  • The purpose of this study is to find out whether critical thinking education improves critical thinking disposition of nursing college students. The participants were 173 second graders. The education was conducted three times, two hours each, for a total of six hours of intensive critical thinking education and continuous education during Nursing Process class. The survey was conducted in the first week and 14th week of the course. The collected data was analyzed with IBM SPSS 21.0. Findings: The results showed that the average rating of critical thinking before and after education was raised(3.65±0.41→3.83±0.46, t=6.796, p<.001). Among the sub-items, creativity, which had the lowest score before education, has been raised the most(3.13±0.78→3.43±0.86, t = 5.842, p<.001). The effectiveness of critical thinking education has been confirmed. But it is a lack of evidence on the relevance of the details. It is suggested that repeated research is needed to ensure the quality of education, develop teaching methods, and develop tools for verifying effectiveness.

Safety perception, ethical awareness, and safety activity tools were used for, and the data collection period was from October 17 to 28 in 2022. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Regression analysis were used to analyze data. The result of the study indicated that the average level of safety perception of nursing students was 3.72 points, the average ethical awareness of patients, professional work, and cooperators perceived by nursing students was 3.04 points, and the safety activities of nursing students were 4.20 points. In the case of safety awareness and ethics awareness, r=.327, a significant positive correlation, in the case of safety awareness and safety activities, r=.399, significant positive correlation, ethics awareness and safety activities as r=.296. And so on these results showed that high safety perception increases safety activities, and high ethical awareness increases safety activities. Therefore, we need practical and step-by-step convergence education to equip nursing students with patient safety nursing capabilities. To this end, a safer environment will be created if the social support network for the systematic application of safety education is well formed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of recognition, perceived usefulness, and intention to accept the Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare among nursing students, as well as to determine related factors. Through this study, we wanted to develop the basic research for the education related to the IoT in healthcare. In this study, data were collected from 348 nursing students using self-report online questionnaires, Naverform, and analyzed using the independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation coefficients in SPSS version 26.0. The results of the study show that recognition of the IoT was correlated with its perceived usefulness (r=0.37; p<.001) and intention to accept the IoT (r=0.23 (p<.001). The strongest correlation was found between perceived usefulness of the IoT and intention to accept (r=0.67; p<.001). In conclusion, recognition of the IoT in healthcare affected its perceived usefulness, and a significant correlation was found between perceived usefulness of the IoT and intention to accept it. This study analyzed how much recognition, perceived usefulness, and intention to accept IoT in healthcare nursing students have. Based on these findings, we suggest that education related to the IoT in healthcare should be incorporated into the nursing curriculum.

  • In this study, an attempt was made to prepare an effective human rights sensitivity education plan for nursing students. This study was before and after a non-equal control group that identified human rights sensitivity and patient rights awareness. As a result of the study, the human rights sensitivity of the subjects averaged 40.22 out of 90 points. The effect on human rights sensitivity through case-based human rights sensitivity education showed that students who received training to improve case-based human rights sensitivity improved human rights sensitivity and patient rights awareness than those who did not(t=2.765,p=.006, t=-5.768,p=.000). As a result of this study, it is considered that the foundation of the curriculum to improve the human rights sensitivity of nursing students should be prepared. We propose a later study on the relationship between clinical practice and human rights sensitivity.

  • This is a qualitative study to explore the experiences of convergence external appraisal of competency in core basic nursing skills in final year nursing students. Eight nursing students who experienced the evaluation were intentionally sampled. Data were analyzed using constant comparative and categorical content analysis after collecting data through focus group interview. The results of this study showed that nursing students sublimated mental stress such as burden and pressure of the evaluation into a positive experience that they skillfully improved their nursing skills through mind control and cooperation with peers. Therefore, this study enabled us to understand the experience of students receiving external appraisal. In addition, intervention studies to alleviate mental stress on convergence external appraisal are needed.
