  • Pentacyclic triterpenes, mainly, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, asiaticoside, and madecassoside are the active constituents of Centella asiatica. A pentacyclic triterpene enriched C. asiatica extract (PRE) was prepared and standardized to contain a total pentacyclic triterpenes not less than 65% w/w. This work was focused on determination of antiinflammatory, antioxidant, and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of PRE and its stability. The PRE exhibited a satisfactory nitric oxide inhibitory effect, with an $IC_{50}$ value of $64.6{\mu}g/mL$. In addition, the PRE inhibited tyrosinase enzyme activity with an $IC_{50}$ value of $104.8{\mu}g/mL$. In contrast, the PRE possessed only weak antioxidant activity. The PRE was stable over a period of four months when stored as a dried powder but only in a well-closed container protected from light at $4^{\circ}C$. An aqueous alcoholic solution of the PRE was stable at pH values of 5.8 and 7.0, but was not stable at a pH of 8.2. Preparations of the PRE in an aqueous solution should be performed in acidic or neutral conditions.

  • We consider one class of bursting oscillation models, that is square-wave burster. One of the interesting features of these models is that periodic bursting solution need not to be unique or stable for arbitrarily small values of a singular perturbation parameter $\epsilon$. Recent results show that the bursting solution is uniquely determined and stable for most of the ranges of the small parameter $\epsilon$. In this paper, we present a condition of uniqueness and stability of periodic bursting solutions for all sufficiently small values of $\epsilon$ > 0.

  • Korea is now the country with shortage of electric power because of limits on power usage of businesses to prevent a possible blackout during the summer and winter. This is due to the failure to predict the total power usage. And the futhermore several accidents in the power plant during the overhaul maintenance threaten the stable power supply. Accidents were due to the combustion of low calorific coal and the shortage of the maintenance time. We should not incur a future great loss by pursuing a present small profit.

  • Let M be a generalized homogeneous compact space, and let Z(M) denotes the space of homeomorphisms of M with the $C^0$ topology. In this paper, we show that if the interior of the set of weak stable homeomorphisms on M is not empty then for any open subset W of Z(M) containing only weak stable homeomorphisms the orbital shadowing property is generic in W.

  • Aromatic diacetylenes form stable oligomeric diradicals when irradiated with UV light or heated at temperatures above their melting points. In this paper, the formation of stable diradicals is discussed, and the mechanism of polymerization in the presence of peroxide in solution, is discussed. The diphenyldiacetylene undergoes polymerization through coupling of diradicals, and not by the successive addition of radical species.

  • This paper deals with the topological stability of continuous maps. First, the notion of local expansion is given and we show that local expansions of compact metric spaces have the shadowing property. Also, we prove that if a continuous surjective map f is a local homeomorphism and local expansion, then f is topologically stable in the class of continuous surjective maps. Finally, we find homeomorphisms which are not topologically stable.

  • In this study radio rotatiing field is used in order to form the stable reversed field configuration. The experimental study removing the flux conserving ring not so as to conserve toroidal flux, it was found that there occurred a rapid formation of a stable reversed field configuration, in which toroidal flux was increased shaping reversed field configuration and F-$\Theta$ locus traced close to BFM because it started below F value.

  • The adhesion of hydrocarbon degrading bacteria(HDB) differing in surface hydrophobicity was investigated. Cell wall hydrophobicity was modified chemically and physiologically. Modified adhesion deficient mutant of HDB was selected in a soil column assay. Physiologically and chemical modification increased cell surface hydrophobicity. Cell surface characteristics including BATH and FTIR were measured. Physiological modification using ampicillin was not stable, but chemical modification was stable. Hydrocarbon degrading efficiency was measured of TPH modified and unmodifed HDB.

  • The concept of Hilbert space dissipative norm was introduced in [8] to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for exponential stability of contraction semigroups. In the present paper we show that the same concept can also be used to derive further properties of contraction semigroups, as well as to characterize strongly stable semigroups that are not exponentially stable.
