pattern into polynomial expression by fitting a least square method. The error pattern is measured by using an ultra-high accurate 3-D profilometer (UA3P, Panasonic Corp.). The measured data are fitted by two fitting models: Sag (Delta Z) data model and form (Z) data model. To evaluate fitting accuracy of these models, we compared the fitted error patterns with the measured error pattern.

소형제트를 이용한 과소팽창 음속 제트에서의 소음저감 (Noise Reduction of a Underexpanded Supersonic Jet via Steady Blowing with Microjets)

  • An attempt to reduce supersonic Jet noise is carried out by using two steady microjets in a round jet. The jet is issued from a round sonic nozzle with an exit diameter of 10mm. Two micro-nozzles with an inside diameter of 1mm each are installed on the exit plane with an off-axis angle of $45^{\circ}$. Far-field noise was measured at a location 40 diameters off the jet axis. The angles between a microphone and the jet axis are $45^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$. For an injection rate less than $1{\%}$ of the main jet, screech tones were completely suppressed by the microjets. The reduction in the ovelall sound pressure levels were $2.4\;and\;2.7\;dB\;for\;90^{\circ}\;and\;45^{\circ}$ directions, respectively. The enhancement of mixing/spreading of the jet by the microjet was negligible. The reduction of noise is probably due to distorted shock cell structures and/or broken large scale vortical structures by the microjets.

  • Accurate parameters based on equivalent circuit are required for high-performance field-oriented control in a three-phase induction motor. In a normal case, stator resistance can be accurately measured using a measuring equipment. Except for stator resistance, all machine parameters on the equivalent circuit should be estimated with particular algorithms. In the viewpoint of traditional regions, the parameters of an induction motor can be identified through the no-load and standstill test. This study proposes an identification method that uses the d-axis model of the induction motor in a stationary frame with the predefined information on stator resistance. Mutual inductance is estimated on the rotational dq coordination similar to that in the traditional no-load experiment test. The leakage inductance and rotor resistance can be estimated simply by applying different voltages and frequencies in the d-axis model of the induction motor. The proposed method is verified through simulation and experimental results.

Effects of Rapid Thermal Annealing Temperature on Performances of Nanoscale FinFETs

  • In the present work three dimensional process and device simulations were employed to study the performance variations with RTA. It is observed that with the increase in RTA temperature, the arsenic dopants from the source /drain region diffuse laterally under the spacer region and simultaneously acceptors (Boron) are redistributed from the central axis region of the fin towards the Si/SiO2 interface. As a consequence both drive current and peak cut-off frequency of an n-FinFET are observed to improve with RTA temperatures. Volume inversion and hence the flow of carries through the central axis region of the fin due to reduced scattering was found behind the performance improvements with increasing RTA temperature.
