  • Purpose: This study was done to provide information about issues of clinical competency from the perspective of new graduate nurses and to make suggestions for improving undergraduate education programmes. It was also done to clarify learning experiences between fundamentals of nursing and the other major areas of nursing. Method: For this study, 7 new graduates and 8 experienced nurses participated. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysed in terms of Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Result: Core category and main categories, were delineated. Clinical nursing competency was found to be a dynamic process with each participant actively engaged in acquiring problem solving ability in diverse clinical settings. These findings have value in understanding the embedded meaning of clinical nursing competency. Conclusion: Therefore, the educational programs reflecting the experience of new nursing staff should be developed.

균형성과표를 이용한 병원 간호조직의 핵심성과지표 문헌분석 (A Review of Key Performance Indicators Using a Balanced Scorecard in the Nursing Department of Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze key performance indicators using a balanced scorecard in the nursing department of hospitals, and to find useful suggestions for future research. Methods: Before starting the literature search clear inclusion and exclusion criteria were determined. After that, were viewed 41 studies from the RISS, KISS, National assembly library, and NDSLDB. Data were collected on October 17, 2013. Researchers developed an analytic framework for the literature review using a balanced score card development process and construction steps of previous studies. This framework had 10 steps related to the balanced score card development process. Results: A total of 10 studies met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. We identified 234 key performance indicators for the nursing department. The average number was 6.6 in finance perspective, 8.6 in perspective, 11.9 in internal process perspective, and 6.2 in learning and growth perspective. We found that 173 indicators had been cited only once. 61 indicators were cited over twice. Further, 8 indicators employed different perspectives on different studies. Conclusion: The results of the present study summarize useful information on recent trends on key performance indicators using a balanced score card in the nursing department of hospitals. These results will help develop key performance indicators and provide directions for future research.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze nursing research using data envelopment analysis and suggest directions for future research. Methods: We established -criteria literature search. e reviewed 45 from RISS, KISS, National assembly library and NDSL DB. Data were collected on December 17, 2013. developed analytic framework of literature reviews using Yun's study. This framework had 8 items related to approach of data envelopment analysis. Results: literature established -criteria. Average numbers of input and output variables were 2.4 and 4.2, respectively. All selected research conducted efficiency analysis, analysis, and inefficiency analysis. However only 3 research. Conclusion: he results of studysuggest that data envelopment are needed to enhance efficiencies of nursing organization as follows individual nurse's profiling to develop customized performance management plans; patient centered nursing interventions; and financial performance financial reports.

중환자실 간호기록 표준화를 위한 간호초점 분석 (An analysis of nursing focuses for standardization of ICU nursing records)

  • Purpose: Purpose of this study was to analyze the nursing focuses for standardization of ICU nursing records. Methods: The data were collected from 1,000days'nursing records of 197 ICU patients at a tertiary hospital in Seoul. Nursing focuses were unified at the consulting group meeting and they were cross-mapped with the NANDA nursing diagnoses. Results: The 62 nursing focuses in 7 NANDA categories were extracted from nursing record. Among total nursing focuses 41 correspond to the NANDA nursing diagnoses and 21 were added to ICU nursing focuses. The 10 most frequently used nursing focuses are 'Ineffective airway clearance', 'Impaired gas exchange', 'Ineffective tissue perfusion: cardiopulmonary', 'Ineffective breathing pattern', 'Ineffective tissue perfusion: renal', 'Ineffective infant feeding pattern', 'Risk for impaired skin integrity', 'Hyperthermia', 'Impaired skin integrity', 'Decreased cardiac output', Conclusion: Nursing focuses list of ICU was extracted from the result of this study. These nursing focuses might form a framework for development of research-based assessment guideline and care plans for ICU patients through standardization of nursing records.

재활간호학 교과목 내용 구성을 위한 기초조사 (The Educational contents of Rehabilitation Nursing)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental data to propose further directions of education on rehabilitation nursing by investigating the adequacy of the educational contents of rehabilitation nursing. This study was a descriptive survey study. The data collected at 25 universities and 24 junior colleges through questionnaires to answer the research questions from August 10 to September 30, 2000. The questionnaire was consisted of 24 items. The contents of rehabilitation nursing education were developed by consulting with the rehabilitation nursing professionals. The results are as follows Rehabilitation nursing was taught as an independent class in 15 universities and 9 junior colleges. Most professors majoring in adult nursing (66.8%) were in charge of teaching the courses. For the adequacy of the teaching contents of rehabilitation nursing, conceptual bases for rehabilitation was the highest score (4.0), and interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, activities of daily living, clients of rehabilitation, nursing process in rehabilitation nursing, functional evaluation, movement and mobility, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sensation and perception, communication/language, eating and swallowing, bladder elimination, community based rehabilitation nursing, sleep, rest &, fatigue, bowel elimination, historical perspectives of rehabilitation nursing, sexuality, pulmonary rehabilitation, pain, cardiac rehabilitation, skin integrity, family care was ordered.

