  • Nursing students who play a role as future nursing professions are provided with education through various teaching and learning methods in order to develop necessary competencies. The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of nursing practice education using multimedia. A quasi experimental study with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used, and the participants of the study were students from two nursing colleges, who received an educational intervention using multimedia as the experimental group and those without education were selected as the control group. Data collection was conducted immediately before and after educational intervention, and data analysis was performed using the SPSS 21.0 program by x2-test, Fisher's exact probability, and t-test. As a result of the study, the experimental group was statistically significant in self-efficacy (t=3.402, p=0.015), resilience (t=2.047, p=0.045) and performance confidence (t=2.128, p=0.018) compared to the control group. Through these results, we could confirm that multi-media practical education is effective educational method for enhancing nursing students' self-efficacy, resilience, and performance confidence. Therefore, in order to establish a systematization of the nursing profession, it is essential and should be continued for nursing students to use structured multimedia and core fundamental nursing skills.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between clinical judgment and nursing performance based on myocardial infarction simulation applied to nursing students. Method: 39 fourth grade nursing students participated in this explanatory study with sampling of accommodations. The Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric has been used in self-reported clinical trials and satisfaction with judging practices. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS WIN 19. Results: Scenarios with myocardial infarction were scored by self-reported clinical judgment. Total mean score of clinical judgment and total mean value of clinical judgment is 4.17 ± 0.80. Correlation Between Variables After Simulation Practice is highly significant for providing positive clinical judgment and satisfaction with nursing performance. Conclusion: The simulation-based practice associated with adult nursing in myocardial infarction was useful for clinical judgment and nursing performance satisfaction, which improved the core basic skills of nursing students.

Methods: The study design was used Creswell's exploratory sequential design by collecting and analyzing qualitative data obtained from interviews and then analysis of quantitative data. The participations were 79 seniors in nursing schools and 85 nurses with less than three years of clinical experience. The data were collected through individual interviews and analyzed based on Elo and Kyngas's content analysis method. The quantitative data were collected using the questionnaire developed based on qualitative results and analyzed by SPSS 23.0 program and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). Results: The results showed that IPA extracted seven items with high importance but low satisfaction: "nursing fads and trends," "teacher-learner communication and reflection," "materials used in clinical settings such as monitoring results and test results," "special presentations by experienced practitioners," "instruction assures learners' comprehension," "accurate and detailed evaluation standards" and "feedback on homework and exam." Conclusion: The factors comprising good instruction were verified, and the necessity for additional efforts to improve high importance and low performance factors was noted. Therefore, this study can serve as a guide for nursing education facilities and educators in developing of a thorough education system with excellent instruction designed to achieve an ideal nursing education.