간호학생을 위한 응급상황관리 시뮬레이션 실습 교과목 개발 및 적합성 평가 (Development and Applicability Evaluation of an Emergent Care Management Simulation Practicum for Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the applicability of an emergent care management simulation practicum which is for enhancing nursing students' emergent care management competency based on the Nursing Education Simulation Model. Methods: One group pre-post experimental design was conducted for evaluation of the applicability of the simulation practicum. A convenient sample of 60 senior nursing students was participated. The simulation practicum was provided for 26 hours per student at the end of the first semester of senior year. Educational practices in simulation scale, simulation design scale and learning outcomes were measured. Higher positive correlations between variables represent applicability. Descriptive analysis, paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analyses. Results: Among contractual components of nursing education simulation model, educational practices in simulation and simulation design (r=.80, p<.010), learning outcomes (r=.71-.28, p<.050), simulation design and learning outcomes (r=.72-.30, p<.050) were significantly correlated. Critical thinking (t=-3.63, p<.050) and problem solving competence (t=-2.55, p<.050) were significantly increased by this simulation practicum. It represents the applicability of an emergent care management simulation practicum. Conclusion: This emergent care management simulation practicum was appropriate to enhance the nursing students' emergent care management coping competency.

간호사 국가고시 대비 기본간호학 문제집 문항의 변화분석 (Analysis of Test Items for National Qualifying Examination in Fundamentals of Nursing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore changes in the test items in the preparation book for the national qualifying examination. Test items which developed in the year 2000 and 2004 through nationwide faculty workshop in Fundamentals of Nursing were examined. Method: Test items for the national qualifying examination for 2000 and 2004 in Fundamentals of Nursing were analyzed using frequencies and percent. Results: The test items for the national qualifying examination for 2004 in Fundamentals of Nursing showed an increase in the number of test item over the year 2000. According to McGuire's taxonomy, domains of the test items in 2000 were recall(65.1%), interpretation (22.0%), and problem solving(12.9%) in that order. In 2004 items for the recall domain(74.7%) increased 9.6% above the level of 2000, and interpretation and problem solving domains showed a slight decrease. With regard to type of test items, the proportion of A type in 2004 was the same with 37.6% as 2000, and that of K type(61.5%) increased by 0.7% over the year 2000(60.8%). Conclusion: The test items for the national qualifying examination of 2000 and 2004 were not different except for the increase in the number of test items.

병원 간호사의 간호조직문화, 삶의 만족, 직무만족과의 관계 연구 (The Relationships between the Types of Nursing Organizational Culture, Nurses' Satisfaction with Life, and Job Satisfaction)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the types of nursing organizational culture and its relationships with nurses' satisfaction with life, and job satisfaction. This study was eventually aimed to create healthier and more positive nursing organizational culture. Methods: This study utilized a descriptive correlational method to explore mediating effects of the types of nursing organizational culture on nurses' satisfaction with life and their job. Data were collected from a total of 1,801 nurses who have worked for more than 3 years in 35 different hospitals with more than 100 beds. Using SPSS 17.0 and Sobel Test Calculator, t-test, one way ANOVA, Duncan test, multiple regression and sobel test were used for data analysis. Results: The analysis showed that the nurses had a hierarchical organizational culture. Also the subjects' job satisfaction was significantly correlated with innovation, relation, and hierarchy-oriented factors and satisfaction with life. Conclusion: Innovative organizational culture is a leading factor in determining nurses' professional satisfaction. In view of the above it is recommended that strategies for creating innovative organizational culture and its application to nursing practice.

간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 간호전문직관, 사회적 지지가 학과만족에 미치는 융복합적 영향 (The Convergent effect of Ego-resilience, Nursing professionalism, and Social support on Department satisfaction in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 간호전문직관, 사회적 지지가 학과만족에 미치는 영향에 대해 확인하고자 하였다. 2017년 4월부터 5월까지 간호대학생 272명으로부터 자료가 수집되었다. 연구도구는 자아탄력성, 간호전문직관, 사회적 지지, 학과만족이었다. 자료분석은 SPSS/WIN 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과로 일반적 특성과 관련한 학과만족의 차이는 학과선택 이유, 동아리 활동, 성적에서 유의미했다. 자아탄력성, 간호전문직관, 사회적 지지, 학과만족은 유의미한 상관관계가 있었고, 간호대학생의 학과만족에 영향을 미치는 요인은 사회적 지지, 간호전문직관, 자아탄력성이었다. 간호대학생의 사회적 지지, 간호전문직관, 자아탄력성 증진을 위한 활동을 통해 학과만족이 향상될 수 있는 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다. 이는 그들이 대학생활에 적응하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze articles published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing from 2001 to 2007. Method: Three hundred articles were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The focus was on research type, methodolgy and keywords. Results: Thirty percent of the research was supported financially. Ninety-four percent was quantitative research and of these the majority were surveys (73.2%). The rate of adoption for hypotheses in experimental studies were 55.07% but only 3% of the research included conceptual framework. The most common settings for data collection were clinical settings (51.99%), followed by community settings (43.71%). For data analysis, descriptive statistics (27.5%), t-test (17.1%), ANOVA (15.3%) and chi-square (7.9%) were most frequently used. Keywords were categorized into four nursing metaparadigms : human-beings, health, nursing, and environment. The most frequently used domain was health. Conclusion: The number of research papers published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing has increased and the quality has improved compared with articles published before 2001 year. Research topics varied and were mostly conducted on the basis of logical positivism.
